Plus dont forget these new familiars need to be summoned by sending a spellcaster on your field with a specific attribute to be able to pull off these effects. So unless you are willingly able to put a Spellcaster monster to a Water based deck like Deep Sea, Marincess, Mermails, etc, then you'd be able to pull off this gimmick.

Btw, was threatened by a player that he would burn injection if I pulled it out on him using the trap. For Synchro plays there is a water 1500 def tuner. Also doing research there are some 1500 attack monsters that the field is able to pull to hand using dark spell casters. Am researching ways they interact with each other still.
Hey, Worms are actually good by old-school casual standards. Still the best most playable and coherent Reptile archetype too. More of a commentary on the state of the game than their own quality, but you take what you can get from big daddy Konmoney.
I actually really love that we're getting structure decks that try to build up old underdeveloped archetypes rather than just reinforcing existing meta archetypes. Also I'm pretty sure they just merge with their familiars willingly, not get taken control of.
I used to play back when I was a teen, and the Charmers were my favourite 'archetype', before Lyna and Darhc were even a thing. I've kinda been keeping track of the recent support, and I gotta say, you cast excellently, I love it. That being said, I can't say I like the direction the game's gone in... it's all combos all the time, and it just doesn't look fun to play or play against?
I think I would replace Accesscode with Avramax. It is a great secondary target to go into with IP and would have actually won you that last game. You can't even capitalize off of Accesscode that much since almost all your Link monsters are Dark.
I sure hope they get released. But I also hope they don't become abused in other decks. I feel like they should be the link-3 boss monster for the Charmers and should try it's best to benefit them and only them or at least with Spellcaster decks too.
I've spent many hours trying to get charmers to work and compete with meta decks. The angle I ended up going for was rank 9 spam control deck. Get out Calamaties, interrupt their plays while also adjusting the enemy's elements to be whatever you want. Then you can actually use the charmers for their intended purpose; stealing important shit (Because you're adjusting their elements you can get away with only running 2 elements instead of 5). There's also a bit of synergy between the charmer archtype and true kings, and you end up getting a lot of value whenever your stuff is destroyed. If you can get your set up done, the deck is super resilient and has ridiculous plays, but if your hand isn't great it has a bit of a weak early game which sometimes just leads to a loss. As part of the rank 9 spam you also get to use shadolls and get free value when they're destroyed too, can be pretty nasty. Haven't tried anything with dragma though so I want to use some of the ideas here and see if I can upgrade it farther.
With more supports coming in to main sets I have high hopes they would eventually be more useful to the competitive scene. For now they now have potential to be on the rogue side. They just need to finish giving us the Light and Dark supports, the Wind and Water awakened Familiars (which will be really insane for disrupting opponent's), and new continuous spell/trap cards that have the necessary effects the deck still lacks to help make them a very viable pure deck without needing an engine to support it so much.
Well i'm using a very different deck but still using dragma, elemental grace doraido with the 6 familiar possessed (not charmed maybe in side deck). The 2 possessed traps can SS Ecclesia, the Field spell also interacts with ecclesia. Until now i have pretty good duels using my deck. The problem with the awakening of the possessed is that we need another card to make easier to play them (maybe a token generator)

I felt like these tokens should be made as substitutes for any Charmer monster in summoning a Familiar-Possessed monster from the deck. There needs to be a support card that grants the Familiar-Possessed monsters additional effects so that they actually have more purpose to be used on the field for more consistency and synergy.

IDK if I just had bad draws for like 2 hours straight, but this deck is bricky as hell. The number of times I ended up with no extender or only extenders was ridiculous. The fact you have to run 3x of 3 extenders and then another 3x of both baby charmers really hurts consistency more than I thought it would. If you ever come back around to Charmers MBT give the Charmer Magistus stuff a look. It still pairs well with Ecclesia/Dogmatica well, but is much more consistent since it isn't reliant on so many LV1 extenders or bricky Baby Charmers and gets to its cards primarily through Zoroa/Witch Interactions.
Let's hope we could get better supports for Charmers in the near future. I'm a fan of the archetype so I was excited they got a structure deck however the supports we were given for them could have done a better job and do what the archetype was meant to do in the first place. Not to mention how we got snubbed from getting more than 5 support cards, unlike Sacred Beast who managed to get 9. Konami please complete this archetype, you have been leaving this archetype incomplete for a decade now and it's about time they should get all the support they need now to at least stand a chance in rogue plays

Like other decks like dragma are great for it... but thats for any deck. And yeah I kinda felt the structure was lackluster with how little supports we were given knowing how Sacred Beast were given 9 cards and Konami just gave us Tokens as substitutes for the additional new cards in which we dont even have a support card to generate the tokens to begin with. At least for now these supports can give the deck better consistency but they do lack a win condition and better control of their disruptions. They'll definitely be given new supports in upcoming main sets like hopefully in Phantom Rage or possibly in Blazing Vortex. The new Wind and Water familiar will absolutely be more useful for disruptions because they will share the same effects as the Spiritual Art trap card where Wind will spin a card from the opponent's field to the bottom of the deck and Water will discard a card from your opponent's hand to the GY. With the other missing cards from the archetype like the Light and Dark Charmers getting a link monster and their retrain familiars, there should be more supports cards that involving them with artworks of them and have some Hidden City flip effects and disruptions as well as a Plunder Patroll Booty for its attribute based summons, disruptions and searches.
It is. We dont get the water or wind awakened familiar. The field spell is pretty bad and the fire awakened only burns. So yeah... the deck still does nothing besides slow beatdown.
The field spell's main issues are that (1) its search is net neutral and very specific, and (2) the monster effect negation is basically a "Magician's Third Hand" with further conditions...
The field spell has its benefits for that negation effect but it needed to be better to affect Charmers more rather than be a Familiar search engine, which we dont normally need for the archetype cuz these cards are just an icing on the cake for extra summons. The field spell should have had something attribute based to maybe change any monster or even all of your opponent's monster on their field to the same attribute as any Charmer monster on the field (even when it's in the GY), this effect should be applied as a quick effect when a Charmer monster is flipped summoned.

You can easily build around each charmer in their own deck, but to put them all into one deck is a nightmare but doable.
