@@dbabu51 No actually race starts are pretty easy but it's more about the corners where you need to change directions really fast like Jeddah or Silverstone it's so hard to drive.
I sometimes play with control and play very comfortably. My advice is to keep the left joystick practically all the time facing forward (as if in GTA V or Call Of Duty you were moving forward) and at the moment when you are going to enter a curve, slide (while pointing up/front) little by little to one side or the other. When you simply make the joystick to the left or right (from the center) the movement is very abrupt, and in that other way the movement can be smooth if you need it or fast and direct if you want it too.
Yeah it is really abrupt because of the controller stick re-centering. I think thats what they fixed with the precision driving feature in f1 23. The solution u suggested (keeping the stick up) would be a good solution for f1 22 and older games but it gets too much time getting used to, and everyone is gonna switch to f1 23 cuz we all fed up with f1 22 for realll.

@@IPH-1212lmao this is so unbelievably relatable it’s crazy 😭😭😭 no matter how well you take the corner its not guaranteed you’ll make it out facing the right way 💀
the steering rate addition should help with monaco on controller, cos thats the biggest issue ive had in the last couple of F1 games on controller is you cant quite get enough turning for the hairpin most of the time.
What makes pad players slow is moving the stick left to right instead of aiming the stick up and then steering from left to right. That makes you a lot quicker and smoother.
Coming back to this vid just to say that I changed my steering rate to 130% and cut my laptime by 1 second on the open tracks and 2-3 seconds on the street-circuits. The agressive turn makes it easier to navigate in those tight areas. Monaco is still almost impossible to do a great lap on with controller but still working on it. Great advice! (Works just as great on F124)
Steering rate is going to be a huge game changer for us controller players imo. Hopefully I can finally fine tune F1 23 to feel like my Assetto Corsa setup
This. Especially because AC never had really full Controller support so this could get casuals with 20-30 hours playtime - till next game`s Release date to go nuts and end up with 100-200 hours this time.
I’m so happy with the new features but im almost gonna feel like they actually made the game so easy like even on no assissts everyone can drive without making a mistake. Of course what makes some faster is the lines they take and the speed they carry to the corners but yeah. Looking forward to it!!
I'm also a bit worried... Hopefully there's still some skills gap. I don't want to be just a couple if tenths slower than the eSports guys. I like it when I'm surprised by how much quicker they are compared to me after nailing a lap lol
I played the beta on console and it was a bit difficult at start with the new braking & handling, but once I got used to it I played AI on 97+(Medium TC)

Austria is a great track how to learn to play without assists. Its a short track, good braking zones, fast cornering and just do 100 laps and slowly turn off assists 1 by 1. Good luck!
Personally I'd start off with manual gears. It'll soon become second nature and then you can figure out the others. ERS isn't too difficult. Dropping to medium traction can be tricky at first, you can no longer just flatten the accelerator, but I wouldn't recommend even trying zero traction on F1 22. Wait for 23 as zero traction there is apparently closer to medium on 22 anyway. ABS was the one I learnt last - you need to drive 'correctly' before that becomes possible really, otherwise you'll be locking up left, right and centre.
