I think most of the people who love Thermal Label printers never owned a Laser Jet printer. Have a HP 1018 and 1020 from like 2010 and I buy a toner for $15 like once a year if I print a lot. Crazy those things almost cost more 15 years later than when I bought them basically new. Been selling since 2004, finally got a thermal label printer. It has it use case on the odd shaped envelopes like A7 that I can't really manually feed through a printer and get a good print out. Also somewhat helpful for non cards sales, I do like them more than other peel and stick labels I had to use for FedEx/UPS years ago and tape over because the ink on that type of paper would run. Selling low end cards hard to spend and extra .02 cents on a label when you can just print directly on the PWE.
I would like to say finding your channel has been great. Ive always sold cards and other collectibles but getting good tips on selling has been great. Ive bought the scanner which was a gamer changer for sure. Thanks and Best of luck finding gems at the Nationals. 🎉
i love your new listing inventory bag idea.
It works so well!
The Thermal Printer was a pure game changer for me, as I am sure it was for you!
If you can keep the same percentage of profit, then the $5-20 cards would be must more efficient, I would think. I don't sell low end cards like you, so I don't really know what the profit is like on those.
Love the channel!
Thanks Brian! Yeah the move to upgrade inventory to $5-$20 cards would be listings and less time, but harder to source so the low end cards can sell in the meantime. Margins are much better on low end cards, but the $ amounts much smaller
Nice video. A couple of things I wish all full time low end card sellers would discuss. How much profit is actually made doing this? Only because newer sellers think they can quit a job and make a living doing this. Not that easy to do. Guessing your spouse makes a living that covers the health insurance at least.
I spend a few hours a day total on cards. Cards are my 6th form of income, so it’s more for fun and spending money. A luxury that not many have. I also sell on 5 sites which has increased in the past year. Selling cards for over 25 years and got a thermal printer last year. A huge game changer for time saving.
It's true, you have to have huge volume on low end sales. I've been doing this for years and have a fair amount of listings to ensure volume is sold. We discuss all these topics and more on our discord and the live chat every Wednesday at 8 CST!
congrats!!! youve inspired me and id believe countless others!
Thank you!
Great stuff! I did a double-take when you said 50k listings with a Premium store. I was like, what is he talking about? I am approaching 1k listings in my basic store and was considering moving to a premium. Didn't know I could list up to 10k in certain categories. Slap in the head. 🤕Thanks man.
Glad I could help!
Do you put a business card in your envelopes? If you do where do you go to get them printed? Love your videos. I’d love to see more videos about your star wars costumes
Yes. I order them from gotprint
Hey Adam, I had a quick question and maybe you and some of the listeners could give some advice. I sell low end cards and use the PWE Standard Envelope to send out most of my lower end cards. I’ve been getting cards that the tracking says were delivered but the buyer does not receive the card. They open up a request and want a refund. My question is…Do you refund or not? The cards are only $2-$4 but I currently have 2 open requests and have had others in the past that I refunded but all these refunds are beginning to add up. Thanks in advance!
If it shows delivered you do not have to refund. Their request will be denied
@@thedollarbox ok. Thanks! 🙏
I am also lowend with some mid end as well. My goal is not buying or listing anymore base. Color, #'s, patches & autos only if possible. Also need to get a bit faster at listing. I pre plan so for the next 5 weeks i have cards to list ready to go using CDP. Wanna just up the amount
Ramping it up certainly helps move more cards. I thought about going non-base roo but I actually sell a TON of base of big name players and can get them easily and cheap. So I'm still gonna buy base but try to only get premium brands (prizm, optic, etc)
Adam do you see that the profit margins are more for Non Sports than Sports Cards? I have been buying more of the older Non Sports and doing less in quantity but mire more in profit margin.
If you get them for the right price, yes
@@thedollarbox Yes thats what I have been doing. I have been making around a 50% profit on the cards.
Hey Adam,
You are responsible for getting me back in the game to sell and have fun selling cards. I am retired and the extra income helps as I got 2 21 year old twins still living in my house😂. I watched all your videos and is very educational to help me in the hobby. I have been doing this since September of 2023.
That's awesome! Everyone can use a little extra doing something they enjoy! Thanks for watching!
What has changed in your year?😊
Studying stats, learned lots get great views vs. singles, using the ebay supplies discount every quarter, thermal printer, improved quality of lots and getting a friends cards to sell/split profits.
I switched to Mercari and I’m glad I did I wasn’t getting any views on eBay
Good to hear! I'm going to build mercari also. Did you use the cross posting tool
@@thedollarbox I didn’t know I can cross post
@jasonscardshop you can literally copy all of your ebay listings over if you have a premium mercari subscription. My plan is to finish building ebay and then just copying everything over so I'm not doing work twice
I don’t believe Mercari has a premium subscription plan as there are no fees to list there. Maybe you need some kind of cross listing platform?
Mercari has its own importing system for free. Up to 3000 items at once. I tested one listing and it bought it over but without pics and wanted me to upload pics. Also had to change shipping.
I’ve bought more….
I know! 😆 🤣 😂
Can you put a link to discord somewhere. I tried to find it but searching discord nothing came up.
