Stayed there in 2017. Kids loved it. The beaches were a bit Stoney and the liquor options limited. Beyond that, we were close to Ochie, and took the new highway into Kingston. Lovely place.
Being in the hotel business for 20+ years I think I'm qualified to leave an expert opinion. Just got back from the resort and for the most part an enjoyable stay. The food was sub-par as far as the buffet goes. A restaurant that does Hibachi food needs improvement. Staff at the restaurant and chef were outstanding but when chef noticed the hood vent above cooking area was not ventilating she called for help with no reply but we all soldiered on. Good portions of food. 99.9% of staff were warm and friendly as well as helpful with one exception. I went to a beach bar and enjoyed myself in the water (As I was with a group that decided to go on a day trip) and at the beachside bar. All was good for 4+ hours until a snippy bartender (To be fair he seemed to be in a bad mood the whole time I was there as opposed to his teammates and I wished I'd gotten names as all but him were great) decided to tell me that I had to have the premium black band to be there? I'd been there for 4 hours and no complaints? I called the front desk to lodge a complaint with the GM but apparently, he was not available and I had to leave info with customer service. This was our groups next to last day and it ended on a sour note for me. Our group consisted of 12 adults who dropped some major cash for this trip and sorry to say I would not recommend it when there are so many other options.
We hope the relevant authority will see your comment and fix/improve these services. We are happy that for the most part you and the other 11 group members enjoyed the stay in Jamaica.
You said a lot of great things but wouldn't go back? Why wouldn't you recommend going back to the Bahia? I'm really curious because I'm planning my 30th birthday there.
@@itsasia_ For the most part it was great. Beautiful people and nice accomodations. The food (For my guest level) was sub-par. I've got reletives that have went to other Jaimaca resorts with better experiences with the food. If you don't mind eating the same stuff all the time then it's a great place. Great staff etc.
@@itsasia_ Also, if you go don't waste time at the pool when you can go a few yards to the ocean. I unfortunately did that but on the last day discovered the beach.
@@bobsteadman9728 OK thanks for your reply! I hear a lot of these resorts have sucky food. I haven't been to a resort yet so I don't think think I'll be too picky the first time. What is one of the resorts that your relatives said had better food? One thing I'm not looking forward to is traveling to Jamaica and not having authentic food or at least good food. My friends aren't interested in leaving the resort to get some real food. lol. There are so many resorts to choose from that it's giving me a headache.
