You don't need a voice mail for me, Ernie. I met you when I was a little kid and you talked to me for half an hour in the Cubs' dugout. You remain in my heart as the most magnificent, kind, gracious, thoughtful superstar in the history of sports. You hooked me on the Cubs and, in 2016, when the Cubbies recorded that final out and finally won the World Series, me, my wife and my son hugged each other to the floor in a pool of happy tears.

Tears. Got to meet Ernie when I was a kid. He was just as nice as you'd expect. We loved this guy in my family.

Never met the man but he was Ernie Banks. I'm one of the lucky ones that got to see him play at Wrigley when I was a kid. Saw a no hitter in '69, saw an opening day there. But being 7, 8 and 9 at the time just remember the experience. After the fact I feel blessed to have had his baseball cards, seeing him play and hit some home runs. But what I remember most is the mans smile and love of life. RIP Ernie

Back in the old days, Mr Cub hit 512 home runs on his excellent skills. He brought the thrill for fans to be in Wrigley Field. RIP Ernie!

I saw a little bit of his memorial. God blessed him with nearly 84 years. Have fun playing baseball with the angels Ernie. Chicago and the world will miss you!

they sure dont make em like Ernie Banks anymore. Had speed and agility, perennial upbeat attitude and personality, and what a power hitter, esp for a SS, and in the era he played in, which was dominated by great NL pitchers. He could have hit 750 HR if on steroids. RIP Ernie and thanks for the memories. Hope they're playing 2 up in Heaven today

Wow, Ernie Banks had a creative idea. Touch a part of a statue and a recording plays a short synopsis of their time playing baseball 🤔🤔🤔

I wish there was some footage of Ernie in his prime...1955 to 1959 years. There's never anything in that period.
