Great Wrap-Up! I loved the movie 3.10 To Yuma but have not read the short story. Geek Love is definitely on my tbr, I have heard it is strange and weird. Teddy hunting rabbits 🤣 a bit like our Layla hunting Hadedas- never catches them of course! Blake Crouch Dark Matter is on my radar after our awesome discussion on Sunday. I think I will read that rather then The Rigor Of Angels... maybe one day. 😀Looking forward to your final verdict of Ulysses.

That was the cutest cotton tail I have seen in a long while.... and not really all that afraid either !! When I walk Abigail she chases the little lizards. Too funny as she is a very large old Persian lady.
All of my other Persians just sit and watch her, I would love to know what they are thinking !!

I dunno, bro. I kinda cringe when an author say s/he's writing "existential horror." All good horror is existential; it has to be, on some level. When an author starts waxing philosophical about his/her own work, I turn my head, like when I catch someone picking his nose (masc. possessive pronoun, for ease) and gormandizing on his own boogers when I'm at a stoplight. Back in the 90s, and even nowadays, everyone was writing "magic realism," without really knowing anything about the Latin boom and having read any of the greats. If I'm hard-pressed, though, I would have to say Thomas Ligotti is by far the master of "existential horror." But he's suis generis. One of the greatest horror stories I' read (and my very first adult story that I read) was Cortázar's "Axolotl," pronounced in Spanish, "a-jo-LO-te." Anyway, sorry for the rant. Speaking of horror, I'm devouring a lot of Ramsey Campbell. Really good stuff. Another fine video. Oh, and Elmore Leonard is off the chain. Teddy's huntin' himself some wabbits.
I know what you mean about “existential horror” but I’m quoting the author he was trying to differentiate between “scary” horror. I really like that Cortazar short story.
