Facts, that's why I don't take ESPN, or any other major media outlet for serious takes, I watch them for entertainment purposes. Kenny and company for the in-depth, and serious takes. Because the major media outlets just do that for the casuals that have no idea what's going on.

The fact that as a Spurs fan I was worried we'd give two of Castle/Sochan/Vassell/KJ/Hawks Picks and we gave none of that is insanity. We could get two lottery picks this year, one next year from the hawks, one the year after from the hawks. Still swap with Boston/Dallas/Wolves/Kings picks multiple years. This is unheard of level of dynasty being build in San Antonio

I'm not even a spurs fan and I was rooting for this trade just because I think the Spurs situation is so interesting. The fact they were able to get him without giving up anything significant is kind of mind blowing. The Kings could've and should've gotten more. I think as good as Zach Lavine has been they should've gone in a different direction. Making a win-now move when you're not a win-now team is baffling to me
They just became the old Bulls, a core that couldn't even get out of the first round in the weaker East. Even if they do make the playoffs (which is already unlikely), they're gonna get murdered.

Even the picks weren’t bad. We really only gave up two firsts: the Hornets pick ain’t converting (lottery protected), and the Bulls pick is also not looking likely to convert (top 10 protected).

@@_LV32 not really. Fox doesn't move the needle like he used to. Luka definitely moves the meter a LOT more. It's like trading post-2007 finals Lebron for Pau Gasol. Sure, you got a great all-star (borderline superstar, Pau was actually that good), but Lebron is just miles better and YOUNGER, especially 2008-2013 Lebron.

This is the first time in a while that a non Celtics trade has made me genuinely excited, I’ve been a huge De’Aaron Fox fan since he was in college him and Wemby are 100% gonna be my 2nd most watched team going forward this is awesome for basketball
The Spurs pulled this off without giving up any of their non-Wemby main core. The Kings got back a lot of draft capital while getting rid of Huerter who was letting them down. (DeRozan and LaVine are teammates AGAIN. Crazy.) The Bulls moved off of LaVine's contact, but that's about the only bright spot for them here.
They got a Charlotte pick which will not convey a Spurs pick which will be a late first rounder and one interesting Minnesota pick thats it.

If you are gonna have to lose Fox, getting one good first, one mediocre first, 2 second rounders and Lavine is fine. But the Bulls only getting their own first and a bunch of players that will go elsewhere is a fail. They couldn’t have extracted a couple second rounders? I hate this team. 36 years of this, and I am tired.
I do wish the Spurs kept that 2031 first from Minnesota but I’m so excited to see Fox and Wemby on the same team. Fox has been one of my favorite players for a long time but has routinely been underrated can’t wait to see him shine in San Antonio.
Honestly, the Kings likely viewed that as the biggest piece since the T-Wolves are stumbling this year. The Spurs pick is likely gonna be in the 20s, if not high 20s, and the other 1sts wouldn't convey except as 2nds due to the Bulls and Hornets tanking so hard.

@@PizzaHutCEO Top 14 protected means the team doesn't give the pick away if its top 14. So its a less valuable asset than an 'unprotected' pick. So essentially its like, if we make this trade, and my team is ass with the player you gave us, we still get our pick. You could also view it like you're a good team but you want to eliminate risk, you can trade your first round pick with protections so that say, a guy like Jokic has a season ending injury, your draft pick that you traded away thinking it would be low has suddenly become much higher, so its like good thing we had protections on that pick. Its ultimately a useful tool for deal-making between GMs, a little bit of grease on the gears

As a Kings fan, I actually don’t really mind this trade to be honest. Yes, it sucks hard to lose Fox, but in return the Kings get LaVine, 3 first round picks, and 3 second round picks. Those 6 picks(I’m not sayin the Kings will trade every single one of those picks, but still) can help the Kings make a trade for a player that can improve the defense. And when it comes to the Hornets lottery protected pick, yes, I wish it wasn’t lottery protected, but even if it wasn’t lottery protected, we all know the NBA would never allow the Kings to win the Flagg sweepstakes. We already know the NBA hates the Kings

As a spurs fan, having lived through the dynasty era, Dj’d at Tony Parker’s bar when we were title contenders, this is the first time I’ve been convinced we can be a threat since after LaMarcus left due to heart condition issues. Wemby def couldn’t do it himself, so glad we kept our core and upgraded HEAVY at the PG spot which is what we needed desperately.
