The Bias Head is a great amp modeller, it works really well for me to record, to play live, and just to jam at home. I always tell people this but when matching/profiling an amp you should get the direct sound of the amp without a cabinet or cab sim, this is to really get the true sound of the amp instead of just a recording of it from a mic. This way when you use the amp through a real cab or cab sim, it isn't colored. Cheers
Awesome review as always, Trey I just felt like this was a review of the Bias App more than the Rack Hardware. A demo of the Rack through a cab in a room would be great :)
Honestly the best way to use this unit is to use it as a power amp. Use a good preamp/distortion pedal and run it into the Effects return and use the amp modeling as a back up.
Are you crazy? This is definitely not the purpose for which it was designed! What about all these knobs and switches - have you ever seen a power amp with more than 3 knobs per channel?
@@sexyguitarboy69 for me it is. Because I have no channel switching capabilities with the rack, I use the HX stomp either in the front with a clean power amp patch or I can just run it into the effects return and only have to use 2 CABLES. I can still use the bias rack as a BACKUP too if I want but I like to have a tube screamer handy just in case. That’s why I like the bias rack so much because it’s half the price of the kemper and it’s POWERED.
Hi Trey, I trying to see if you are playing that Bias rack through an IOS . Or are you playing that Bias rack playing through a couple of guitar cabs! Just trying to figure out how to get my apps on iPad to transfer to my Bias rack. Thanks
I have one stupid question: is the bias amp head better than an axe fx ultra sound-wise? The software seemed to be quite noisy in the top end compared to my old axe. I could probably buy a bias rack from the money I get from the used ultra.
for high gain tones, my chain is the green ts pedal, engl power ball high gain focused channel with lows in the middle and mids and highs equal turned higher , marshall red cab with v30 4x12 with shure sm57 and a ribbon mic.... hope this helps..
Thanks for the review!! It sounds awesome!!! No sleep for the neighborhood everynight for sure!! =D Liked and subscribed to you bro!! Keep rockin, and do keep more comin''!
Hey man I've got this crazy hum with mine. Isolated power nothing plugged in output volume down and just plugged into my speaker cab. I've reached out to PG and they haven't really helped much except tell me to use the Noise Suppressor :-/ Any ideas?
Try unplugging the USB cable, assuming you're using it to your computer. Sounds like a ground loop due to poor grounding in the computer's USB port. I had the same issue with my studio monitors humming when the audio interface USB cable was plugged in. I ended up buying a USB power isolator adapter a.co/0qOFdfJ and it solved the problem completely. I also see that the BIAS Rack supports Bluetooth, so that might be another option if I'm right that it's a USB ground loop, and you don't want to get an isolator.
It's the 7 string Tele style "Solo" model from Kiesel. Here's the link. They also do 6&8 strings and fanned fret versions www.kieselguitars.com/catalog/guitars/s7
If I'm not mistaken, he's had this guitar a lot longer than the Solo guitars have been around and this is actually the TL70 model that they've had for a few years. Major difference being this is a neck through rather than a bolt on. www.kieselguitars.com/catalog/guitars/tl70

The intro song sounds like Between The Buried and Me
That sweep intro sounds a lot like bodom haha! Great video!

Nice review thank you sir, but I still have some doubts, what about effects? Can you use bias FX with it? Or is there any other alternative? thanks
Hi Trey,

Why is the intro song so damn good

The first demo song sounds like a mix of All That Remains and BTBAM. Very interesting.
Sounds good and great playing!
i don't know if it's the setting of the amps or in the mixing but it sounds a little bit thin to me.
i couldnt get a good sound with amp plugin....i guess the pro version is being demoed....i prefer jst or amplitube
I used Amplitube too but still new, could you suggest me some settings?

A year late to reply but my first one did the same. It was a warranty issue. The noise was always there at the same volume no matter what
What guitar is this btw, looks so good and how is it to play? Feel like i need to get that asap :D
looks like the new "solo" model by kiesel

Sounds thin, but then again that may just be the mix.
Sims in general sound that way compared to the real thing
@@witnessthewrath8061 Honestly 3 years later I’ve come to realize that Positive Grid is just trash, so yeah you’re not entirely wrong lol.
How much??
This would be perfect if it came with FX too
Welp I`m sold. -Summons bonus check-
Superb demog
fucking epic playing
LOL, nice work, perhaps too many rock star facial expressions though. ;)
Dem children of bodom sweeps ;D
Sounds flat
Useless live, without a floor pedal.
The non complex rhythm spoiled the intro
