Yes. McEnroe and Connors can attest to that. He would go right at you like you were a sitting duck at the net. Which is perfectly legal, though not very sportsmanlike.

You almost forget how good of a clay court player Andres Gomez was. He had beautiful strokes and the forehand was deceptively quick.
