"Mom, I am always going to love you. If your not here, your are still with us." Wow! what a heartfelt tribute that resonates. Beautiful soul Delores Lewis Garcia
Hello my relations of the southwest, I am of Heiltsuk, Nu7lhalk, Tsleiwituth and Zuni decent, my late moms told me that some of my Nu7lhalk ancestors moved down to your area for a number of years and built homes, adapted to the local traditions and then just picked up and moved back to our traditional Nu7lhalk territory. She told me so much before she went home to Creator 6 years ago. Including that i was made head of the family in 1993 upon my Pops going home to Creator. I'm still learning what it means. What I've learned both living in my traditional Westcoast environment to living on the prairie is that we have a lot of the same teachings but taught differently.
These pattern speak an natural universal language directly to your heart. I watched this video 2-3 years ago and it always comes to my mind. I think it's time to buy one of her pieces for me :)
Lucy Lewis and ACOMA pottery - OUTSTANDING. This is a lovely segment of video, photography and interviews. I’d love to view the entire documentary film sometime. Thank you very much.
I've always been impressed by the skill and artistry of the Natives, you can take one look at it and you know that it is a legacy that has been handed down for centuries and that can't be ignored. When I see a pot made by a 'true' artist like Lucy and I study the lines and shapes I feel like she put a small piece of her soul into each and every design, I would love to know what she was thinking about as she drew those lines and shapes, and what personal significance they may have held for her....
she genuinely brought the clay to life and into the lives of some very lucky people, her designs are fine art. what an amazing show that would be to see. maybe Grey Dog can help put that together.

Awwww made me cry!!! :(
Absolutely beautiful....I have enjoyed Native pottery for many years...❤️❤️❤️
Acoma is a magical place. My tiny (modern) Acoma pot is a treasure carefully carried home over 1500 miles.
I love UA-cam for this very reason! What a great clip ...
