hes getting a lot of love for his style
I know he’s still a young competitor, but i would like to imagine him as an excellent trainer in old age and retirement. The way he competes, sparrs, as well as help guide fellow classmates, he obviously contains alot of knowledge, not just as a fighter, but a mentor to up and comers.

I love how coach pulls them back and orchestrates the environment so that everyone is being competitive but learning while minimizing risk of injury. Playful combat. It’s a thing of beauty.
no one wants their shit pushed in every time they train. can't train if you can't recover from training lol. that's how it should be
Love the environtment allowing the guys to learn and grow, not working full force. Great work by the coach as well, calling out when guys hit too hard. Amazing. In boxing or at least in all the gyms i've been guys always try to hit the hardest and often in cold 10oz broken gloves. And the coaches don't give a damn.
This is what seperates great coaches and average coaches to be quite honest. A coach should always be there to look out for his team, and coach them tell them when they are doing to much, tell them when they make a mistake. Its all good learning. Its always good when the gym environment makes you want to go back the next day to learn more. Safety, Knowledge, Progression.
Bro sparring at boxing gyms is basically fighting, I don’t think people can understand how hard they go unless they’ve experienced it

60% to body and legs 30% to head is what I think is best for everydays sparing.
Legs and rips can heal. Brain cells do not
@@theaverageitaliandon998 yeah in my experience. Boxing gyms generally go much harder than Thai/MMA gyms. It's not healthy for longevity!

Hey why don't they wear headgear? I box and we always wear headgear to spar. Just getting into muay thai and I see everyone sparring without headgear and I don't really understand it. There's a good chance that elbow would have done some damage.

@@SiamBoxing I also did the box to muay transition a few months ago and my conclution is clear, muay thai is tough and raw man, trainers want us to be like thailand warriors or some sht. Anyways, at my gym we hit to the shoulder if We elbow while sparring.
@@davidfernandez8515 you're allowed to wear it but generally thai sparring is much lighter than boxing sparring so it's not always needed. Yes accidents happen but most guys pull those elbows, knees and head kicks really well so they don't give everyone brain damage

Anderson Dess, he will never beat rodtang as he is on another lvl of Muay Thai. Rodtang has more experience in Muay Thai then Jonathan

i love watching pro fighters hold back and be slightly gentle, just out playing their sparring partner. Jonathan in a real fight does some serious damage!
I love the positive vibes throughout the video. Checking if the opponent is OK, complimenting the elbow catch, lots of smiling
What actually impressed me the most was the way they sparred! They kept it real with the emphasis being on developing the techniques and combos with out egos! It allowed each partner to execute in real time. Repetition is mastery. Acknowledging each other's mistakes as well as what they did well should be a lesson to us all. This is what training is all about. Thai On!

Gotta respect Haggerty for being able to adjust to everyone’s levels…you can see him turning it up and down with different sparring partners and matches their energy/skill level

What a great gym, nothing but respect from everyone when they spar together. They all push one another and you can see it when they spar but they let one another learn. True sign of a great gym. Haggerty is a beast with that teep!

I love this sparring, being able to turn the heat up, but the coach still makes sure the other fighter is ok, but still maintaining that push hard attitude.

Jonathan Haggerty is one of the most exciting young fighters I've seen in recent years he reminds me a lot of a young hungry Ramon Dekkers with his aggressive come forward style and love his left kicks they are lethal!
totally agree, he is a super exciting fighter hes got a huge career ahead of him and achieved a lot at a young age. it will be good to see him back in the ring soon, id still like to see him in traditional gloves

I absolutely love that Haggerty slows down after some of his teeps/kicks to check up on his sparring partner and make sure he didnt land too hard. In the first 2 minutes you can see him do this 3 or 4 times. That is a good sparring partner. Love watching him fight as well, I am a huge fan.
