i’ve noticed such an increase of people spoiling books with important scenes but i’ve also seen authors starting to do it now too it’s so annoying like let us read the book!!!!
I love that Sara mentioned using her library! I think it would so fun to see you both use your libraries cause libraries are so different every where and you could do so many fun videos with the library
I do the exact same as Sara and skip reviews especially of books I have my eye on, I don’t want to know anything!!! I just blindly buy books. tbr videos are the best
i relate so heavily to Sara on avoiding anything about a book before you read it. it’s one reason I love both of your content so much, I know I can watch without anything getting spoiled for me!
I will tell you watching Game of Thrones is definitely worth it. I thought I wouldn't like it at first but the plot gets so good, I binged it all in one summer. I think watching the prequel after watching Game of Thrones is a good idea because you have a better understanding of the characters, but it's a personal choice if you watch it before or after
for reading classics i highly recommend reading a chapter and then reading the sparknotes review of that chapter! sparknotes is suuuch a good resource for deciphering tons of classics which i think will help you enjoy reading them more!
Based on the summary of Game of Thrones that most people see or hear about, I would NOT have expected myself to like the show. After randomly deciding to fully watch it in 2020 (all of my friends had already tried to convince me to watch it for 2 years lol), it ended up becoming my absolute favorite show. It sounds super serious and it seems kind of intimidating, but IMO the multiple plot lines and stories throughout the show add depth and make it easier to digest. I will say, after rewatching at least once a year since, the first 1.5 seasons are a little harder to get through in my experience! After s2 it REALLY picks up and s3/s4 are insanely good TV. I watched HOTD when it came out, and I love it just as much as GOT! If I was yall, I would still watch GOT before HOTD, solely because I developed a connection to the Targaryen family through Dany in GOT, which made me actually want to see the history of her family house. I think it'd be interesting to watch HOTD first since it's a prequel, but I don't think you can appreciate all of the different characters that pop up in HOTD, esp from the different prominent houses! Highly recommend giving either show a shot.
I literally used to pick books based on just the description when I was younger but now I have to have heard of it and have read a million reviews before I read it.
in terms of the shadow hunters series, I think the infernal devices books (clockwork angel etc) are so much better than the mortal instruments (City of bones)! Would honestly recommend starting with that even thought the series came out second! xx
@@mackenzieclinton9937 That’s the way I read the series for the first time too! I’m not sure it matters what order you go in really but in terms of personal preference I think the infernal devices shows how Cassandra Clare improved over time. I find the romance in that series especially far more compelling than the mortal instruments!
If you haven’t read them before, Maus by Art Spiegelman and Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi were my favorite nonfiction books I read last year. They both have incredible stories, and they’re graphic novels, which enhanced my enjoyment of reading nonfiction.
The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah is one of my fav books by her!! It’s definitely one of the darker ones she has but it is so beautiful!! The setting of Alaska is so stunning and you connect to it the way you do to her characters! Please read
omg i love u guys you have no idea of how much good you do to my soul lol i feel like we’re real besties talking about everything 😭🩷 kisses from brazil 🇧🇷
The Nightingale quite literally broke me it felt like my heart was being broken piece by piece with every page. I was crying until every last tear was out of my eyes. It was the saddest book I have ever read. Kristen Hannah has a way of writing that is so sad but at the same time so beautiful. So if you haven't read Destiny please do.
I feel like Destiny might like "Adelaide" by Genevieve Wheeler. That book described how I feel about depression to the tea. And I just related to the main character more than I thought I would. It was my most surprising book of the year because I didn't expect to love it as much as I did.🥰
oh my gosh, you need ot watch game of thrones. it's insanely good! there's a reason why everyone is saying HBO should be the streaming service to pick up the ACOTAR movies and it's because of how they handled the GOT franchise.
Destiny, I think you should read The Hobbit as a fantasy classic! Also wondering if you’d like Know My Name by Chanel Miller. A really good nonfiction!
If you are enjoying Kristen Hannah, please read “The Great Alone” it’s intense, but so good. All of my friends and I have read it and we RAVE every time it comes up!!!!
My main goals was I had a “20 books I want to read in 2024” list and I have read 4/20 and then I had 3 series I wanted to read and I am half-way through the 1st series on the list so I think I’m doing okay.
i think powerless by lauren roberts has been my favourite book of the year but i'm so emotionally connected to the MPU that i can't decide between that & into the darkkkk
Not that I want any spoilers but I have only read 50 pages of Magnolia Parks and I don’t know if I want to soft DNF it or not. Can someone just answer yes or no that they do become less toxic overtime and do have a better ending? If it’s a yes I’ll continue it but if it’s a no I don’t think I can go back to it. It’s not because it’s a bad book but it’s because of what this book would do to my mental state
A Book that will make you cry…. Please read Beneath a Scarlet Sky. An epic book based on a true story. Not a typical book that I would pick up but so so glad I did.
Why have a mid year check in video and not have your answers ready if you knew what the goals were. Pleaseee know your answers for your goals next time definitely not prepared. Love you (Des) Tho!!
A new Hunger Games book has been announced and my first thought was to check in on Des. Bestie, I hope you’re doing well with this information. Maybe reading vlog with it🤔🤭🤍
I’ve gotten some bad spoilers for TOG🥲 Some on purpose (I just had to know for my mental health) but one a WEBSITE SEEING IF I SHOULD TANDEM READ? Like why would a page advising whether or not to do the tandem read TELL YOU WHAT HAPPENS AT THE END??
i’ve noticed such an increase of people spoiling books with important scenes but i’ve also seen authors starting to do it now too it’s so annoying like let us read the book!!!!

Why don't you guys watch either GOT or House of dragon and do a reaction podcast/video? It can even be just 1 episode.
