Star fox assault was awesome i loved every second of it and i hope that if they DO make another one than you'll be able to walk around and explore just like star fox adventures (loved all of that one too)
Star Fox 2 happens to have my favourite Nintendo logo of all time, followed by the one in Eternal Darkness. Seriously, the Mirage Dragon just blasts through it. That is being creative. Argonaut Software kicked ass.
I've never really played any of these games before but I've seen alot of walkthroughs and reviews and I did alot of research. It looks like a really cool franchise.
Wow! The graphics on the DS (especially the landscape) are better than I expected! Maybe that's 'cuz the only time I played it was through DS Download Play, with reduced graphics.
when I was a kid, I would always rent a n64 game from blockbuster. one of them was starfox 64. I LOVED IT!!! you fly around a shoot everything and your path. sounds dull, but theres so much action going on.
as a nintendo fan I'll always love Mario legend of Zelda star fox I grew up with it I'd never stop loving the games and star fox.is one of my all time favorites I love the classics straight to the today games nintendo shall always live on and bring us awesome games that no one shall forget =]
I read an article once that said realistic fur was unpopular with players. So they changed his Fuzzy 'Adventures' and 'Assault' designs for command. I don't think he's going longhair anytime soon.
Those who grew up with Star Fox will be glad to hear this one. If the Turkish gaming news site Nintendocu is to be believed, then Nintendo Power will be revealing a Star Fox game for the Wii on their next issue. The New Star Fox game will be called Star Fox Wii: Battle for Corneria. About the only details in the rumor thus far is that the game will have Wii MotionPlus support and an "Online Space Battle Mode" with Wii Speak support capabilities.
@Hopding Nope cause there going to reveal their next system next week and probably release it next year so if there is going to be one it will be on that system, they are remaking Star Fox 64 for the 3DS so that might be used to jump start for new Star Fox game
I did like the first ending, it shows possible potential for a sequel with Dash as the new SF villain. I made a whole Fanfiction series, it even has Miyu and Fara along with the classic StarFox Team and Krystal, StarWolf as villains. Dinosaur Planet occurances. (meets Ghost Sabre) as well as Master Randorn
@nomonchaudhry actually it's widely available for download and able to be played by most SNES emulators. Now finding an english version is a bit harder but doable.
Of these games, my favorites were 64, and my most favorite is Assault. Especially the multiplayer in it. The story is also good. Does anyone have any pics or demos about the one for Wii?
I honestly dont know why everyone hates on Star Fox Command. In my opinion though, I think that if Nintendo decides to continue with the Star Fox series, they should focus on Star Wolf! A whole game dedicated to Star Wolf. Cause with Star Wolf, anything could go for the storyline. And base it off the ending(original one) of Command, where Krystal joins Star Wolf, that way, you still have 3 pilots to look after while your fighting the good fight!
Here's a bit of history (though fairly obvious to most SF fans) Originally, Starfox Adventures was suppose to be a N64 game called Dinosaur planet. None of the starfox characters were even in it....but Rare decided to turn it into a Starfox game since their starfox project at the time wasn't seeing much love.
64 and Assault are the only ones I enjoy the most. Although I do agree that the games went down hill fast after 64. The creators did mention they may make a new one for the Wii U
I got a great idea for a wii starfox game tehy should make an arwing that slips on the wii remote and its all motion scence BUT its easy to control unlike SOME games i know..>_> and the nunchuck can be used to drop bombs while the B button shoots the lasers adn when your on foot you take off the arwing and walk with the anolog stick and for the land master you could hold the wii remote like a stearing wheel (or if you realy want to you could get teh stearing wheel for the wii)
ok, 1 question. where did u get that whole remix of all those songs, and the 1 at the end after "Star Fox Wii"? do u think u could send those 2 me? i wanna use them 4 my Star Fox CAWs in SVR 09, lol. awesome vid btw.
If you ask me, the SNES dynamic duo were the ultimate games! Lylat wars (starfox 64) was great, too. However, it then all went all downhill from there. :-(
Learn to read. Some people mentioned that there was a Starfox game on the Atari. There WAS a game on the Atari called Star Fox, but it had nothing to do with this. The only impact it had on the games was a trademark issue forcing Nintendo to rename the first two games for the european market, Starwing and Lylat Wars respectively.
STARFOX AND HALO think about it fox alongside master chief that would be AWESOME!!! rob and sparky and falco and johnson come on you cant say that would not be cool its not possible for that not to be cool
@kurby345 command has like 9 endings, it couldnt possibly be cannon, and no i wouldnt say that, sense starfox is in pretty high demand right now. ppl really want it for wii and if it doesnt happen than most likely it could possibly be a starting lineup game for the next console.
Yeah thats a very nice history movie. Its very pitty that Star Fox 2 is unreleased but I saw some weeks ago a bootleg on ebay with maunal and a gamebox.
First I do not count simple gimmicks like the Wii remote or adding built in flash memory for save games, as those are simple additions. The Wii and Game Cube share Processor, memory speed and amount. The GPU in the Wii is only a slight improvement over the GPU in the 'Cube. So yes they are slight different, but enough to call the Wii an actual Generation 7 console.
for Star Fox Wii they should make it FPS and still have the ability to change to 3rd person, plus the Wii remote would work WONDERS for controlling your Arwing it would be a SWEET game indeed!
Has anyone ever tried Namco's STARBLADE? (The game is available in Tekken 5 for the PS2) The shooter game and the graphics are very similar to the first StarFox.
Good review, Starfox history in a nutshell. I really liked the part of Starfox 2, you should've had all the games reviewed like that. (Only complaint, why didn't you point out Star Wolf at the Starfox 64?)
I really liked some of the features of the SNES starfox 2, how you could actually chose which pilot went with you. I think they should have implimented this in the ones to follow, but, whatever right? =P
Actually the first "Star fox" was released for the Atari in the early 80's. It was one of the more rare games. Due to the copyright not being filed in US, Nintendo could make its own version, but when released in Europe it was released as "Starwing" Or "Lylet wars". So Technically the Atari version is the 1st.
Man, I was seven when I last played a Star Fox game. 'Twas at my grandma's house. Nevertheless the game touched me and I've always looked into it. I know that Fox's original eye colour was grey, though they made it green (boo!) and I thought Wolf was a Gray wolf - my second guess would have to be arctic.
You could put Super Smash Bros., WarioWare: Smooth Moves and tell that the Red Alarm for Virtual Boy was an attempt to create a Star Fox game for the system (i think that way). And now, there's a mini game in the WarioWare: D.I.Y.
@EagleKammback Extreme detail graphics aren't going to happen on Wii, just because it's no more powerful than the Gamecube. However there is a fan-man Starfox game coming out sometime in the next few years called "Shadows of Lylat" which will push most PC's to their limits.
You mean the boss on the hard route? Yeah, it's the Assault Carrier, which was the boss on Corneria on Route 1 in the original. One of the few direct references to the original game since the 64 version bascially retold the story.
be nice if someone made a mod of this game on freespace opensource , then you have detailed ships and mind blowing atmosphere , even if it was a recreation of the first game it be awesome
This was made 3 years ago, and this is still true. When will they make a Starfox for the Wii? It's been 4 ****** years. It's about time they made one! And with no Starfox at E3 2010, Starfox Command might have been the last one.
Miyu's Arwing looks like the Vic Viper from Gradius, hehehe. Too bad Star Fox 2 was never officially released. She kicks ass, seems really cool in all situations. To quote her after defeating Andross: "What are you talking about? Pah." Like "Yeah we just blasted the ape to atoms and saved the Lylat system. So...what's for dinner?"
Not so bad. Music wise it was ok, but i think it would have had a better effect if you started off with the original Corneria theme and worked your way up trough the updated versions, but thats just me. Overall, a good video on the development of starfox.
I think that the Adventures model is the best because Fox's fur was more accurate looking (same ges with Krystal). Even the blades of grass were done indivisually. In other words Fox and Krystal looked most realistic in that game, as if that's what they look like outside the game and in OUR world.
Over a decade old and still awesome. Ah, the old days of UA-cam.......
2021 and I still return to this video
It's amazing how the graphics of this series evolved over the years..:)
9 years later...
Towards the end: Thanks for watching.
My reply: Thanks for making this video! I'm a StarFox fan. This is one of the best videos I've seen!
Well we finally know that Star Fox Zero started out a as a tech demo for the Wii and became nothing more until recently. Now we know.
Nice Sharing My Friend!
Good Day my friend!
God bless you!
it hasn't been confirmed but im sure there will be eventually
The "Star Fox Remix", I mean.
Star fox assault was awesome i loved every second of it and i hope that if they DO make another one than you'll be able to walk around and explore just like star fox adventures (loved all of that one too)
"Do a barrel roll!"
Mostly i like all except command (what a twist XD) TEEHEE
Most favoraite: Star Fox Adventure & Star Fox Assault
:3
maybe, everyone has their own preferences
the game that i enjoyed playing most was starfox assult. i loved that game when i played it. aparoids aparoids aparoids!
that was very cool to see all of the starfox games well most
Star Fox 2 happens to have my favourite Nintendo logo of all time, followed by the one in Eternal Darkness. Seriously, the Mirage Dragon just blasts through it. That is being creative. Argonaut Software kicked ass.
I've never really played any of these games before but I've seen alot of walkthroughs and reviews and I did alot of research. It looks like a really cool franchise.
yup that was me
Wow! The graphics on the DS (especially the landscape) are better than I expected! Maybe that's 'cuz the only time I played it was through DS Download Play, with reduced graphics.
Thanks for this video-it was TOTALLY helpful.
I didn't even know there were other games!
Thanks, that was a neat summary of Star Fox history. I definitely need to get the GC games.
when I was a kid, I would always rent a n64 game from blockbuster. one of them was starfox 64.
Starfox is gonna be the next Halo....
I can see it happening...
Don't flame me.
I loved the music in this! It sounded like OC Remix~
STAR FOX WIIU 2015
Star Fox 2.. on the SUPER NINTENDO... AND it's UNreleased...THIS IS THE GREATEST VIDEO
Everytime I hear the opening music for the original StarFox on the SNES, I feel like I'm once again a kid in the third grade playing it in the store.
I read an article once that said realistic fur was unpopular with players. So they changed his Fuzzy 'Adventures' and 'Assault' designs for command. I don't think he's going longhair anytime soon.
Thanks a lot for this video.
Il love Starfox, its characters and its history

whoa Star Fox 2 looked awesome, and that Miyu tiger girl blew a kiss to him lol.
Nostalgia is hitting like a freight train. Time to bust out the SNES!
@nomonchaudhry actually it's widely available for download and able to be played by most SNES emulators. Now finding an english version is a bit harder but doable.
Far out man, cool video. I wish they would release one on the next Wii, with extreme detailed graphics too. Or could make a neat movie
whats the name of the medley of the starfox music
Check out the Star Fox 2 article on wikipedia. There's a picture of the box that was to be released.
I played the StarFox Assault one. I still have it for GameCube. :D Love it!!
WOW! A starfox 64 remake? thanks for telling me that i didnt know I also noticed theyre remaking ocarin of time for the 3ds
Of these games, my favorites were 64, and my most favorite is Assault. Especially the multiplayer in it. The story is also good. Does anyone have any pics or demos about the one for Wii?
@zkrings Kinda. A lot of ideas from Star Fox 2 was used in Star Fox 64.
I honestly dont know why everyone hates on Star Fox Command.
In my opinion though, I think that if Nintendo decides to continue with the Star Fox series, they should focus on Star Wolf! A whole game dedicated to Star Wolf. 64 and Assault are the only ones I enjoy the most. Although I do agree that the games went down hill fast after 64. The creators did mention they may make a new one for the Wii U
you can find it on the internet... though it still would rock to have a cart version of it.
I got a great idea for a wii starfox game tehy should make an arwing that slips on the wii remote and its all motion scence BUT its easy to control unlike SOME games i know..>_> and the nunchuck can be used to drop bombs while the B button shoots the lasers adn when your on foot you take off the arwing and walk with the anolog stick and for the land master you could hold the wii remote like a stearing wheel (or if you realy want to you could get teh stearing wheel for the wii)
lol thats not me playing i only have the snes games recordable 64 assaut adventures and command were video footage off ign and other game sites
dam i want star fox 2, i still have my old snes, and apparently on wikipedia, it shows a game called star fox from the late 80's on atari 2600.
ok, 1 question. where did u get that whole remix of all those songs, and the 1 at the end after "Star Fox Wii"? do u think u could send those 2 me? i wanna use them 4 my Star Fox CAWs in SVR 09, lol. awesome vid btw.

Wii Speak capabilities? Oh god, we'll have DO A FREAKING BARREL ROLL being shouted at us for ever.
Nice video, man.
Correction, the name of the game would be Stairfax Temperatures ;)
and it was for the GameCube
Learn to read. Some people mentioned that there was a Starfox game on the Atari. There WAS a game on the Atari called Star Fox, but it had nothing to do with this. STARFOX AND HALO think about it fox alongside master chief that would be AWESOME!!! rob and sparky and falco and johnson come on you cant say that would not be cool its not possible for that not to be cool
Star Fox rock theme, I'd love to have that.
@kurby345
command has like 9 endings, it couldnt possibly be cannon, and no i wouldnt say that, sense starfox is in pretty high demand right now. ppl really want it for wii and if it doesnt happen than most likely it could possibly be a starting lineup game for the next console.
what is the name of the exact song that starts at 0.53? I love it and i havent heard (and cant find) this version of the song!
when u watch this u can see how much star fox has advanced through the years
Yeah thats a very nice history movie.
Its very pitty that Star Fox 2 is unreleased but I saw some weeks ago a bootleg on ebay with maunal and a gamebox.

I really liked some of the features of the SNES starfox 2, how you could actually chose which pilot went with you. I think they should have implimented this in the ones to follow, but, whatever right? =P
I agree with you, maybe they thought the rights were held with Rare, like that would ever happen XD
Assault multiplayer is EPIC get it just for the multi player even with a wii and SSBB starfox assault multiplayer is my fav. Game EVER
Cool. Nice compilation.
I've played starfox 2, it really was a fun game though, you can get it as a rom from
rom-world, that's how I got it
True, but the gameplay is stellar.
Hideki Kamiya might make the next StarFox. If he did, my head would explode.
@starfox640000 its called "space battleground", but this sounds like a different version
There is a starfox 2 on DS, if you're willing to go to england or japan. I think there might be some copies in the US, but idk
@kurby345
i doubt it, sense command is no longer cannon, and nintendo games in high demand usually get updated to a newq sequel, note DKC and even pit
Actually the first "Star fox" was released for the Atari in the early 80's. It was one of the more rare games. i have every starfox game that has ever been made (even "starwing holiday editon") and starfox2 (it's a emulated game because it never got released.)
i have a tie between adventures,64,and command.if you ask me,all three are awsome
my favorite line in all the games is falco saying 'hold still and let me shoot you' star fox64
That was really good, Great video fox.
I think Star Fox 64 was released under the name Lylat Wars in the UK.
star fox wii, im still praying for that
Man, I was seven when I last played a Star Fox game. 'Twas at my grandma's house. Nevertheless the game touched me and I've always looked into it. which version on 'corneria' is this? Its really good!
@Jinjonator1 You've probably already heard about it but, they announced Star Fox 64 for the 3DS.

N64 and sega genisis are two neck to neck rivals.
Oh, man!!!!! That rocks! Is there a soundtrack for the music? If so, i need it!
if they ever make one......... i was hoping for one this year at E3 but sadly nothing
You mean the boss on the hard route? Yeah, it's the Assault Carrier, which was the boss on Corneria on Route 1 in the original. One of the few direct references to the original game since the 64 version bascially retold the story.
I have never seen the character screen for Star Fox 2 on the SNES. Who are those two characters at the end after Slippy?
be nice if someone made a mod of this game on freespace opensource , then you have detailed ships and mind blowing atmosphere , even if it was a recreation of the first game it be awesome

star fox 64 was the best i cant wait 2 play it on the 3ds
where did you find the remix??
Not so bad.
Music wise it was ok, but i think it would have had a better effect if you started off with the original Corneria theme and worked your way up trough the updated versions, but thats just me.
