I brought home a kitten and he took to my pit, as well. He started nursing on my pit's big lips, and did so for 5 years until my pit passes away a few months back. It took a very long time for my cat to stop looking for him after he passed. It was very sad, but the memories of them together are precious.
😩 breaks my heart…..loss is the hardest thing to go through, for humans and fur babies 😞
My cat would also sleep with my dog a lot of times and they chill together, when my dog passed my cat was looking for him around the yard, funny interaction but honestly my dog was always okay with cats i've had just as well as the cats were not aggressive at him but rather slept together at night and they would only antagonize each other for food.

Don't wanna be that guy, but yes, is common knowledge that dogs are used for emotional support, even for cats, especially for cheetahs, who are depressed in captivity. Dogs help them a lot ❤️

Especially since that story on the news several years ago of a gorilla who used sign language to ask a man to help him break out of a zoo.

@@dylanjones268 I watched it on the news probably 5 or 6 years ago. It was sad. But I went looking for the video and found a lot of videos of monkeys, orangutans and gorillas using sign language to visitors at various zoos. So I would have responded sooner but got sidetracked due to the number of videos.

My lab/pit mix and my kitten became immediate friends . They were so funny and tender together..Both are gone now but lived good and long lives.True blue loving pals.

Love this story 🥰 but it gave me anxiety waiting for her to say she was taking kitty to the vet to get checked out but she doesn’t say she ever did🤷♀️
Yes I thought the same thing. Maybe she did but didn't mention it because there were no problems? But I would still let everyone know a vet saw the kitty at some point early on.
She mentioned that at day 4 'he still had mange on him and stuff'. So she knew it was mange and probably had bought some medicine for it and was applying it. For only a few days later the cat's skin is clearing up.
This story was totally Beautiful. Touched my Heart and I was so happy something worked out for that tiny fur baby with a dog to love him and protect him. Thank You Jesus!!!

Gentle natured cats are the kind that are highly adaptable to their environment and thus can get along well with multiple cats and other pets. Even if a child touches them or hugs them, they are not likely to get angry and scratch them. However, just because they are gentle and don't get angry too much doesn't mean that you can't touch them all the time or pull on their ears or tail. Although they are not very angry, they may be stressed out, so it is important to play with them often or leave them alone

I hate how people think by stereotype that dogs are complete opposites to cats, it is very wrong!
Wish more fosters and rescuers would utilize sleeping in same room as the rescued at LEAST the first few days.
Showing them the dominant human can let their guard down a number of hours and really just put the animals at ease. Under-utilized :(
