Just like luis Miguel, jose jose jose Feliciano is a legend. 🇲🇽🇵🇷 I have family in adjuntas
I stayed in Ponce last year and visited Dorado, Quebradillas, Manatí, Lares and a few others. We drove up straight through Adjuntas every time. Amazing sights!
Back
Nice video and very nice background music. Back in 1972, I was assigned to the 702nd Light Maintenance Battalion, Camp Casey, Korea. I replaced a soldier who was from Adjuntas, he was very happy to have finished his 13 month tour in Korea and could not wait to go back to his beloved Adjuntas. In my 21 years in the U.S. Army, this guy was the only one from the town of Adjuntas, maybe that is why this guy has stayed on my mind all these years. I had coworkers from all over Puerto Rico, some of them had a relative or a friend who fought and died in Vietnam. I was one of the lucky ones, who went to Korea instead of Vietnam. When I finished all my training (November 1971) there were only 150k soldiers left in Vietnam. Most of the U.S. infantry who were in country, were there to guard the equipment that was in the process to be issued to South Vietnam. Out of the 150K soldiers left in Vietnam, the majority of the soldiers there had my MOS (military occupational skill) and back then, Korea was the hot spot, so that is how I ended up in Korea and I earned a combat medal (Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal) for playing soldier in the Land of the Morning Calm. A few years early (1967-1970) a few American soldiers lost their life for doing the same thing that I did in 1972 and later 1983, 1984, 1985 (yearly deployment with the 25th Infantry Division Hawaii) and in 1990 instead of doing 12 months in Korea, I served 18 months due to the war in Iraq. A year later I retired with honor and with many fond memories. Served with two Armored Divisions and four Infantry Divisions.
and I thought I moved a lot as a kid! Your vlogs often feature the one corner of the island to which I had never been- the southwest- so it's very enjoyable and motivating- I'll be visiting this area soon, I hope. The music is also authentically representative of my years on the island. As you said...it brings back great memories...Thanks.
Cabo Rojo and other SW area are among my faves. But there is so much variety on the island!
I'm so glad!
Wow that mountainous area you zoomed in on is beautiful, man! I would love to have a house out there high up on mountain. That surely looks so so peaceful. Thanks Ovi for getting that on film. Man my heart aches for the island. I miss it so so much😢 Hopefully one day in the near future I will be able to take trip down. Thank you once again Ovi!
I so agree with you Louis. Thanks Ovi!
You and me both!
Thank you so much. I loved it.
Hey, I think I've mentioned this to you before at a previous video, I also attended La Escuela Espino in Lares. Good old memories in the 80s. Thank you for sharing.
So cool!
I worked in Adjuntas tambien
I traveled many times from San Sebastián to Ponce using the back roads of Lares and Adjuntas. Its the quickest way in my opinion avoiding the treacherous traffic of the highway #2

Geography is breathtaking, but architecture is crap. darn
Your're absolutely right that fact is evident all around the Island. Puerto Rico deserves better.
90% of the homes look like little jails.
Yesterday I was googling some information about Adjuntas and today your video popped up. It's like magic. Nice video.
Awesome! Thank you!
