An intelligent crustacean from outer space tries to take over the world.

Additional audio and video augmentation by TooleMan TV, 2024.
There have been many famous TV sci fi characters -- and character relationships -- but maybe not enough has been said about how Richard Basehart added a gravitas to this show as the scientist/admiral Nelson. The dialog was not complex, but I think there was some chemistry with the main actors that also adds.
I agree wholeheartedly. And even in one of the most ridiculous scripts of the series, Nelson uses logic and reason... Admirably. 😇
Richard said in an interview that it really helps if you like the other actor or actor's you are working with as it makes it easier with the relationship of the character's, he said that he really liked David and they got on very well together.
It's hard to.pick the silliest and most outragepus episode from this series but this one comes close
It took three separate instalments for me to get right through the 46 minutes and 7 seconds of this Irwin Allen extravaganza. Loved the radioactive fuel rods that can just be popped out for a quick inspection. No worries at all.
Broil that lobster 🦞 😂
We're they using some substances when this script was written?😂😊
Victor Lundin (who played Lobster Man) also starred as "Friday" in the 1964 classic, "Robinson Crusoe on Mars." He also played the first Klingon to ever appear on screen in the Star Trek Original Series episode, "Errand of Mercy."
Well I'm impressed you know your stuff.
Wikipedia and Imdb can make everyone a subject matter expert in 5 minutes or less.
Are you sure they are the same guy?
@@ttestates1 Yup, same guy.
I think he was also the scientist in the season two Voyage "Leviathan," whose clothes expanded to keep him tastefully covered when he grew to epic proportions.
Thanks Tooleman.
I enjoy watching these videos, I watched them when I was a kid. Now that I'm older and know a little more it amazes me how ridiculous this show is. "I've confined the alien in the missile room" brilliant. Firing guns and using explosives in the missile room.... in a submarine at the bottom of the sea😂😂😂😂
The Lobster Man!....Can't wait!
Indubidubly 🙂
Excellent, I wonder if the lobster man and the carrot monster would get on if they ever meet up.
If they met up, it would be on a plate at a nice restaurant.
As if the Admiral could of survived being locked in that capsule with a isotope, that man is super human!
The charm of this show is epic
my favorite thing about this episode is watching basehart communicate with this guy straight faced. he really was a great actor.
Well, if you are here in peace, welcome!
@@johnclark4593 That line cracked me up
@@georgehenderson7783 THE END OF YOUR WORLD, CAPTAIN!!!!
Not certain but during an interview, I think that David Hedison stated that towards the end of the series, he was getting tired of Lobster Man, P!ant Man, Whatever Man, etc.
Should be a tasty dish....cracking costume, slightly iffy science wise.... but a fun ep!!
😂
There are so many episodes that I'd have to do 100 takes not to smile -
Especially the Vincent Price /evil doll segment.
But....I love this,show!!!
Arrest the lobster 🦞 😅
Here we go. This is how I end my weekend. Thank you TooleManTv.
"Metal's certainly not from this world."
Victor Lundin ! He played "Friday" in that fine movie ROBINSON CRUSOE ON MARS with Paul Mantee.
The actor who plays the title character also appeared on the second season of Batman, in the two-part episode, “Come Back Shame”/“It’s How You Play The Game”; he played an Indian Chief named Standing Pat--an interest earring spoof on Sitting Bull…..
"Oh, there are other civilizations out there, then?"
The vilain monster.😂😂
"I WILL EXPLAIN ALL TO THE MAN WHO IS CALLED ADMIRAL NELSON"
Not one of the best episodes. Why confine an alienin one of the more vulnerable areas of the sob?😢😢😢 27:28
David Hedison was shaking his head at this one!🦞
"We have in a manner of speaking a giant ear that hears all the words spoken on earth." "HMPH."
The Lobsterman when my Boy Captain Crane destryed him please Chief Sharky please pass the butter.😊😅😂❤
Spiral staircases, almost my only weakness.
Just a guess, but maybe we'll have enough arcing and sparking to cook this bad boy.
Discharging firearms in a submersible vessel.
EPIC.
Alternate opening: Patterson first meets Mr. Lobster Man at the Crow Bar one night. He impressed upon Patterson that he was erudite, well-schooled, and had thick skin. Patterson and Lobby cracked jokes until the tide came in. Finally Patterson told Lobby it was time to go - and they both floated apart.
This was going to be the beginning of "Lobster Crest", a new, fabulous nighttime soap.
That would truly be a "pot boiler" of an episode.
Surely this episode must have some bloopers hidden somewhere ...🤭
It was a trick!
I love all things Irwin Allen! I met Victor Lundin at a convention once. He was very kind. He mentioned another Voyage episode he was in, "The Men Fish." I didn't realize he was Lobster Man too. So cool!
That's great - he was a Lobster Man and a Man Fish, too! Well, not exactly, but close enough for Irwin Allen. Thanks for the note!
"Get away from there...LET HIM HAVE IT!"
THIS SHOW. WAS 😂&😎. THEM MONSTERS ON HERE. THEM GUYS R AMAZING FOR KEEPING A STRAIGHT FACE!!!
AWESOME..................
Please someone gèt the crew some better hand weopons to defend themselves with that can actusllly do some damage.😮😮😮 41:57
There is a lot of room in the Sea View. Must be like 100 times larger than a conventional sub.
I knew there was something fishy about that guy...
"Top security weapons."
I will bring the secret sauce.
"Yah, that was the first crack in his story."
"What are we waiting for?"
"Why the crowbar?"
"If it attacks, shoot to kill."
16:17 Lobsterman is a real pain in the neck!
Who wrote this?
This episode was far better than I expected.
I honestly enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
The monster of the week is quite laughable by todays standards but there was one that was well done, the rock monsters. The Fossil Men.
A quick peek at that lobsterman had me in stitches 🤣🤣 Ohh How I love old shows like this. So fun and great
Captain Crane announces, "attention all hands" surf n turf in effect for the whole crew...the end of the Lobster Man!!!
4:50 using plastic explosives to open up the alien capsule in the torpedo room. I think I missed the significance of that watching this as a kid.
Él episodio lo quiero en vivo y español gracias 🙏
I think that is the first time I have seen the Seaview head butt a rock 25.43 😳
7:19 I hate it when Aliens attack my boy Patterson!
I say get a big pot of boiling water and some melted butter 😅
I'm never eating lobster again.
a big pot of boiling water will stop the lobster man.
1:45 Seaview Rock and Roll!
131 feet is the deepest you can dive in the sea 😊
David had given up by this time 🥴
You got to give credit to the Seaview Crew guys man. They fought this Lobster alien guy some four or five time's in this episode, got overpowered and still they say "Fuck that noise we're going in!" Outstanding!! LOL
What they didn't let on was the big vat of boiling water they had waiting for the Lobster Man.
Thanks Tool E.
Red lobster Man. Looking for the all-you-can-eat shrimp special.
This has to be their jump the shark episode. Like Irwin's Great Vegetable Rebellion..
It was reported that the Lobster 🦞 man became.. CEO of Red Lobster..😂😂
I meant “interesting spoof”--my bad!😆🤣
"Good! General Cook is chomping at the bit. He can't wait to blast that capsule open."
That garlic butter trap at the end was ridiculous
"Where's uh, where's the alien?"
Thank you for sharing this. It's so much fun to watch these in high definition. I wonder why they don't release the series in high def? Is next week going to be "Crab girl?"
If only... 😁
This has got to be the worst episode of the series. The dialogue, the plot and the acting were absolutely cringeworthy. This was just next level bad on so many levels.
Lobster Man... Irwin Allen could sure dream up some of the craziest 'creatures' for even more crazy episodes! I'd bet that most of the actors were constantly thinking to themselves: "For this nonsense I wanted to pursue a career in acting???" A crustacean with a human voice, knows the English language and one who, right from the beginning knows who Admiral Nelson is? And when did you ever see a seafood delicacy with a beard? Just throw a few pats of butter on it and throw it into the reactor room for a couple minutes... dinner for the whole crew of the Seaview!
Too bad you weren't old enough to write scripts for Voyage in the 60's! 😁
@@TooleManTVIt appears that Admiral Nelson was an intergalactic legend.
Looks like somebody Ricky Smoke's would make staff at the Quinn house.....have him go pickup a donated case of peanut brittle, yell at the disciples(free laborers, program people)Ricky Smoke's: "Lobsterman! (At the podium in the group room with that decidedly unchristian perpetual scowl on his face as he divvies out the work assignments) Go over to the Jarvis store and pickup the peanut brittle, take one of these losers with you,I don't care which!!"
Pass the lemon and melted butter and get this party started. 🦞
Don’t forget the cheddar bay biscuits
Most people dont know that (Lobster man) 🦞 used to work at the crabby patty before appearing on Voyage to the bottom of the Sea..😂😂
Thanks for the info! How did he get along with SpongeBob SquarePants?
