    Hussifs and sewing kits never really went out of style. I found several modern ones in my museum browsings, and that makes it feel extra nice to continue the tradition. Not to mention that we could do it using scraps. Even though the mountain of scrap fabrics is still rather excessive!

    I'd love to nominate you for the most wholesome and realistically positive sewing youtuber. Your hussif is gorgeous, and arguably perfect as it is, since it has all the functions that you need it to have, and all the beautiful trimming and special details that make you enjoy using it! 🧡

    🖤 Wonky but Functional 🖤
    I am currently working on my first knitting project since about 20 years and after yanking the first few rows several times, I decided to put the whole thing down and not come back until I was ready to accept that philosophy, so it is nice to put this on in the background and hear you say that.

    I really love seeing all the different variations of hussifs that sewists make. I like the idea of a scrap thread bag. I think I will incorporate that in my hussif too!✌🇨🇦

      I am so glad someone else likes the scrap pouch too! I don’t like leaving clippings everywhere, especially if I am a guest at someone else’s home, so this just solves that wonderfully! 😊

    I was so happy to see you add the button to the pocket! It was the perfect finish touch. Right now I am using a mason jar as my portable sewing kit, but I am inspired to make one like yours.

      Mason jars are eternally useful for just about anything though! But I have learned that too many glass things when traveling tends to get a bit heavy. 10 out of 10, recommend little cloth rolls. 🥰

    I've been in a bit of a sewing slump after getting stuck on a big project which has been refusing to Turn Out As It Should at every step along the way, and as such is still in the naughty bin totally blocking the flow of creative sewing energy. Perhaps a small fun scrap project like this would be the perfect way to knock that creative blockage free.

    • @KristineVike
      @KristineVike  Рік тому +1

      Yes, knock the blockage with something fun!!
      Sometimes I also lower my expectations if a project refuses to cooperate. It’s not doable with all projects, but sometimes just doing what it takes to get it out of the works in progress pile has me feeling so much better!

    I have a tiny one that I got from my grandmother. and by tiny I mean it fits in the palm of my hand when folded up. It's great because I bring it with me everywhere, with a few bobbins of thread rather than spools, and more than once I've had to bring it out because of buttons needing mending. Or had a friend that had an accident that causes a tear in garment and needed emergency mending.
