If that were the case, he would feel comfortable going faster. It feels uncontrollable to him. This is why good test drivers are a thing, they can take a raw, unbalanced car and help refine it by communicating with engineers.
@@ryngrd1 disagree here, sorry. it would be nice if it flips but would take away from the original premise of the build imo since it's based on a rustler.
What I love is y'all are like missing the fact that he calls it an RC car when it's a go-kart I mean if you want to keep following this retard to teach you wrong s*** and eventually make this world dumber than it already has been then go ahead
Check front toe with rider weight in seat. It should be slightly toe in for stability. You might have to lengthen the wheel spindle control arms or shorten arm on the rack to tame the steering a little. Awesome build. That motor setup seems perfect.
This. I love the frame design! Would love to see measurements for at least the frame dimensions / layout? I've debated modifying a Tony cart frame, but I'd rather weld it up / modify as needed for my height, myself. The rest seems like it'd be similar to the RC the cars I build for hobby :D
Yeah that was incredibly reckless if that really was his first time driving it, he could have easily lost control, smashed into a parked car, and died from the resulting injuries.
@@Chris-xo2rq Something as simple as one loose bolt that walks itself off some control arm could change that steering from twitchy to witchy in a heartbeat. It's the definition of amateur to leap in where angels fear to tread. Just work your way up folks, it's that easy. Don't be a SpaceX.
What a legend, sees someone pushing their vehicle and immediately wants to check if everything is fine and offers to tow you back home. What a nice human being
No it doesn't that steering wheel is way too small, he has an enormous amount of oversteer. If he goes too fast he will get oscillations and then the wheels will lock to a side and it could flip.
Absolute dream machine, imagine commuting on that Edit: If you wanna make RC content, I'd definitely watch that. I used to be a HUGE RC nerd a decade ago, flying 6ch 450 rize RC helis, doing all the flips and inverted flight n all that. It was so sick

That is BADASS! A sick little MARIOKART! Love how dynamic the suspension is! I would try to find some way to cushion or dampen the (rigid) feel at the steering wheel. A battery upgrade would be huge!
Absolutely crazy! Loved this video! Terrifying though at the same time; I think if you played with this every day, your life expectancy would be zero, lol! Huge props to the gent who gave you the tow - a stand-up dude if ever there was one! Love RC, but not sure I'd like to see it on the channel tbh. Brilliant stuff!
this is awesome.... I wound add some bump stops to the front suspension to keep the frame from bottoming out at 50 mph when going over a manhole cover and soften the rear to keep from over steering all the time.
The number of times I nearly had a heart attack when you were running over the mini rc car is ridiculous. Only to realize in the end the rc car is basically indestructible.😅 FYI you just got a new subscriber, this was fricken awesome.
can you make a video about the design process PLEASE im learning every day more and more about fabrication and this would be such a blessing to have an insight on you design process!!
The craziest part about all of it is that if that go kart had the acceleration of an actual rc buggy (assuming it's a brushless buggy such as the ones raced at tracks) the thing would pull 5-6 g's, rc cars are absolute monsters when it comes to power to weight and the amount of forces that affect those lil' things
That looked insane man! As long as the geometry is the same it should (in theory) behave the same. Definitely a learning curve, but once you get comfortable it’s probably the best
In all honesty, once a person gets a real taste of how fast go karts can be, the dream of owning or building one trumps the dream of owning a super car. Not sure how many people know about super karts, but they can lap a damn Ferrari for 1/10 of the price. Fine piece of work.
Definitely looks like it could be suffering from hard oversteer. Adjusting things like your toe, camber, and possibly stiffing suspension up should help with that.
Would love to see it on a karting track. I think also stiffer spring with a better damper in the front would help with more stability when going fast. Plus it looks like I has a lot of bump steer. You can fix it by making a small change in the steering geometry. And it would be good to give it an alignment with the rider in the kart. With a small toe in it will also give more stability when driving.
Mechanic's advice, it wants to jerk the wheel side to side at speed because it looks like you have a bunch of positive camber. Also possibly the toe is a little weird. I like to 0 out the toe and then go like .1 degrees inward. That should make it a lot more stable at speed.
It's crazy I live in this wild and whacky alternate universe where we have human sized R/C cars that we took the R/C components off and drive them ourselves.. we call them some weird word pronounced "GOCART"...
This is so awesome, love how you made it just like a full on rc car with the shocks and all look to be scale just a lot bigger for the body and speed is awesome.
That's thing looks like SO much FUN to drive and drift around in. Looks to be a tire shredding monster. For some reason I thought you built a life size RC like the scale sized one just bigger. How much did it cost you and how long did it take to build?
You should add a second artick leapord battery in parallel for more range. also can you please make a video on just drifting this epic machine? love your gokart and rc content!

I think he wants the steering so it feels like rc car
What? Isn't it Toe out at front and in at rear for stability? Toe in at front is for more steering response
@@dc-vw4qm toe out would be steering response if if recall, front of the wheel faces slightly out, so it would start the turn sooner
