Auction prices for South African 1c and 2c coins!

- Recently an entire set of South African 1c and 2c coins as well as the very rare 1965 English and Afrikaans 1c pieces went on auction on the SACCG Facebook group. From these, the 1965 1c pieces are by far the rarest. This makes this series extra interesting since they can be collected for both investment and Numismatic value!
Should you wish for me to look at your coins and give you an estimate, please send clear photographs of the reverse and the obverse and I will have a look for you. You can get the email address from the channel's about section.
Regrettably, I only buy from people I personally know.

If a 2011 10c goes for R100, what does a 1990 10c go for?
It's good question, because one would think "older is more valuable", right? However, it does not work that way. In 1990 40,000,000 10c were minted (if you stack them on top of another, it will make a tower 60km tall). In contrast, in 2011, we only know that 3000 proof coins were minted. No figures exist on how many business strikes were made - we simply do not know. It seems to very few as the 2011 coins are exceedingly rare. TL;DR: The 1990 10c is worth 10c (maybe R1 in UNC).
@@penniesshillings Thank you for the reply, yes it would seem that age has an effect on pricing, the older coins should go at a higher price, evidently it is not the case, and supply is the deciding factor, thank you for the video, it is great seeing hidden gems like the 2011 10c piece, I for one would like to see more videos on the more modern hidden gems people could be sitting on unawares.

...it's not just that. I am focusing on high-grade union MS coins. Most of the coins I miss cost several thousand so I can only buy a few each year. Your best bet for the newer coins is on facebook. You will get better prices as well.
