Hi Ed, I've watched quite a few of your vids. For my money this is the nicest so far. Didn't you have a 70's tash before ? All the best. Dave

Hi Ed This Pond absolute triumph, now its had best part of a year to mature and with the beautiful lawn cut in semi circles along with the trees and shrubs that Dan was planting last time you visited and the polished water quality Crystal Clear could be one of yours. Glad to see the skimmer i thought last autumn that one was needed. but Oase phew thats a hell of a price.

i absolutely love this pond, it is a classic example of what pond keeping should be, well thought out, well maintained and an owner connected to the experience and allowing it be a place of joy. Love it

Thanks Paul-even better still it’s in the garden of a hotel/restaurant, so anyone can purchase a beverage, sit down and enjoy the pond! 🍺🥳😋

From the u.s.a. here. Love your videos. Love your work. Appreciate all the helpful tips. My only request, is more about the fish. Handling, moving, and generally see them more. I enjoy every video I have watch. Much respect to your back braking work, and the rewards. Also your passion for the job. A tip of the hat to you good sir.

Hi Jim, thanks for your kind words and for your suggestions- I’ll try and include more footage of the livestock in new videos when given the opportunity and will make a video about handling fish in the future!

Ed, amazing talented work mate. Truly impressed with your abilities and work ethics to.
Can I ask, beside my house bordering the property, there's a drainage ditch from a country road. Always clean and clear. It runs about 40metres with about a 30feet drop. Considering terracing with several water falls. Should I gravel its bed? No other pond life to be added, all totally natural, but will be very sensitive for the natural wildlife that it is currently home to.
Watched and subscribed to all of your content. Very impressed. Have shared with my whole family.

Evening Anthony, thanks for the praise and glad you enjoy the vids! How lucky you are to have such a natural feature you can tap into in the garden!! With such a fall from one side of the garden to the other it sounds like its crying out for some landscaping (simple dams will suffice) to create some falls. As for gravelling; as its natural (and not lined) i’d leave it as it is, its likely that any gravel you put down will very quickly get covered in sediment carried down the ditch in any case. Assuming it’s simply a bare earth/mud base id leave it like this. Space permitting possibly create some marginal planting areas that are filled with gravel and retained with rock but be mindful of not constricting the ditch (which could prevent issues further upstream for neighbours during very wet weather!) and be wary that during winter storms deluges of water may wash away any planting. I’ve worked in a few gardens with similar ditches that have been ‘tarted’ up in such a way, some even enlarging sections of the ditch to create larger pools. Sounds like a fun project- good luck!

      Ed

Hi Ed, random question. What is the black fish safe silicone you use, I’ve seen you use it a few times. Thanks.👍🏼

Hi there Dave, the product I use most frequently is called ‘wet water sticky stuff’ sometimes abbreviated to ‘WWSS sealant’. Another similar product is made by either Gold label and Oase-readily available from most aquatic outlets or online.
