Insightful explanation on a level of detail I found nowhere else. A start with the basics. Thanks.

Amazing video that helped me with my final research project for physics. Im glad I chose the topic of the LHC, as it is actually a very fascinating project. Thank you for this video.🙏👍(also, I immediately noticed the green screen but it was a nice addition)

how kind of them to let you film a 19 minute video inside the tunnel!

If I am correct, the cable material currently used in the LHC is NbTi for the dipoles. The new magnets that are planned will be built later in Nb3Sn. 😉

15:09 "Nobillium" - Element Nb is Niobium, though.

So do the particles in the LHC age faster than us or slower than us? I know how moving at the speed of light in space compared to us on earth age (extremely slower), but how does it work on earth?

14:50 Can the magnetic strength of the superconducting magnets be measured in electron volts?

    • @PhysicsHigh
      @PhysicsHigh  10 місяців тому

No. Magnetic field strength is measured in Tesla. In the case of the dipoles that bend the beam, they are around 8 Tesla.
Electron volts are units for energy. Election volt is in effect an extremely small unit for energy.

170 "Big Macs"? Like the burger? We're measuring particle energy in terms of calories? Isn't that a dangerously convoluted way of measuring things?
While we're at it...Why don't we make things even more complicated and declare that a foot is 13 inches for this experiment. Oh!! And let's do all the math using Roman numerals. Lol

But what's the point? What are they wanting to accomplish?.. You know what I mean?
They don't know what it's going to do?...
It's like when they set off the 1st atom bomb
And stood back and said.. "Oooooh..that's what that does?"... What's the Point of it
Are you going to make a car that runs in it!
Is it for an ultimate weapon?.. like what is the bottom to the bone point?
I'm just being real.. it wasn't a full day after the wright brothers created the air plane that somebody walked up, took a bite out of an apple and said " Ya know, I bet you could kill people with that"?... It's just how we are wired
    Man is inherently evil
