It's a good thing you said this was free admission. I was worried it wasn't because the front gate and fence surrounding the park made it look like it wasn't.
It's impressive how much they managed to fit in a space that is a 3rd of my yard. It's like they didn't want to buy more land so they became the new Gröna Lund. I would definitely try that SBF coaster and S&S tower.
Funplex is great for what it is. It's not a park to go out of the way for, but it's great for the all the pedestrian traffic that walks by it. It has some great rides that are worth veering a little off the sidewalk for.
I'd just be interested what would happen on those really really crowded tourist days for the area; seems like they would have to close the front gates due to capacity at some point, considering how little room there is to move around in there. Anyways, nice review as always! While they're not 100% my thing, it's still nice to see more of these small FEC style places showing up with solid attractions. Just wish it wasn't surrounded by so many parking lots as it appears it is in the video, as I prefer touristy areas where you can easily walk between attractions without worrying about driving between each one (main reason I prefer hanging out in Gatlinburg to Pigeon Forge). But maybe its closer to other things than it appears!
Follow-up: I have visited Funplex on my last trip to Myrtle. It is not the smallest, but definitely the most-compact park I have ever visited. Also, you weren’t kidding about car two on Fun in the Sun - absolutely disorienting!
OH HELL YEAH 7 RIDES THAT IS VERY VERY IMPRESSIVE I JUST WISH WASHINGTON STATE OR OREGON WOULD HAVE SMALL AMUSEMENT PARKS LIKE THAT THE WEST COAST IS NOT VERY FRIENDLY TO AMUSEMENT PARKS ON THE BEACH
California has a few parks on the beach like Santa Cruz, Santa Monica, and in San Diego, but I believe Oregon and Washington have nothing. Coney Island, Wildwood, NJ, and Ocean City, MD and maybe Myrtle Beach even without the original Pavilion have the most amusement parks/rides on beaches on the East Coast.
@@CanobieCoaster i heard fun spot kissimmee is getting 3 and orlando 1 (they removed the yoyo at kissimmee) they have the rides in storage at the orlando parking lot, up and over board, mach fun, and tea cups. i also heard stuff about hook and slice
I just read that this park has closed in Mtryle Beach......I cant imagine what would work in the Dirty Myrtle.....it used to be the cats meow, but that day has come and gone....fill it up with the freshly retired from the North East. give the home builders something to do....God Bless you aint no Miami
I grew up with the FunPlex in Mount Laurel, so it’s nice to see them expanding their influence!
It is.
I live 12 min from the funplex in Mt Laurel :))
This is some real RCT looking stuff right here. I gotta make my way to the NJ parks
They're solid FECs.
I love how you explain mixed opinions between coaster enthusiasts and average theme park visitors in your reviews.
I try to!
I think the 'theme' is clastrophobia.
True!
A Funplex would make a good fit for Daytona Beach Florida.
It could work there.
It's a good thing you said this was free admission. I was worried it wasn't because the front gate and fence surrounding the park made it look like it wasn't.
I think the gate and fence are to limit capacity if needed given the park's size. I think that had to be done during covid.

They'd have to cut into that parking lot.
I didn't realize what a compact park this was. I don't know how they fit that all in. It seems like it would make for a fun atmosphere.
Whoever planned this park deserves an award.
So would you say fun in the sun is one or two credits since the traditional spinning cars and the hamster wheels provide two different experiences?
I consider it two since the seating orientations are completely different ride types and experiences.
Should not have closed the Myrtle Bch Pavillion and Amusement Park. Way better than all others.
I wish that was still around.
Cute little park. I like it. That one ride was it over under? Reminds me of Lumberjack. Ours has axes. Neat.
In Pigeon Forge?
@@CanobieCoaster no. My home park is Canada's Wonderland.
We’re planing on going to meyrtle beach soon, I’m totally gonna go eat here so I can ride a coaster while waiting for my food
Nice!

I agree.
I actually like the size of this place I don’t feel caved in
It's super cramped for me.

I think the gates are to handle crowds if they get swamped.
Could Gerstlauer even fit a Eurofighter in that space??
Yes something like Hydrus would fit.
I wish they can add more rides and Games to win Prizes that would be great 😊
I don't think they have room unfortunately unless they remove something.
They took a page out of Grona Lund’s playbook! Next, they’ll be adding a B&M hyper to weave through the midways.
I don't even think they could fit a B&M brake run.

I wish more parks like this would pop up.

They need a b&m giga
Lol, a B&M transfer shed is the size of this park.
How close is family kingdom to it
It's about 1.5 miles away.
@@CanobieCoaster not to bad. The pay to park must be new. I don’t remember tbat when I was there last in 2014
I can see this park having a capacity limit X amount of people can be in a X amount of time and Funplex East Hanover is so much fun
I think that came into play last year at points.
I went to it in Myrtle beach like two three weekends ago
Nice!
this park closed down and ride parts from them are at fun spot orlando
I heard Fun Spot bought the rides. Are they all going to the Orlando location or are they being divided up?

Don’t sleep on the food at funplex they have really good chicken and waffles
Good to know! I couldn't pass up Fuddruckers down the road.
@@CanobieCoaster yeah it’s close by but if you ever get back to myrtle you should check out to food at funplex
They need to add more rides and space to the location . Need more bang for the buck .
I don't know how much more space they can get.
That’s the size of like a queue also first
Yup!
I find it funny half the rides invert
It is a weird quirk.
Omg it’s Pokey Park in real life!!!
Yes
Micro park from Rct
Pretty much

I was shocked it closed already.
Thought it was Scandia
the closest ANY park to me
Nope
This Is A Literally A Theme Park
Of A Size Of Walgreens
Yes
So expensive🥲
Yeah
Are you gonna count/rank the two vehicle types as different credits lmfao
I consider the riding position and experience so different that I do.
aaand......it's gone
RIP, sad to see it go.
I went on all of them but the airplanes and swings beacause the airplanes were broke and the swings was for babies
Sorry they were closed!
Omg, Disneyland is so much better.
Disneyland beats any park for me.
