Hadley's Peek-A-Boo Boxing thank you coach Hadley please continue to post your knowledge. Will go to the patreon page. I set up to receive notifications from you. Thank u.
Great idea that you share your knowlege , thank you very much! Will you cover how to use the Peekaboo against a Soutpaw? and also nuances like how much should a person slip (how big should the slipping movement be)? How to get to superior punching positions (angles) or rather from which positions are the combinations intended? How to defend Bodypunches out of the Peekaboo? Maybe you have some knowlegde about how Cus developed this style? I have read that he liked Beau Jack and Henry Armstrong- why did he felt the necessaty to develop this style instead of teaching their style to his fighters? the initial position of the crouch that Armstrong used protects the body and the weight is on the back foot thus creathing more distance towards the head and the stance is more bladed so it is initially a more advantageous position compared to a square stance - however as I perceive the Peekaboo the head must move the whole time (out of the opponent´s centerline) , another nuance would be timing- did cus intent his fighter to move their head constantly when in a threatening range or rather preemtively move the head or press the other guy and move the head only to counterpunch or both? Why did Cus create this unorthodox way of slipping side to side? Isn´t it possible to use the normal way of slipping punches with that stye? It puts a lot of stress on the lower back (Patterson Tyson both have lower back problems...) Also a big aspect: the peekaboo is a system however individualized factors have to be taken into account right? Patterson, Torres, Tyson they did not fought exactly in the same manner, could you also make a video about the custumization of the style to an individual(´s needs/attributes) Since you learned from D´Amato a video about Fear and the Mind would be great too Sorry I have written a lot but all this came to my mind when I saw the video and I had to write it down
Another interesting video would be on pivoting and sidestep that is traditionally used in comparion to the Peek-A-Boo way of "twisting" (I am refering to the move that Tyson used against Busther Mathis) ? It would also be interesting to hear a D´Amato Student comparing Joe Frazier´s style to the peek-a-boo style. Can´t the arms be down to protect the body?(Guard be adaped?) Guys like Herol Graham and Toni Canzoneri did not have their hands up as they used their elusive qualities (Hip and footwork )made up their defense, I ask this because I think that bodyshots can prevent a Peekaboo fighter to come forward as the head moves but he body can be hit, or am I mistaken something? (It did not win him the fight but James Tillis did some good bodyshots against Mike ) Could you comment on the following statement by Stacey McKinley a former trainer of Mike Tyson: "What Cus really did was - Mike’s natural stance was like a boxing stance like Joe Louis. What he did was he took that stance and he reversed it. He reversed Mike. And when he reversed him it was hard to figure out. Well, what is this kid doing in the ring? For Cus to come up with that was totally genius. Mike, you know what? Now I understand. Because I knew Blackburn was from Detroit. So we all from Detroit, we’re all Detroit fighters. Eddie Futch, Jack Blackburn, we knew all those boxing guys worked together. That’s why we got a different technique for boxing. Cus learned from Blackburn. Mike ain’t but 5-foot-9 1/2. He ain’t 5-11. He took the perfect style and he reversed it. Mike doing the same thing Joe Louis was doing. Or those fighters that box with that style, but the only difference is it’s reversed. And once you learn it’s reversed, then I got a chance to know him"
Thank you sir I'm 49 years old and I'm getting into boxing to try to do the Masters hopefully next year that is the Masters division in amatuer boxing which I believe is the super heavyweight division. Thanks for all your tips may God bless.
I'm turning 49 years old in November 2020 I'm doing the masters too then I'm turning pro at 50. My Instagram is Cop_cartel_fraternity if you got one follow me I'll follow back 🥊🥊
i would love to continue with boxing and kickboxing but at 47 it would be foolhardy to risk brain damage and be assured head trauma causes brain damage, the evidence is overwhelming and as a physician assistant I cannot advocate it.I switched to wrestling and bjj after 40,its not worth the risk now.
You're a legendary fighter. I've seen your fights on UA-cam and your knockouts using the Peekaboo style. Absolutely amazing that you uploaded this series of Peekaboo training. Thank you so much!!
Awesome thank you so much for this channel. I am looking forward to all your videos and always wanted to learn from a real D'Amato disciple, so I'm happy to see this.
I've heard about your gym down there in Tenessee (and your fights too), it's pretty amazing that your one of many that has trained with Cus D'amato , let alone live with him! If you ever plan on making more videos here on UA-cam in the future .. Can you tell stories about with your time as a fighter or stuff you've done with Cus D'amato ? Anyways your amazing for putting something like this up! :D
George's chins Yes, hopefully if this video does well we will make many more and will certainly have some great interviews about Cus, living with him, and plenty of other stories mixed in with our lessons as well. Thank you so much for the comment and for checking us out here on UA-cam!
This is got to be top five if not top three boxing channels on UA-cam. The only reason why I can't rate it higher than top three top five best boxing channels on youtube is because it is specializing on one system. But that's the point. You are getting specialized boxing here. I see Mr. Joey Hadley and especially customato as the equivalent of an elite level oldschool Shaolin Kung Fu master.
Thank you for your insight into the peak a boo boxing style from Cus. I have been fascinated with this style since it is my favorites boxers style - Mike Tyson. I think it is the perfect style for a shorter boxer and its the only style beside Floyd's that I know of that actually utilizes counters, slips, weaves on the inside. Since Cus died and Tyson doesn't teach boxing, I think your the next best thing. Keep up the great work.
I’m a 15 year old kid in Dallas Texas and I know a lot about the peekaboo style but I wanna learn more like how to throw some of the punches in this particular style and how to be more accurate stuff like that because you actually lived with the one and only cus d Amato I know you have a lot of wisdom and so much to share about this style if one day would you please make a video about it , I wanna learn as much about this style as I can I’d really appreciate if you acknowledge this thank you 🙏
I'm glad you started a channel. I remember seeing you on one of Elliot setback videos... it was really good information and stories until Elly messes it up as he does normally. Thanks for the content
sorry, my mistake. it must've been a different video of ellies. The video that I was talking about with you was actually from "the modern martial artist" , who actually does a great job with his vids.
I have been having issues with my style and stance as of late, I favor my right hand as my jab but I also favor it for my hook so I'd fight southpaw, but it does work. When I'm in orthodox, it still feels uncomfortable but when I tried standing squared up and throwing a few punches, it felt comfortable and more natural. I think I'll train from now on with the peek a boo style and see how it goes, I love it so far.
I like Mike Tyson’s way of fighting too I just turned 17 and am about to join boxing and I really want to go pro you think if I try hard enough I can go pro or is it too late to begin
Busiest Bee - Tbh it would be the same as an orthodox, because the Stance meant you could have equal power on both hands. And Tyson was knocking people out with his left and right hand.
I have a problem I’m bare right handed I have to jab then reset myself then hook I can’t lead with my left hand but feel my jab is pretty savage I have power in my left but I feel quicker jabbing then resetting??
When i got ko first time in a streetfight i got flash ko and he kicked me in the face 2 times and that woke me up from my ko . I could not see for a long time after that , my balance was messed up and it felt like i was stuck crossed and looking upwards but i wasnt. He kicked my jaw and my front teeth got all chipped up. I have not been KO since then but i have been beat up by afew (3 ) dudes. Now ive been peekaboo train ing for the last month now. I have 18 combos i do , 3 punch , 4 punch , 5 punch combo s and those combos end with hooks or body hooks and i have to bob and weave after every combo and it makes your hips and thighs tight and solid. I love the peekaboo training.
Nice video but you need to make a video on the peekaboo boxing stance itself because it's different from traditional boxing how can we learn how to throw punches when we don't even know where are feet need to be ?
Try do a tiny tiny step forward just to move ur weight on target. You don't have to jump on your oponent just like little step few mm front while throwing and back.
turn from your sins and believe in THE LORD Jesus Christ and be baptized in THE NAME of THE FATHER, THE SON and THE HOLY SPIRIT if you haven’t already before CHRIST returns or before you die LORD Willing

Check then whether your footwork is better in orthodox or southpaw. Choose whichever side has better footwork
Mike tyson is my favorite fighter, I noticed his way of slipping punches is different from regular boxing, how do you slip punches peekaboo style?
Ok, coach looking forward to it.
Victor cabral He Posted It! m.ua-cam.com/video/BMiA_sHRUoY/v-deo.html
Bob and weaving like joe frazier used to do tyson style was a bit based on him I believe

Please make more videos on cus' techniques I read remus boxing's book the cus d'amato mind and I'm a huge fan of peekaboo boxing.
Joey Hadley do you have a video where you are training Cus D'Amato. very interesting
What do you think about a southpaw using the peekaboo style ?
I’d assume it would be as natural as an orthodox fighter. Tyson was ambidextrous and applied the style to him in a way for both stances.
Busiest Bee - Tbh it would be the same as an orthodox, because the Stance meant you could have equal power on both hands. And Tyson was knocking people out with his left and right hand.
Hey coach hope everything is well

Thank you for the video. Do you know of any books that breaks down the peek-a-boo style?
Have u made a video on the quarter twist if not please make one 😎
Yall have no idea how much this means to me .O you have footwork drills ?
Good job
Part 2?
Peek -A boo🥊🥊🥊😍🥊😍😍😍
Tell the combination of this style
How to use punching combinations
1:58 combo and sequence 👍
Can you make a video on training for peek a boo
I have a problem I’m bare right handed I have to jab then reset myself then hook I can’t lead with my left hand but feel my jab is pretty savage I have power in my left but I feel quicker jabbing then resetting??
does the snap for jab mean left rotation as wel or can be done without left hip rotation ?

I love the peekaboo training.
Nice video but you need to make a video on the peekaboo boxing stance itself because it's different from traditional boxing how can we learn how to throw punches when we don't even know where are feet need to be ?
9-4 I believe not so sure but by watching tyson feet on his fights I started using like that and it works nice
I want to study Muhammad Ali's style. What is his style called?
So you add that corkscrew to the jab sir.
What do you do with you lead foot? I’m tired of whiffing my jabs and looking dumb. I’ll start cork screwing the jab but please help
Try do a tiny tiny step forward just to move ur weight on target. You don't have to jump on your oponent just like little step few mm front while throwing and back.
That first jab he threw was close to injury
How did Mike Tyson get away from the rope when he was against it
Now anybody share with me they're opinion. I think this style was perfected by Tyson and it has not been demonstrated in such mastery since him.
This how M.Tyson would have slipped Wilder`s jab and then countered with the hook!
Can u make a peek aboo foot work vid
Sleepy Finlayson mahalo nui loa!
Whats the diffrence between the left jab and right jab??
One is thrown with the right hand and one is thrown with the left hand.
