I got one of the first Crumrines they ever made, the leather was much worse then the current crop of belts they're making. this is the crown jewel of any collection. Congrats man!
Wow, what a beautiful belt. The detail, craftsmanship; it just screams "World Champion"
Absolutely.
Grant Latta Just don't forget to go WHOOOOO whenever you wear the belt around your waist or when it's hanging on your shoulder 👍
Classics Shields is expensive but the craftsmanship is amazing
That belt in 1986 when flair first debuted it was the sweetest shit I had ever seen up to that point
Thank you for posting this video, it greatly helped in my decision to place my order a month ago along with a winged eagle belt, thanks again!
Foxhound any updates? Did yours come in yet? Thanks
JC The Lawn Care Guy yes I got it in October and it’s pretty awesome! I recommend it!
Beautiful belt. Great video. Thanks for making it. Fun fact, when the big gold originally debuted it said “RICK FLAIR” on it.
Oh....my....goodness....the best wrestling belt EVER created.
That's a classic gem my friend, awesome and love it!
I just ordered their newest version yesterday. They now have the low budget version, the fully loaded version, & now a premium version. The difference between the fully loaded version & the premium version is the relief rope boarder is welded around the outside edge of the plates rather than being stacked on top of the front edge of the plates, which is more accurate to the original. I can't wait until I get it.
Way ahead of you 😉
Best looking world title of all times. They did a good job whats the price.
Go ahead and send them a Facebook message for pricing.
Grant Latta awesome

Hey I got mine today also! Just uploaded a review as well but the camera on your phone works better than mine.
the grapplers and conchos on this version are more accurate and detailed than the new premium version. the entire design looks more detailed
The premium is more detailed and accurate overall, but I do agree about the grapplers and conchos.
Congrats dude.
When you get a chance look on you tube the 1st time Flair debuts the Big Gold Belt and look closely at his name 😱 it is spelled on the belt as RICK FLAIR not as a lot of people have it spelled as RIC FLAIR .
Oh yes, I'm well aware. In fact, when I ordered the belt, I debated on whether to get RICK, I thought it'd be a fun conversation piece. But I decided on the corrected version, it's the name that was on the belt for so many years and would just look odd with the other spelling. I read the "Big Gold" book, and apparently Crumrine kept the misspelled nameplate for years and years, and then when the company was sold, it was melted down for scrap. It was hard to read that, I cringed, haha. What a shame, ya know, that would be such a fun little piece of history. Who knows, I may order a second nameplate one of these days, with the misspelling :)
@@donnylovedbowling hey you just gave me sum knowledge . I didn't know they melted it for scrap . That name plate was apart of wrestling history . 💪😎
@@donnylovedbowling I am curious to read the Big Gold book. The little bit I've seen about it has been interesting. I was looking at the history of the nameplates that were this style (before they switched to the boring flat plates in 1992 when they brought back the NWA, later WCW International championship) and the only ones I saw on the belt were RICK FLAIR, RIC FLAIR, and STINGER. They ordered DUSTY RHODES and RONNIE GARVIN plates, but those never were on the title while those two men held the title. In fact the Rhodes's plate was lost and just recently found by Cody in the last few years. Nobody seems to know what happened to the Garvin plate. I also do not know if they ever made a plate for Ricky Steamboat.
All correct. And no, one was never made for Steamboat that I know of.
Beautiful
I wish NWA still used this belt.
Incredible BELT. Only thing missing is the rope border on the main plate.
What do you mean?
@@donnylovedbowling
Notice the rope border on the side plates? It doesn't have that on the main plate.

@@donnylovedbowling
I see it now. Wow.
Just incredible ❗️ you mind if I ask ball park how much was it to order it?
Hey Aaron, I'm always hesitant to post prices, because they may have changed. I'd recommend messaging Classic Shields directly on facebook, they'll get you fixed up.
How long did it take for your winged eagle to be in your hands from the time you ordered it?
A year. I think that’s abnormal, though.
60 inches? The belt Reggie made for Andre had a 60 inch strap. And it was still too small.....
I remember them trying to put the title around Andre’s waist during a Piper’s Pit and it STILL didn’t fit, and it was made for a giant!
@@dightonazpeitia4350
They tried to put a BELT around Andre's waist. You can't put a "title" around someone's waist.
@@MrNWA4LifeTechnically the title read champion of the world and it was attached to a belt so they could. And we don’t like that world belt pal. It’s either a title, or a championship.
@@dightonazpeitia4350
Who's we? You're parroting Vince McMahon. Stop parroting Vince. It's a fucking BELT.
The original Crumrine didn't have a backing.
I know, and I actually requested no backing, but everyone I talked to including Classic Shields themselves said I definitely needed a backing. The original used Chicago-style screws to fasten the plates to the strap. They use nuts and bolts. So without a backing, it would have looked terrible.
From the video I think the right side plate bottom left stone is a little off from the others on the title
Oh it definitely is. And it bugs me a little, but not enough to worry about it.
Oh ok
Hey bud, when shields shipped your title off, did they at least provide tracking info with signature required or did it just arrive? Kinda tired of reaching out asking them questions only to be ignored considering they should be the ones being more forthcoming with information.
They did provide tracking, and the shipping itself was always super fast. I don’t think signature was required, but I think i was always here to receive it, so i don’t remember. Their communication does suck, I absolutely agree, but they do come through... eventually.
Awesome thanks man! Watching you vids and your communication brings a sense of peace to this process.
Is that on the tv/ring accurate burgundy colored leather belt
Yes sir
@@donnylovedbowling thank you for answering my question that burgundy color strap looks hella better than i thought it would lol
What color leather was the backing on the original authentic Crumrine? Also, were the screws exposed on the original. I’m looking to place an order and wondering if they could accommodate. Thank you
The original belt did not have a backing, the screws were exposed. However, the original belt used Chicago style screws, where CS uses nuts and bolts. So it might not work great without a backing
Grant Latta thank you 😃
Hi Grant, is there a way I can reach out to you to directly to ask a few questions regarding the history of this belt? Looking to purchase one myself but still have a lot of research to do!
Hey Aman, I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have right here, they may benefit others as well, you never know.
I must say, beautiful belt. Top to bottom.
I've got some pretty good videos and a great channel myself, check it out if you would like. Again Great video and great belt.
is there a video comparing the classic shields vs fandu?
No, I sold the Fandu before I got this one, sorry
Hi. What are the measurements of the belt please? Length of belt and height of the middle? Plus the measurements of the plates?
Did you watch the video? 🙃
So according to the web site, the plates are a zinc alloy. I am guessing you paid around $2k for it. I have asked CS for a quote so I will find out, but just guessing it's around $2k-$3k.
Millican uses a sheet of stainless steel. These guys use zinc alloy. The Crumrine was a slab of sterling silver. A slab of solid sterling silver to make just the main plate is apparently $200,000!!
That is for a 2mm thick slab 11"x13". Ok so I get why it's not silver. I guess Crumrine being a silversmithing company had loads of silver on hand to make it and probably offered a wholesale cost for silver at the time. This is probably why a 100% accurate Crumrine is impossible unless you are Elon Musk or Bill gates lol. Well once I can drop $2k or more without blinking, well do I buy this, or a screen accurate replica of the Sonic Screwdriver from Doctor Who from the company that makes them for the BBC? :-)
The Big Gold book says that Crumrine had to get two pieces of silver and roll them together to make a single piece big enough for the center plate. They estimated the full cost of just the center plate, labor and all, at between $20,000 - $25,000. And that was 32 years ago! So yes, I would imagine that much silver would be insanely expensive, haha. Gotta go with a belt over a sonic screwdriver! :-)
Dave does not use stainless steel. His plates are zinc. I know because I have enough of them.
@@MrNWA4Life Dave’s big gold is a joke compared to CS. The jewel couplings on the main plate look totally off, and the center plate looks smaller, and the detail doesn’t look as well done.
@@dightonazpeitia4350
You have to realize that a guy named Teddy went to Crumrine to have a copy made, Dave made a mold of his plates. The pieces that hold the stones aren't right, that's because it's a cast copy. It happens.
I want an Nwa belt like Dusty Rhodes had
what do you think of the new fandu luxe that came out recently
It’s very impressive! For a person on a budget and doesn’t want to wait, it’s a no-brainer!
@@donnylovedbowling so it this one you own now really expensive? i heard some go for $3k
great looking belt, however there is one flaw in it,on the crown, there is a diamond shape,on the rear belt, the diamond shape is silver,on all of the belts I have seen, they never get that right, they have it gold instead of silver.
They actually sent me a relief crown that I was able to add myself: ua-cam.com/video/l5Mi4E-Ho2U/v-deo.html and they make them all with the silver spade now.
So do they send everyone a relief crown? If so that would be awesome
Actually I think they make them silver to begin with now, so there’s no need for a relief crown.
How do I get my order in bro because I’m having trouble with their website???
You can message them on Facebook, or email at classic.pak@gmail.com
I want this belt. Details on order and how to purchase please
You can message Classic Shields on Facebook or email them at classic.pak@gmail.com. I paid a deposit, it took about 9 months, and when they were done I paid the balance.
Oh... so u can make payments?
I don’t know about “payments,” you’d have to ask them. But my guess would be yes.
So it's a 4mm crumm belt? That is what I put in the email?
“Fully Loaded Ultimate Crumrine”
So this belts main plate is bigger than fandu and virtually equal to the Originals size?
Yep
Hi. Do you mind telling about how much it costs please thanks!
Their pricing might change, your best bet would be messaging them directly on Facebook.
flyingrhoads it’s almost $2500
Can you get the belt without ric flair on it? I rather have it blank
Definitely.
Could you get your own last name on the name plate?
As far as I know, you can get whatever you want, as long as it fits.
I got a fandu belt like you did and I want to sell it to upgrade to this, looks like the closest you can get!
What was the turnaround sir?
9 months

Just the Ultimate, as far as I know, but maybe.
@@donnylovedbowling how long did yours take ? I just ordered one so preparing for the long haul...also does it comes with a curve?
This one took 9 months, but I currently have one on order for which I have already been waiting 20 months. They just get more and more popular, take on more and more orders, and therefore it just takes longer and longer.

Don't you think the classic shields Crumrine could be better than the original? I know it's blasphemy to say that about the original Crumrine but your plates are probably thicker and the rope boarder might be more pronounced on your belt than on the original.
I personally don’t think it’s nicer, but it’s pretty darn close.
What do these cost?
Mike Yunk It varies on who you talk to
Do you mind saying how much you paid for this belt?
Classic shield is notorious for giving different prices but typically it’s anywhere between 1,885 - 1,995
It all depends. CS has so many different versions of their belts ranging from SD to the far end being HD and then to the custom etching belt plates with the 24 karat gold. The base price lowest grade belts I think are around $700. The HD custom etched plated belts can easily go for $2000 and up.
@@dightonazpeitia4350 Do u know howmuch the low budget cost?
@@pastordomino It’s been a while since I checked their prices. Back then, it was around $700.00. That was about a year ago. I don’t know what it is now. But the quality is excellent.

@@donnylovedbowling ok
Hi. I got an update on my belt. Classic shields uploaded two videos yesterday of my belt and extra name plate. Can u take a look and tell me what u think?
Is the nameplate removable?
No, but you can probably request that it be.
Grant Latta, thanks mate. If I was to order one, I would hope they can make the nameplate removable because I prefer the plan looking nameplate that is engraved with the wrestlers name they used for the Big gold in the later years of WCW.
To each his own (: I always thought it looked strange without the equally ornamental nameplate.
Grant Latta, yeah I know where you’re coming from, & I agree in a way. I started watching wrestling around 1997. Wrestling never really got any air time on tv here in Australia back in the day. It wasn’t until the mid 90’s (the beginning on the attitude era) when wrestling gained a lot of popularity that it started being more widely broadcasted here in Australia. By the time I started watching wrestling, the Big Gold was already using the more plan looking nameplate, so it’s just what I grew up seeing, & what I associate with the Big Gold.
Grant Latta, it is a beautiful belt though, mate. I’ve already emailed them for a price. I currently own a Loomis (WWE style) Big Gold, but a Crumrine (WCW style) Big Gold is the one I’ve always wanted, & would love to add it to my growing collection. I currently own a real WWF Smoking Skull belt, a real WWF Big Eagle belt, a real (scratched logo) WWF (oval) Intercontinental belt, the Loomis (WWE style) Big Gold belt, a real WWE Undisputed belt, & a WWE shop replica of the Spinner & Big Logo belts (which are the only 2 replicas in my collection). I’d replace the Loomis (WWE style) Big Gold with this Crumrine (WCW style) Big Gold, & sell the Loomis. Then the only ones I’d still want to add to my collection would be a real WCW United States Championship belt, & a real WWF Winged Eagle belt.
Its boootiful
Classic Shields no thank you
Is the nameplate optional?
I guess you could get one without a nameplate, but it wouldn’t look nearly as good.
Wwe womens world tag team championship.
I think it's a crock of shit that it takes Dave Mellican seven years to make a belt. There is no way it has to take that long.
He doesn't have a factory in China pumping them out.
@@swerboski it doesn't take seven years to make a belt. He should have a machine or another way of making the belts.
@@swerboski Hand made etching shouldn’t take 7 years even if he doesn’t have a factory in China. Reggie’s wait was approx. 16 weeks. You are telling me Dave is that bad compared to a 90 year old man?
@@dightonazpeitia4350 it does take 7 years when it's one guy with a backlog of orders. Remember, belts weren't nearly as popular to the wrestling community until they became fashionable. Reggie never had the demand that Dave has now.
@@swerboski You take the orders that you accept. He also out-sources his belt work. Such as having other ppl do the leather work, while he does the plates. You do the work for the money that you are given. More than 17 weeks? Fine. But 5 years? Yeah, hire some help bro.
Rope border is too high, also the plates are too thick.
I think it's perfect
@@mistamaog Everyone has an opinion.
I dunno about the plates being too think, but the rope border definitely should fit around the plate instead of on top of it. It should also be thicker with less twists. It’s not 100% accurate, but it’s close.
