    Perfect interpretation of the delicate piece. Shouldn't the piece have been entitled Fantasy on a Theme by Liszt? It's written in the same key as the latter's sonata, whose main theme is referenced in different tempos through the Scriabin composition.

    • @Doctee81
      @Doctee81 6 років тому +4

      Braestro Certainly, yes. Scriabin’s late style (beginning around Op.58) would probably be most representative of his modernism although there are plenty of prior examples.

    Warum hat Horowitz diese Fantasie nicht in seinen Konzerten gespielt? Sie ist der Etude op.8 Nr.12 haushoch überlegen. Die Melodie erfährt eine Chopinartige Erweiterung anstatt sich mit geringen Veränderungen zu wiederholen wie in der Etude!

    • @stravinskyfan

      perhaps it's too technically difficult for him, he's not a super-virtuoso

    • @robhermjohn
      @robhermjohn 6 місяців тому

      Eine "Konkurrenz" zur Etüde besteht aus meiner Sicht überhaupt nicht. Die Etüde ist ein Miniaturstück, das erheblich "älter" ist als die Fantasie. Ich sehe viel mehr Parallelen zwischen der Fantasie und der 3. Sonate, die zu Horowitz' Kernrepertoire gehört. Letztere mag die (wunderbare) Fantasie ein wenig in den Schatten gestellt haben.

    Great performance but not enough craziness as Scriabin would require. Some passages are great but lacking some imagination. I believe that this is related to the piece itself that lacks of structure. Have listen to Richter and other great pianists but results were not that better, to my opinion. Turbulent environment was not well established...I believe score shall be modified to better fit interpretation (as per Horowitz would do).

      @@claudioparrella183 Esiste una soglia oltre la quale se si suona cercando di ottenere di più in termini di dinamica, il suono esce solo più secco e piatto. Dal momento che si capisce che vuole ottenere un suono il più "rotondo" possibile non può fare più di così, anche considerate le sue caratteristiche fisiche (se avesse avuto un braccio e un busto più grosso probabilmente sarebbe riuscita ad ottenere qualcosa di più, ma non penso più di tanto). Si potrebbe dire che è forse un suono un pò fuori "stile" (troppo chopiniano). Ma su questo non saprei...Skriabin si rifaceva molto a Chopin. Comunque tra il minuto 5 e 7 esce un fortissimo bellissimo a mio avviso (anche nel finale).

      If you understand well the sonata form and how Scriabin adapt it for this piece, you cannot say like that, the part of D Major pedal, repeated then after, evidently, in the B Major, who give the important motif of Developpment and Coda.
