My husband was repeatedly sexually assaulted as a kid and when his mom died, the therapist they went to basically told him to get over it and "grow up". He was 15 when she passed and the abuse began in his single digits. Men's boundaries absolutely need to be taken seriously and given the same consideration and care.

It sucks to say this but that's a regular occurrence. Women get seen as victims, and men as perpetrators. It's been so deeply ingrained in people for so long it's not likely to change unless not only the majority of people wake up to the problems it causes but until the people in power have reason to care about anyone aside from themselves.
Most people can at least acknowledge the problem being the people in power being a bad fit for the people without, but it's an extremely common misstep to blame the reason for that on a gender, racial, or party-based demographic instead of just plain selfishness.
Sorry for the rant, I've had this conversation with so many people in the past and you wouldn't believe how many come to the same realization as you, then you think they finally get what we need to do and they go and blame "the patriarchy", or democrats/republicans, or whatever deflects from the problem and possibly even blames the victims.

I had two stalkers. I've talked about it elsewhere on YT.
When I was still at highschool, a woman in my city was found dead, naked from the waist down. She had told all her friends about this creep who wouldn't leave her alone and followed her everywhere. She'd been to the police and they said there was nothing they count do until he did something. (This was before anti-stalking laws in my state.) The first thing he did was rape and murder her.
I was a teenager and already getting unwanted attention and touching. I was terrified.

An old coworker of mine had a restraining order against her ex. He applied for our job, which you have to pass a background check to get, and got the job. My coworker brought up the restraining order to our POS supervisor, and he tried to say, "oh, we'll just put him in another location, so you don't have to work together." On top of this probably resulting in her losing potential extra shifts (she was a key holder and could take shifts at any of the four stores), it also meant her ex now had access to her work schedule and whatever building she was working at. But, luckily, she got the union involved, and they politely told the ex to fuck off and told our supervisor he was a twat (which was not the first or last time).

He had cameras, changed locks, moved and still things were happening without anybody getting filmed entering the place.
Where would the stalker gotten keys after he changed them and the moved and had again new keys ?
Anybody entering the home and taking a set of keys would have been filmed.
If he moved different places there's no way the stalker could systematically bribe the locksmith.
It's already almost impossible to bribe a locksmith in the first place, they would be coresponsible for any home invasion, assault or murder or any crime for that matter commited with said keys, so nobody wants to risk that for a bit of cash.
And in the end, he gets a pic of his boyfriend.
Allegedly the only ppl being there would be the boyfriend and said stalker.
And then the final move was him ALONE without his boyfriend, in another state, and then only did the stalker say goodbye ?

      It was always his boyfriend.
The cameras never picked anyone else getting in, because no one ever did.

My single coworker that had a 4 year old child had a stalker that watched her from across the street and followed her. At that time there were no laws against stalking unless they committed a crime. This stalker got inside her apt and you can imagine what terrible thing happened next. While he was calling his friend from my coworkers house to come over and join in, the girl ran into her childs room locked the door and got out of the window and was saved by her neighbor. Her employer, a local wealthy family, got involved and worked with state legislature and got stalking laws passed. This guy was caught and arrested within a wèek. However it was found out that he was released for good behavior from a neighboring southeastern state for raping a 13 yr old girl. Our justice system should keep these sick people in jail ... They can NEVER be rehabilitated. And laws passed that judges are held accountable and politicians are held responsible for state laws that allow this to continue to happen. Sex offenders having to register on a sex offender list and be on the honor system to keep it updated IS NOT punishment.

I can understand your frustration. I had a really scary time with an ex when I was single. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. You are constantly looking over your shoulder, have problems concentrating and sleeping, and never know what will happen next or when it will happen.
The problem is that male stalkers are more likely to kill the object of their obsession than female stalkers, so law enforcement doesn’t take female stalkers as seriously. That has to change, because no matter what the statistics say, every case is different, every perpetrator is different, and everyone deserves the same protection under the law.
It wasn’t that long ago that the stalking of women wasn’t taken seriously, so hopefully things will change for men, too.

I have a crazy one. Guy moved into our complex.
Day one, never met the man, he knocks on my door, addressing me by name (my full name no one really knows) and also my mother's name, giving me his phone number written in crayon on a card.
I was already a little creeped out just by him knowing our names, but I'm in customer service - I know how to send people off with a smile. He never knocks on my door again but I still see him hanging out in random places around the complex just kinda staring at people, and I kinda felt he was looking into windows.
He was an odd man, wore strange socks and had very short shorts on at all times, no matter the weather. I didn't drive, so I walked everywhere through busy streets. And multiple times I'd found him following behind me until I had to cross through traffic, to which I'd find him waiting across the street at the bus stop, never at a set time and often on days where there were no busses running.
About a month after he moved in, our entire complex got a printed letter taped to every single one of our doors, warning us that he is a dangerous man, accusing him of doing awful things to a child. (Whoever did that is brave, thank you) The complex manager, instead of taking it at all seriously, prints out their own letter rebutting that, telling us how he's a veteran and he has ptsd and he's just "odd" but he's harmless.
I continue staying the hell away and now looking at him in an even darker light.
Well, things go further down hill, there was a house across the street with a young family living there and he was next accused of trying to lure the children to him with the promise of a new lunchbox.
A lot of people don't know what to believe, but he'd been following me around (I had a very young baby face at the time) and giving me the creeps otherwise until this point, so I practically ran if I ever saw him.
It all came to a head when I wake up one morning to a cop's intercom telling someone to "come out with your hands on your head." Look out to see the parking and street completely blocked off by a mountain of police vehicles, at least fifty officers, a lot of them holding assault rifles rather than pistols and a group on their way into his corner of the complex with a battering ram.
He'd some how blocked off his door to the point the battering ram didn't work (or something) and he had made a movie-esque tied together scarf/towel rope to climb out of his window in the back of the complex and then booked it... directly across the street and tried to hop the fence to the BORDER PATROL office we had there. He got a face full of pavement, no shots fired.
What was found in his apartment was a lot of gross stuff, including a couch that was raised and angled so he could better stare out his window that faced the aforementioned young family, with binoculars. Plus a lot of other evidence.
He wasn't in prison long at all.

Ok, my stalking is experience is actually pretty mild, but it made me uncomfortable. There were these middle school girls who followed me onto the tram and asked me to sing and do karate for them. At first, it was cute. But it started to get uncomfortable when I needed to get off the tram at my stop and the girl would literally grab my sleeve and beg me not to go. Eventually, I stayed later at school to finish my math homework and avoid her and my grandpa was my getaway driver.

This was decades ago when I was in HS, this guy was new to my school, he had just gotten out of juvie, he was very quiet and kept to himself, he was also very tall, thin, a bit disheveled, and strangely quiet. My teacher asked me to tutor him during study hall and I agreed, I never spoke to him outside of the subject I was helping him with so I didn't think he was interested in me, until one day as I was getting my coat out of my locker he walked up to me and handed me a note and walked away, and all he wrote was I'm in love with you, I was shocked. The next day during our study period I just very nicely said I wasn't interested. I stopped tutoring him and then he started following me home from school everyday, sometimes he'd stand across the street from my house and just stare at it, my sister who was older than me noticed and asked me about him and I told her, this continued for some time, until one day he didn't come in to school, he had an overdose of pills and was sent to get help somewhere, I never saw him again after.

I had one at work. I was 16 and had my first job in Poundland and it was mainly 23-60+ year olds there and didn’t really like me because of my age. And this 25 year old (the never grew out of the emo phase type) started talking to me a few months in. I was also going through that emo phase so it was nice to talk to someone on shift about stuff that wasn’t work.
My first sign should have been how openly he told me he had nits to maybe not be friendly to him but it was nice to have a work friend.
After a few weeks he told me how he liked girls younger than him even saying he liked girls younger than me. I felt uncomfortable and started to put a barrier between us until he called me. I never gave him my number but he told me one of the managers gave it him after he asked. Then he turned up at my school after I finished, tried to say I had to go pick my younger sisters up and he offered to join me. Luckily a friends mum pulled me into her car and drove me off. Again never told him where I went to school so my logic was that it must have been on Facebook somewhere. That then turned into him bluntly telling me what he’d want to do to me over text and asking me to come round.
I gave my notice in after six months and got pulled into the managers room to say that he had put in a complaint against me and they would sort out all of the problems if I didn’t quit (middle of Christmas period). So i stayed another week until he tried to kiss me and then told me how he had sex with a 14 year old but wished it was me. I left with immediate affect and called in sick during my notice period. I continued to get calls off of him.
Still shocks me to this day that management would put a near minor in danger like that. Wish I had told a parent but didn’t realise how obscene the friendship was or my rights as a worker.

I had a stalker at work a few months ago after just starting my job. He was a vendor and I worked at a grocery store. He saw me cashiering one day and came up to talk to me wearing a mask, hat, and his work uniform. He made casual small talk with me and I did the same. He offered to buy me Starbucks since I “looked tired.” Which I declined. He left. He came back 10 mins later and gave me his phone number which I took but never texted. I hoped he’d get the hint. 2 days later I was closing the front end when he came up to my register without a mask and not in his work uniform. He talked to me like we were friends and I had no idea who he was but figured I must’ve known him in high school or something. Instead of telling me his name when I asked he told me the company he worked for. When I asked for his store member card (it says your name on the bottom of the register screen) he was about to type it in, took one look at me and said nevermind. He left and I was weirded out but then he came back ten minutes later with a drink that he said was for some friend. He then proceeded to ask me when I was off of work and was very persistent about it. I never gave him a straight answer but I was supposed to get off shortly after that interaction. Before I left I called my dad and asked for a ride since I would usually walk home and didn’t want to risk being followed. Two days later and it was one of my days off of work. He came back, found the department I usually worked in which I never told him about and the door to it was sorta hidden. He was asking other cashiers for me too and they didn’t give him a straight answer. He bought a gift card for Starbucks even though I can’t drink coffee (which I never mentioned bc you generally try not to talk to them when they’re being weird.) he went upstairs in to the employees only area where my boss and manager found him and confronted him. I got a call when I was with my friends about it. Still never knew his name but he got banned from the store. My dad texted his number pretending to be me and we found out pretty quickly that he wasn’t a good person. Stay safe!

Told this story before but I think it fits here too. 10th grade a senior shows interest in dating me. I was all for it but my parents were not on board with dating at all, and later it was revealed my mom wasn't thrilled about this guy at all. So I told him to wait and he continued to walk around the school with me and hang out. Once he told me he wanted us to go out in secret because he really liked me. Red flag that and I held my ground. I slowly started to dislike him because he was disrespectful to my parent's wishes and he tried to follow me to every class and had become a teachers aid in my last class as well as weaseling into my friends group. My group was really accepting so none of us minded him and even after everything I wouldn't have cared. I think the last straw was when my friend who was also a senior told me he was telling everyone we were together. After I told him to leave me alone he writes on FB that he was so heart broken and how he had all these plans. I was all too happy to dodge the bullet but he was still a teacher's aid and he had joined drama club with me. Then he started dating a friend of mine, someone I hadn't really hung out with much that year but our relationship definitely died when they started dating.

fast forward a week or two and he's fucking obsessed with me. i'm talking not letting me touch anything he deemed dangerous, telling him whatever i'm eating, etc. he asked me out yesterday and i said idk (that translates to "absolutely fucking not"). he started drinking (i don't believe him at all, he sobered up way too quick for him to be actually drunk) and asked if he can kiss me after he gets back from his trip to another state. i say we'll see bc i don't wanna make him mad and then he says "i'm still gonna do it no matter what"

I was in high-school so this is a long time ago.
There was this guy who was in the special ed classes. He was just a little slow reading and writing but otherwise he was normal (no hate, I suck at math). Junior year, he started hanging out where I was but at a distance and just watched. Didn't really notice until someone pointed it out.
Senior year, he started standing in plain view and just staring. It was creepy but I just ignored it. Over the year he would get closer and follow me everywhere. I'd be in class and look up and he's looking in the door window or outside looking in. I started having to go to the bathroom with friends because one day he tried to walk in and a teacher caught him.
Second half of the school year, he would block me from coming into the school and tell me I should be his gf or else. I'd always say no. He started looking at who I was talking to and would try to start fights with them later. He'd tell them I belonged to him and they needed to fuck off. I finally got sick of this and told some teachers who said they would keep an eye in him.
Seemed to get better at school, but not at home.
Had a big orange cat who started developing a habit of jumping on me and digging through my blinds when I went to sleep. (bed was right next to window) i had curtains so I would lift the blinds maybe a quarter of an inch but my cat continued to get in the blinds. One night he was growling (nothing like cat growls in your sleep to make you feel safe) and I opened my curtains enough to look outside. It was pitch black outside and then I saw the guy from schools eyes and this slow, creepy, joker like smile. I haven't mentioned that he was black so it was literally all of him I could see. Screamed bloody murder.
There were footprints outside my window in the flowerbed. for them to be that fully defined, he had been coming to my house and trying to look in for a long time.
Parents told teachers, told police. His parents laid hard into him being led on by me (? how?!) and I liked him watching me.
Years later, I get a job as a cashier in a local grocery store. One day, the manager comes over and tells me we have a new worker and brings the stalker. He got that same exact look he did when he was outside my window. Tokd my manager about him dn he told me he would be kept in a different schedule and area. Didn't matter. He looked up my schedule and would come in those days. He yelled at other baggers for working at my station, he followed me for lunch. No disciplinary action did anything.
I finally snapped when I was trying to get something under my counter and when I bent down felt him standing almost on me. I started yelling that I would press charges against him and if he dodnt immediately get away from me I would defend myself. I didn't feel safe. He laughed and tried to grab my wrist. The customer I was helping was a big burly dude who came around and pulled him away. He began telling me how its so easy to fake being bad at things so they put your in (his words not mine) "the retarded classes." You get free reign to walk the school and watch your bitches.
He didn't have the issues people said he did, he was just sadisticly smart.
He was fired, I quit. Tried to press charges but they played the "hes not all there" card.
Found out not too long after that he had found his way into another girls house and was caught standing in her room. He was arrested but released. Nit sure whats going on with him now and I never want to see his face again.

The stalker it was dead obvious it was his boyfriend.
He had cameras, changed locks, moved and still things were happening without anybody getting filmed entering the place.
Where would the stalker gotten keys after he changed them and then moved and had again new keys ?
Anybody entering the home and taking a set of keys would have been filmed.
Hell you'd need keys first to get in without breaking in.
Nah.. notice what all of this has in common ?
    It was always his boyfriend.
The cameras never picked anyone else getting in, because no one ever did.
His boyfriend could leave these whenever OP left the house or was asleep or even just in another room.
Either the dude wanted to scare and isolate him to be dependent on him or he had some weird fetish.
But notice how everything stopped when op moved alone ?
Op is incredibly naïve at this point, he might not want to believe it, but its extremely obvious what was happening.

He'd follow me around, hang out with his friends and try to walk by my house non stop. His friend was getting annoyed because it wasn't a crush, it was just creepy. He left me alone when he got a girlfriend. I found out years later that she set him up with his girlfriend so he'd leave me alone. I have no clue what he's up to these days.
Second stalker was a guy I was planning to go on a date with from a dating website. He was fine, until he got creepy. He started saying a bunch of stuff about how he could take care of me and I would never have to leave his house. When I told him that wasn't okay he threatened my life. I noped out of that and blocked him. I immediately went to the police to file a police report. A few days later he came to my job and I was able to file an order of protection. He never bothered me again. This was all less than a week.

Story around the 10 minute mark - that is disgusting how that poor girl was treated by that asshole and by her own colleagues even after the creep was fired. Wtf is wrong with those people that they isolate her as punishment for reporting sexual harassment to HR?! Shame on that company. 🤬

It always amazes me how at the end of a lot of these stories’ narrator says “I heard that person got ‘blank’” (example: so the guy got fired. I heard he got fired from the next job he had for sexual harassment)
I just don’t know how everyone ends up getting intel about the he guy/company/thing when they aren’t in contact with them anymore. Maybe Im overthinking it, but im glad that we get some closure to the stories!

I'm a reporter, and a couple of years ago I started getting letters from a guy, all hand delivered. These were single-spaced, double sided, hand written nonsensical letters. Started off with one letter, three pages in length, then it went to three at a time, all in the same style as the first one. RCMP did nothing because "there was nothing threatening" in the letters, even though (to me, anyway) the increased number of letters was an escalation. At one point I was told that because I'm considered to be a public figure because of my job, things like this will occasionally happen. We couldn't identify him because this was at the point during the pandemic where masking was required everywhere you went, and he always wore sunglasses too. He did stop writing to me after a while, but eventually became fixated on someone else, something I learned after RCMP called me to get details of what I went through with him. I still don't know what happened with him, or if he's still in the area.

The boss punished the victim for being harassed & assaulted by a co-worker. The boss is the problem.

He threatened me for three years, because I was responsible to forwarding an SEC document where he was found guilty of securities fraud, and I suspected they didn't want to continue to hire him as an actor for character appearance. They already had complaints on him and the document was the final straw. He then stalked my wedding via text the day after the ceremony, a sort of "still have eyes on you." 'reminder' And last July he died from a still undisclosed condition. Can't say I miss him.

Not a stalker, but definitely obsessed with my weird looking high school self, to this day I don’t know why. A friend of one of my brothers, who was also the older brother of a friend of mine. Never in my life was I so happy to have overprotective parents lol. Guy shows up to my house WITH A LIMO and asks if I want a ride. I think their parents owned a business. I told him I’d have to ask my mom, tell her and then beg her to say I can’t go. She wouldn’t have let me anyway. Tell him I can’t. He asked to borrow one of my CDs and when he returned it, he had drawn on a piece of paper a heart with our names in it, and a knife going through it with my brothers name. TF....
The only reason it didn’t get worse, and I thank God to this day, was because of one of my cousins. She’s like my godmother and was a guidance counselor at our school. I don’t know how she got wind of what he was doing, but she did. Years later I found out she called him into her office and put the fear of God into him. He never bothered me again.
More recently, a few years ago, guy was bothering a coworker and wouldn’t leave her alone. I stepped in to “help” so she could escape. Seems anyone was good enough for this guy. He wouldn’t shut up and let me leave to keep working. Coworker went to the back to warn management. Guy leaves for a few minutes, I think I’m good. One of the managers and another male coworker come over to ask what’s going on. As I’m explaining it to them, the guy comes back! Starts asking me questions and only looking at me. My manager tries answering instead, and he ignores him. I answer as politely as I can while trying to hide behind my, over 6ft tall manager, and my manager doesn’t skip a beat as soon as I’m done talking. Says I’m needed in the office. Our loss prevention was notified and told to be on the lookout. Didn’t see him after that, thank God. Freaking weird.
Last one that happened that really made me scared for my safety. Same job. I was leaving for the day, had earbuds in. Didn’t realize he was trying to talk to me. Well, he was talking in Spanish and assumed I couldn’t understand. So I responded in Spanish. Big mistake. But that company pounded into the employees heads that you always took care of “guests” and you represent the company even off the clock (uniform gave it away), so act accordingly. Never again will I let fear of losing my job put me in such a scary situation. Anyway, to try and stop typing, long story short. Guy starts asking me to go eat. I say no thank you. I’m tired and want to go home. I was about to get on the escalator to go to employee parking, guy GRABS MY ARM and stops and asks again to go eat. I said no, I want to go home. I’m surprised I didn’t fall running down the thing two flights. Ran into employee services, shakily ask the attending to call security. They never found him. Escorted me to my car and made sure I got out safe. I was checking my rear view the whole way.

Not taking stalking seriously is disturbing. Women can be just as terrifying as men and I’ve heard every excuse under the sun including “they’re on the spectrum”, and I don’t give a shit. Get help if everyone you interact with runs away from you, get help. Men and women, their is no such thing as playing hard to get. Self awareness is a beautiful thing, try it. For everyone else, be armed with a weapon if some sort. Take your power back!

And that he left you multiple notes without you seeing him even once. The whole thing just reads like a creepy pasta (either that or your bf is fucking with you).

I've been stalked twice by Indians during my studies at university.
    #1
I was outside the library waiting for a friend and a bunch of Indians were pointing and staring at me. One of them came up and introduced himself. I wasn't interested and wasn't listening to his life story. A month or so later, we crossed paths again and he was retelling my activities and whereabouts since we met. Turns out he and his friends were following me and reporting back to him. I was too passive and non confrontational to tell him to F off. It got too much when he got angry with me when he found out I had male friends and I was not to speak to them. That's when I grew a pair and told him where to shove his delusion that we were an item. Never heard from him again.
    #2
Pretty much the same thing as #1. Minding my own business studying when a different indian wanted to be in my life. He pestered for my email and number, which I refused. He just didn't get that I wasn't interested. He did the same surveillance thing and followed me. He even set up an email for me as I refused to give him mine. I ended up changing the password and closed the account. Never saw him again.
I spent most of my uni days looking over my shoulder and studied near other people as potential witnesses. I avoided Indians for a time as well.

I had had a quite a few stockers 😢 enough for me to need therapy. The more severe case it was a male in his 50 when I was around 25, I had a baby and a kindergarten. My car needed a tire repair and I was just at small tire shop a few blocks from my home waiting to have it fixed. Well this man thought he could impress me with the riches his family has in Mexico when he was growing up, riches he doesn't have now 💀 well he would end up following me from there to grocery stores my child's school and my home that was 2 blocks from the school! One day he followed me inside the school! I told school security and it turned out he had been stocking other mothers too and they couldn't kicking him out because "he was picking up his nieces" 🙄 well a few days later he followed me to the Detroit's Riverwalk, that if you don't know it's a border area with Canada and it's a very secure area. I went there because he was following me at the grocery store and then followed when driving! Since it's an area surveillance by border patrol, state police and the Riverwalk security they told me to keep walking into the pathway and they would get him! It's turned out that the man was an illegal Mexican immigrant and got deported after that because I did file a police report and all! So he is completely gone out of my life 🤗

I've had multiple stalkers during my lifetime. The first one was when I was a teenager. It started when I was about seven years old or so. He was a sheriff's son and that's how he got away with it as long as he did. His main MO was reaching through my bedroom window and stealing my panties (and this, boys and girls, is why I still will not wear bikini underwear) when I wasn't home. He left me alone when he miscalculated and I WAS home. I slashed his arm from his shoulder to his wrist.
The second one was when I was working in the computer lab at the VA hospital. He was a creep of the highest order. Then he moved to Kentucky and we had peace.
The third one was after my roommate and I retired. We only knew of him to nod to him when we passed in the hallway. He is banned from our apartment complex, and last we checked, he was incarcerated in another county.

I feel sick about him now, he'd watch me constantly, stroke my hair and arms, compliment me, and message me constantly. He'd actually been warned to stop stalking another girl from our year in school, b transferred his creepy attention from her to me. After I escaped that binfire of a relationship, he began stalking a 13 year old girl, he was almost 18 by then. I expect to see his name in the papers for harassing some poor woman, I don't think that will happen, I KNOW it will as he just cannot help himself

Had this kid in my Secondary school that nobody liked, but he would only go to me and my friends because he wouldn't be lonely, well jokes on him, we hated him, so we basically tried our best to kick him out of our group, but still resisted. One time, my friend felt a bit sad, but frustrated, so I asked him what happened, and basically that kid followed him home and knew where he lives, and is scared of what he's going to do. But unfortunately, he wasn't the only friend to be stalked, he stalked all of us, including me. We had no idea of what to do, but just hope that he doesn't do something wrong to us.
