Can I just bring to everyone's attention that this video has been up for more than 9 hours & has NO dislikes! That's exactly how it should be because this Icelandic Guy is one of the BEST!
Incredible before and after here. I’ve never imagined using so many detailed, subtle edits, especially the multiple gradient filters applied. Thanks a bunch for such an entertaining deep dive!
Instead of using a brush to mask your gradient filter you can use a luminance mask to only affect the lighter parts of your image… this is instant and gives a very clean result.
I still think its too hard to get a clean result with luminance masks on trees and complex edges without halos. Gradient is 1000% technically unnatural but does not appear so to the eye....in my uneducated opinion* That being said, it is super choppy in this video, for sure.
Can you do the opposite too? Beginner here; I have a photo with many dark subjects and only one fully white one, so I had to underexpose in order not to lose detail in the white subject.
I really like your editing style and this is kind of effect I'm aiming to achieve with my edits. I don't think I've ever found a step-by-step guide so well explained like this one. Great job 👍
TNice tutorials was honestly so helpful. I’ve been working around soft, whether it be church, singing in a band, or theatre for most of my life so tNice tutorials
dude you're awesome! i love that you actually showed us and explained what you were doing. i couldn't find anyone else that made it this simple, also straight to the point !
I’m starting a drone photography business to help fund my flight lessons, this tutorial will help me so much when it comes to making my images top top quality! takk!
Really enjoyed that. I am new to lightroom . I have trouble understanding you sometimes which actually makes me pay close attention. I picked up a lot from this tutorial, Thanks
I have to honestly thank you. I bought your Inspired By Stockholm presets and tossed them on some photos that I was unsure about and WOW!!! Completely made me see my work in a whole different way. Inspired me to enjoy editing again. thank you my friend and keep up the amazing work!!
Thank you for providing your raw photo so that we could work a long with you. Could I ask you how to make your image soft like you mention at the end. I could not find the link.. Love the tutorial. Thank you. I am a photoshop girl, but wanted to get to know the ins and outs of LR.
Its nice to see progres in developing lightroom. When you were removing building from mask, in 2024 you just do that in few clicks - substract from mask, select sky, invert. Picture is still available, it was fun to edit picture with you ;) Thx
I have 2 folders for my image files. One folder where I sort the raw files in chronological order based on date + identifying number (this can be whatever and easily setup when downloaded from camera). And a separate folder for edited images, one folder for raw edits and one for exported PNGs. The edited images have the same name as the original so its easy to find them if I mess up. If I save multiple versions I just add a _2, _3 etc to the name. Works great for me.
Omg you're the funniest person I've ever met! Your videos are super educational and I love how you make fun of yourself when you pronounce things funny. I'm sitting in my room learning to use lightroom and laughing out loud every now and then when you say things funny. Love it x
it would be really great if u do a whole tutorial on one picture. I think there are many people like me who would a 60+ minutes video because they are starting photography as a new hobby. DO IT! 😁
17:02 if you press shift, then linear gradient will be 100% vertical or horizontal. Useful on some photos. 21:30 another good tip is to use opposite color for highlights (opposite from shadows), it is actually what you did but just for people who chose another color - chose the opposite color for highlights
Nice job - enjoyed your comment on graphic art / photography. To me they're one and the same. What looks good is what looks good for you; there is no right or wrong, good or bad in art. That's why the call it art.
Amazing tutorial!!!. Learned so much. Have to watch it a couple of more times while going step by step through one of my landscape photos applying your techniques. Just subscribed to your channel and looking forward to going through the other tutorials you linked. Thank You!
So helpful, thank you! Just watching you edit how you edit gives me so many tips and pointers for small things like holding ‘alt’ with certain sliders and what not. Extremely insightful and appreciate this video🔥🤙🏽
ayy this is what i love this video , you include the raw file ! so that i enjoy and follow along with you and now i can see some improvement my edit lightroom ! THANKS MAN HOPEFULLY IF U DO THISS AGAIN PLEASE INCLUDE WITH RAW FILE . THANK YOU
thank you for this! i don't edit photos often because i'm not a photographer so i'm definitely learning at a novice level, but you make it more approachable! cheers!

Very advanced edit. I enjoyed watching the process and your use of all the tools, but I almost feel like you could get a very similar look with a much simpler process. It just seemed like you would remove a lot of stuff to then just reintroduce it later. Of course, I’m sure you are seeing elements within the photo that you would like different during the edit which swayed your choices
What a great channel you have my new Icelandic best friend! I have been f*ck'n around in LR for such a long time because all the other tutorials here on YT are just impossible to watch. You keep it so light and fun. Just great man. Thank you :-)
What an excellent video!! I learned heaps, actually playing you at 0.75 speed for the bits I found tricky. Will definitely be watching your other videos. For the record, in Australia, we usually refer to "lightning clouds" as "storm clouds". Thank you :)

@Rudra Tyagi Why
@Sharishth Tyagi photoshop I'd good for retouching and in depth editing lightroom is good for quick and good editing
Can you do the opposite too? Beginner here; I have a photo with many dark subjects and only one fully white one, so I had to underexpose in order not to lose detail in the white subject.
@@timmyhackings5181 The camera raw filter in photoshop can do everything that is shown in this video and just as easily.

love learning the little things through these - alt on the tone curve was something I never knew!
I love what you did with this photo. I'd have deleted it when I got it into lightroom tbh but it's proof that my 'eye' isn't where it needs to be tbh
Yea I wasn't sure about it first tbh, thought it looked a little (way too) boring and dull but ended up playing with it and loved the results!
