Fanny Craddock looked like a cross between Margaret Thatcher and Bette Davis in "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?"
How the hell did chat shows get from this to someone like Gemma Collins on the sofa. 😂
It’s a reflection of the way television has gone so 💩now. Cheap Chat shows like Jonathon Ross, Graham Norton are all about getting as many cheap laughs as possible , not about asking intelligent questions. Also with so many Celebrities having zero talent it’s shows how low we have sunk with the likes of Gemma Collins and Stacey Solomon
Bad education in schools and dumbing down -
or that grotesque, talentless front wheel, Miriam Margolyes who has no career to plug or talent to display so she simply speaks filth with her cut glass diction and plummy accent, for shock value only and telling the most pornographic and tasteless yarns.
She’s totally entertaining to watch and so funny 😂. So true about political issues too . 💯
No nonsense from this lady. Real people, unlike our sad apologists of today.
She did say she had her cancer cured from faith healing, that is nonsense. She is fascinating to listen too though.
She was totally right about Politicians!!... God love her.
need more like her to day
I was born in 1973, a full year before this was originally broadcast.... Fanny was absolutely and utterly crazy.....
Crazy in a good or bad way?
@@johnyzero2000a combination of both.
She was soooo entertaining, I really wish she was still here, other celebs pale into insignificance compared to Fanny.
LOVED Fanny Cradock!
Boy she got jumpy when he asked her about the faith healing. I didn’t think she was going to answer him but walk off.
God knows what was going on in Fanny Cradock's head but the conversation was entertaining and in good humour. I wish there was more footage of AFP Taylor who gave such thoughtful and knowledgeable historical insights.
This is superb, again I have to say this, there was so much good about Mrs Cradock, who she never legally was!
So much negativity. The Gwen Troake incident was written by a BBC 'script artist.'
Aunty Beeb, as Terry Wogan used, wanted to introduce a new face, a young girl/lady called Delia.
Fanny has to be celebrated!
Gwen Troake was the intransigent one anyway. She flatly refused to take on anything Fanny suggested because she wanted to serve up her rich creamy stodge in all three courses. Apart from the over-dramatics, Fanny was spot-on in her advice to Mrs Troak.
@@Knappa22 exactly, and Esther Rantzen milked it for all she could, you could tell she didnt like fanny, but then again fanny got her TV show on her personality and cooking skills ,unlike Ms Rantzen who slept with the shows married producer, and later married him ,Bernard brayden and his wife were dropped by said producer to promote Rantzen , says a lot !
Gwen troake programme was a stunt by esther Rantzen and her equally boring husband desmondwho was the producer of her awful tv programme, her husband got rid of bernard braden and barbera Murray show to give the spot to Rantzen, who he was having an affair ,later leaving his wife and children to be with her,so not so nice is she ,never mind demonising fanny cradock look a bit closer to home esther
Delia was a much better cook
She wasn't mad, she had a very unconventional life
She was totally sane but surrounded by crazies
@@splinterbyrd GREAT comment. I concur
I absolutely adore her ...♥️♥️
Parkinson was a great programme.
She was a version of Tallulah Bankhead. Fanny was very funny. I wonder what Barry Humfries would say of her?
I have watched Parkinson, all my life, thought he was a nice down to earth guy, yet someone downloaded a video, with a 3 second clip of him taking off on a young technician. What a bad guy.
She had a hard life reason being she was so hard misunderstood I'd say but such a character😢
Yes I agree with you ,she did have a hard life ,but I liked her
Oh, my, look at how young Parkinson looks in this video!
A.J saying politicians want to do a good job....dream on matey.
Now, in public life, we have Gemma Collins.
Mad as a hatter ms cradock!
I must say that I think that Fanny Craddock has far the best of this exchange with AJP Taylor. It IS true that France had some terrible governments in the 20th Century, one of which was literally fascist.
Hilarious
Taylor would be eating his words regarding politicians if he was still alive…
She reminds me of Cathrine Helmond.
I’m sure she was probably awful to people .. but we just do not have celebrities like this anymore… that’s a shame
We came across her by accident in the very early 1980s, went out shopping and she was so polite and courteous and nice when we asked for her autograph . I still have it in a drawer somewhere this day
Based on what?
@@ajs41 well , the fact she seemed s awful lol
Lady c
She was nice,
Bloody shame she didn’t write books as she woulda been rich and not ended up in a old people’s home. As it’s books that make the millions, Delia got her millions and Jamie got his millions from books hence why Jamie never stops writing them. If you can sell a book as it’s wholly your idea you’ll earn a fortune if it’s a best seller. Shame Fanny gave her recipes away for free in booklets on BBC. It’s why song writers earn more than the singer.
She was actually a fairly prolific writer. She also wrote a lot of fiction.
I don’t think she really knew that much about France or the French.
Not much to know so who cares?
Watching in 2019 and party politics do stink ... What would Fanny think of Brexit 🙈
She used to come into our shop in the 1980s, but we had to put newspapers down because she had begin to leak unexpectedly by that stage
Aww bless her ☹
What a load of rubbish.
What a cruel remark to make about her ,even if it is true it's still cheap
@@handsoffmycactus2958 to be fair she did have remarkably strong views on the Jews
Lol she was a bit of a bitch to be fair
I dunno, I always thought she had cold eyes
If she had married Tom Weir would that have made her Fanny Weir
She lied on a legal document! She reinvented herself. She was a bully and l believe desperately unhappy with herself.
What was the lie??
@@src3360 she said she was widow when she wasn’t on a marriage certificate, making the marriage bigamous.
@@benswindlehurst1857 true, it was when she 'married' Jonny. Her second husband, due to being Catholic, wouldn't give her a divorse.
@@madabbafan she married four times, two of her marriages were bigamous.
@@src3360 also lied about being cured of cancer
God, she is sitting there with her eyebrows blocked out and more tape holding her face back.
I think she had multiple face-lifts..
I mean, celebrities aren’t any better today …
@@1953childstarWho gives a shit about what you think?
“Forgive me, I’ve just washed my hands” as she cradles a used tissue
Horrifying
Faith healing cured her of cancer and her doctors will confirm it. 😂😂😂😂😂
I can't imagine how traumatised today's ultra woke BBC's presenters and commentators would have been with Fanny as their guest. A nationwide course of counselling and prayer would have resulted followed by a through exorcism of the TV studio and the No 11 bus from Victoria.
Ok... what does woke mean?
Define woke.
Look it up
Just an observation - if I didn't know who she was I might have thought her to be a man who'd transitioned to be a woman .
I think man. Note the cloth around “her” neck.
so lets see a picture of you so we can check if thats the same for you
Not to bright then are you!
@@irenemax3574 You look like a man yourself.
@@ria1636 Fair point! The curse of the Neanderthal chin runs through my family too.
Fanny Craddock another of lifes great narcissist
Faith healing?? Leave it to the Doctors....x
She has the most scary eyes and was always rude to most people and the worse eye brows I’ve ever seen
Yes but still entertaining,
Fanny Craddock, huge in the 70s and quite literally self imploded with her disgraceful and disrespectful behaviour to people in general. Should you feel sorry for her I don’t think so?
So fanny was a liar
Horrible woman
She seems and sounds a transvestite...
Troll.
@@ria1636 yes, she was that as well.
