- Thanks to Steve Brock, Nobs and Aleph from the T.R.O.Y. forum at philaflava for this one. Also Stretch and Bobbito and El-P. Most heads always thought that the only verse Kid Hood ever dropped was on the Scenario remix since he was supposedly killed within two weeks of dropping the verse in the studio. So we have no idea when this was recorded or if there's anymore out there. I had this on a Stretch n Bob tape that I lost within days. I always remembered it because of the hook and sample but I never realized that it was Kid Hood.
From 92 on, been listening to the Kid Hood. Rest well, and peace and blessings from Northeast Ohio.
Kid Hood would have been an absolute all star in the rap game. SMH RIP
Cant remember his last name, but his first name is Troy, he was a good dude. He haled from Queens, 199 and Hillside between 89th and 90th Ave.. Him and my cousin used to run together.
I knew him too.He came over my crib when we were 11,my moms made him a peanut butter & jelly sandwich.I think I might know your cousin who he used to run with.RIP TROY!!!!!
Troy Anthony Hall
La-Shon McGee sad story about this dude. That's cool that you pretty much knew him
Thank you. Not sure if you would know but was he Homeless at the time of this death, living at the shelter he died in front of. I think that's what I read in an interview with Q-Tip.
@@1969nyc What was his bday. so we could represent him, on his anniversary
Kid Hood was so Dope !!! Rest in paradise Good Brother! Big up Queens ❤!
Raw fire, the dude from Tribe's Scenario!
i would love to hear more verses from kid hood. we'd be able to learn a little more about him every verse we hear from him. if he really had an LP ready to go, i can't wait for it to come out.
You have to remember he was basically bringing that grimy rap in the late 80s and early 90s shit was unheard then. REST UP
Can u imagine how much growth he wudda had by the Mid 90's had he been alive all these years
Thank you! I've always wanted to hear more stuff from Kid Hood.
I produced on 16 track 2”, about 4 songs with Troy Hall, aka Hood (in Crossdale Recording Studio on 229 St Cambria Heights, Queens). These songs pre dates scenario. Going to go through my archives & will post them...
Oh my god please post these soon, are you posting them under kid hood?
Will do. I have to go through many cassette tapes
Was he like when you met him
Real shit homie If you find it, can you make some copies and I'll buy it off you.
Travis Hall Troy called himself (Mc Hood), he stayed in me basement in Ozone Park Queens for a few days. He was a foster brother to my “x” (Ronda). I had a 16 track recording studio in Cambria Heights Queens on 229th St.. , the 1st place he ever recorded. I showed him how to stay on the beat.. we recorded several tracks there..he was a good basketball player. His personality was to not take trash from anyone. .Ronda used to live on Humphrey’s st in East Elmhurst Queens. The night that he got killed, he called Ronda to give her his new beeper number. She never picked up though, he left a message on the answering machine. Sadly, I don’t believe he ever heard his voice on the radio
Styles crazy different for that time zone..
Voice was amazing...
He was one I,ll MC just like Trife from Long Island NY may the Rest in Peace

The reason I say that because he remind me of like the next epmd and a tribe Called Quest and LOns Rakim
Damn this is ill!!!!
Great vocals + raw instrumental. Kudos El. RIP Hood
Hip Hop had to be corny. This was too hard.
@PRODUCTOMART That's some amazing rap history el-p. looking forward to hearing and reading more about hood, that verse on Scenario was amazing.
Dopenesssss ☝️✨
KILLA BEAT
He’s spittin fire but the beat sounds lil off
The beats sounds very off but hey, it was an early demo. I believe dude who produced this has vocals of Hood and laid the beat behind it. He knew he didn’t do such a great job with the beats but he released it anyway to Stretch and Bobitto. I believe this is the story.
@@gaffle-411 El-P has gone on record saying that this is his beat. He has a blog post that goes more into detail on it.
Never forget that this nigga can rap
What kid should did was ask q- tip can I have a job I can make my own records
This was sick
Yeah, El has it right: thetroyblog. com/2011/05/25/el-p-discusses-kid-hoods-drop-the-bomb/
Really a damn shame dude had to be taken from us so soon.
yeeea thats mr iam wild like larry davis nyc kids know what i mean dam el you would have elevated that niggas whole style with your production that would have been something he was feelin your shit and hood was my nigga the good and wild die young.. post more shit kid ya ill
Wow man
@1verge1 That's the same photo "The Source" ran when they reported Hood's death.
It's the only photo
I see El p in the comments so I really gotta ask wtf I were doing on here. It sounds like u copy and pasted his vocals onto the beat while blindfolded. Lol plus putting a chorus on every single word
sounds like jeru the damaja beat
Believe it or not, it was actually produced by El-P, apparently. El even confirmed it himself.
Elpee good shit! Thanx for nightwork and gametime
