That always happens in 2K. In my main file in 2019, Simmons is 94 overall, Okafor is 88, Embiid is 83, Noel is 84 and they signed 85 overall Giannis.They also drafyed Jamal Murray who was 83 overall then I traded for him. Simmons has 2 MVPs and 3 Finals MVPs. They are kinda like the T-wolves in 2K.

You should turn up player progression and turn down player regression, it effects every team but it allows players to become effective much quicker so you can actually draft rookies and keep them as they'll produce
