13+ minutes of really helpful and practical advice. Greatly appreciated, Omar.
Hi Omar. I like when you make this kind of videos, like those about lightning. Not so many views as with gear, so, thank you for keeping on doing them! :)
Your clarification of asking for permission was spot on. Especially with a client (or clients parent) it’s just more professional.
This is a seriously good video Omar as was another instructional video you made called
`Getting Beautiful Lighting from just 3 Speedlights! Temple Shoot.'
You're actually a really good teacher man and would love to see more of these. You'd be a great teacher in a photography school is what I'm thinking. You should consider it because your hands on teaching is really very good. Practical classes with you would be very popular, I imagine. I just imagine if I had you as a tutor back in photography school you'd be my dead set fave man. Love the respect you show for other people too.
Shot and run. Best advice ever! 😅
Awesome video. The sample images at the different locations is a nice touch.
I seriously smile during every video of yours. Thank you for being you and enjoying what you do....it shows!!! Not to mention you are awesome at what you do!!! Have a great day ; )
‘0:58 texture. Loved that shot… and all your talking and walking it through. So enjoyable, helpful and engaging to watch. 🙏🏽
As a hobbyist, I learned a lot from this video. Thank you Omar!
Oh my gosh, Omar. You had me laughing hard at least 3 times during this video, I had to rewind a bit because I couldn't concentrate on what you said next. ("Omar from the future", cracked me up) Anyway, you offer such valuable information and I learn a ton by watching you. Thanks for making the learning experience super fun.
Great video, Omar. Your videos are not just useful but diverting. Keep it up!
Great Video Omar Gonzalez. Learning by doing and learning from your stories. Thank you. Wonderful Pictures.
Lovely video full of good shots and inspirations. Thanks Omar!
beautifully done, great work as always,
I'm big into the Fujifilm system and method. I'm guess a Fuji film fan boy.
I love love love your videos!!! Im learning so much already.
Love this so much! Gonna go out and find some locations to shoot. Love watching your videos, funny and very helpful 😊
Very helpful tips. Thank you.
Man Omar, your videos always have this uplifting vibe to them!
I love your work, thanks for sharing your process.
*FUN FACTS*
The Model-Omar POP-UP 7 times in this video 😂
Great informative video. Well done and I will be using some of your tips tomorrow!!
That was great thank you ... I can never get too much portrait shooting advice !
"Wow! Look at that guy!" "Wooooowww! Oh my gosh...." I rewound that three times. I did much laughing.
Loved all of this. I was torn between commenting on your kid asking politely (good parenting) and how awesome your eye is for seeing textures. Can't wait to use these tips with my mini tomorrow! Thanks as always.
Omar, some great advice in simple locations, love it!
Some really good advice, thanks Omar!
Super helpful info and perspectives from a clear professional! Omar! This was a great video!
Interesting and useful ideas here. Thank you Omar. I suppose it’s best to scout the area a day or two before the shoot so as to advise the subjects what colours they might wear if/when strong colours are in the background.
Great advice, Omar! Thanks for your videos, that you always make with a sense of humor. 👍🏻
Omar, this is awesome…REALLY AWESOME! What an inspiration ! Bravo! 👏 👏 👏
Great vidéo, thanks ! Love your work.
This is so great; such helpful, practical advice, and a total pleasure to watch as always. Thank you!
Very helpful. I always struggle with backgrounds and this provided some good suggestions for how to think about it and to make better choices.
Great video, plenty of tips and nice shots. I will replay this one a few times later !
This is wonderful, Omar. Understanding the thought process of an established photographer really helps budding photographers. Thanks for the video. Cheers.
Lots of good ideas and information here Omar. Thanks.
Great video! The reviews are good but really appreciate these type of tips and example videos. Makes me want to go out and shoot portraits. Thanks! 👍
Great video. Lots of good ideas and advice. Looking forward to more like this. I enjoy watching your training videos. Thanks
This is such an amazingly helpful video. So cram packed of great tips and adding your gorgeous photos in there so helpful!!! And it goes without saying , the comedic faces and voices. 😂. “Just shoot…and RUN!” 🤣
Hey Omar! Great content! I always seem to end up in a park-like setting. I've been playing catch-up on your videos since discovering you. Jersey guy as well, so same sense of humor! Keep up the great work!
Great! Super interesting and creative sample shots. Gratulation from a german fan 👏🏻😊 Omar: one of world -wide top five UA-cam channels regarding photography 👋🏻
I have been struggling with finding places for environmental portraits, thank you so much, this was extremely informative and very helpful!!
Thanks once again for a splendid video - appreciate all of them them so much in my own "education programme" as an amateur :) .. Pls keep on continuing .. I need to learn a lot more.
Great video, so useful Omar!
Still looks like a lot of "walkabout" between locations. Loved the "shoot and run" advice. Enjoyed the video.
Thanks for the tips.
OMG… The pop up Omar’s….😝😝😝
What a great video!
Now I have all your secrets!! Boohahaha!! The Portrait World is mine!!!!
Great video Brother. Love Popup Omar lol
Some very interesting, and helpful, ideas.
Great video. Thank you
Great video Mr. Omar
Great stuff. Ty
Another GREAT video Omar! 👌👍🔝 I would like to see a follow up with your ways to set up lighting in the streetphoto scene
Brilliant vid!
Great advises Omar! 👍
Omar, I love your videos!!!
I would very much like seeing a video in the style of "a day in the life"- a shoot from the choosing the locations, the composition, the raw picture, and then the edit after (if there is any)!
got it! shot and run!!! LOL
Very helpful thanks
WOW I'm thinking of hiring you! :) Beautiful unique portraits!!!!
Great advice
Great stuff here. Also, I tend to lean on the side of permission ahead of time. I don't want to be "that photographer" that ruins it for everyone else.
Thank you!
How do your clients come dressed and how do you find a scene that matches the color of clothing they wear?
Great video, 🙏
Another great video, Omar. I always pick up a few tips. Love your sense of humor and that you don't take yourself too seriously. Just curious, the boy leaning against the the short concrete columns/wall on the train platform at 9:43...South Orange?
I want to come shoot with you sometime.. Great vid 👍🏾
The doorway at 9:54 is amazing! Wish I could find a place like that too shoot.
Good ideas. 🎯👍 🥂
Long time viewer first time commenter... Great video any advice on posing? I find that is my weakness when it comes to taking portraits.
I guess this is a struggle of every hobbyist photographer :)
Great video! What would you say your percentage is for shooting natural light vs OCF? Do you take all those pieces of equipment with you just in case?
For merch you could print out that pop-up Omar and sell it as a cutout. Just call it "compositional aid". Maybe pair it with one of those composition frames.
Nice video! I scout location days before my shoot, I sometimes hate that lol it's my ocd lol
Genius.
Hey Omar! Will you be getting the new 23mm f1.4 any time soon?? Haven’t seen any vids on it yet
9:53 Can you get this saturation in camera or must post-processing be used? Great tips! Thanks.
Can't stress enough about arrive early. I can't imagine going in blind for any photoshoot.
The kid at 10:10 is my favorite :)
Omar from the future looks like a cool guy
Montclair, New Jersey looks so much nicer than Montclair, California. Great video.
Your son is right.
I scout locations often but when I shoot band EPK's or whatever "edgy" portraits , I have my small area in downtown Orlando with lots of options within a block. So, when I scout new locations , thats what I am looking for, easy access, safe and minimal walking to keep everyone involved comfy.
Omar has good gene in look and grey matter. Good and informative video. Keep it up Omar 🙏
Was this the video shot on the zv-1?
Just shoot and run! Hahahahaha i like that 😆😆😆🤣
What lenses would you use for manly indoor events-sports with an fuji xt3? Highly appreciated enjoying your trusted and educated videos. I started fuji cause of you as i brought a xt20 with 27mm and 35mm f2.
Honestly for indoor low light sports, I'd grab my Sony. For Fuji I have used the 56mm 1.2 to keep ISO low. But I keep my Fuji's outdoors. 😊
@@ogonzilla what sony cameras would you recommend? Isn't the colours a bit off then the fuji? Thanks
just shoot & run :D
Would be cool if you filmed one of yor shoots. Is that possible? :)
So how wide were the lens you were using to get the feet and full body in focus?
What about holding objects? Does it harm photos?
NOO I LIVE IN MONTCLAIR I WANT TO JOIN YOU ON A SHOOT AND LEARN 😭
Sneaky photographer…pff. And apologizing for it…ha. Great video, Omar. Just messing with you🤣👍
I bet the kids love you.
Hey Omar, Can you recommend an online photography course that you know is good? My 18 yo son is asking so I am tapping my favourite Photo site.Yours.
👌👌👌👌
🙏🙏
Tech us Fujifilm simulation recipe.
I need help - I was taking pictures of a group of teenagers for homecoming - sometimes using the back button focus and sometimes not - but either way my problem is with this camera is changing where the focus is takes too long - should I just switch to face recognition? I am afraid to set the focus and keep taking pics - I am afraid if I set it wrong I will get a bunch of pics focused on the trees or something. Doesnt help that at this point in my life I need readers to change the menu setting. :(
What camera?
"Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission"
-Omar
And my Dad told me this too.
Shoot and run 😆😆😆
I laughed at 1:52
I am a believer in "better to apologize than ask permission". But thats because i am quite seflish and have characteristics of barbarism...but i don't really care, not everyone is perfect and its ok to be unaware and just be very sorry...people will get over it
