Nick stays getting smacked up in these vids... lol. “Come here, Nick...*wham!* 🥊” Most importantly, there is lots of great info on technique in these vids too
As a taller larger beginner your videos have been inspiring. Everyone told me that being taller Peekaboo doesn't work. It's just a shame there aren't more videos starting from the very basics of a stance to good adaptations for taller fighters for combos etc.
Thank you for aharung sir. I do respect the peek a boo style, Cus and his training method. You explained it in a very well step by step detail. Pls share more. Many thanks to all your crews
Sir you are amazing, I'm a Taekwondo practitioner and I wanted all the time to learn how to block , avoid and to throw a punch like a boxer ,but the most of videos or even in a training room were always boring and kind of complicated. Your lesson are simple ,logic , effective and easy bro learn thank you for making boxing more interesting...!!!
Is there any way we can get an in depth explanation of how to get the proper "shoulder snap" for uppercuts and hooks? Ive seen several people try to explain it and it's always been slightly confusing to me. Specifically an in depth explanation of the body mechanics of the shoulder snap, and how to know you're doing it right. I really appreciate these videos.
the shoulder snaps or rotates in the socket at the end of the punch ... before you start punching, practice shucking your shoulder in a quick snappy circle (the exact direction your shoulder moves depends on the direction of punch) ... then make sure you feel that movement at the end of your punch
I second this request. J.T. (Precision Striking) made a video on the shoulder snap but i dont know if it will help or not. I havent found any others besides that one.
You just want to rotate your shoulders in the same direction your punch is traveling. It gives your punches leverage. You throw a punch from the ground up. Plant your rear foot and drive up, rotate your hips, twist your core, rotate/snap your shoulders, and then put your punch at the end of this sequence. All of these snaps/rotations go in the direction of your punch. This all adds to your punch leverage and ultimately punch power. Back your self up to a wall and keep your back glued to the wall, and throw some uppercuts, hooks, even jabs/crosses. You will have no power in them, because your only throwing the punch with your arms. When your use shoulder/hip snap, and drive up from floor you increase power big-time. Another way to look at shoulder snap, is that your arm is connected to your shoulder, when you snap/rotate your shoulder towards the target to start your punch, your shoulder is pulling your arm to the target and is creating more velocity and speed in your punch.
Same here, used to be a slick defensive guy like SRL, but this is like the universal combat style for dealing with any kinds of martial arts and styles.
Thanks Joey For Share knowledge, experience and passion on youtube. It's so amazing. Big up from France 🇫🇷 Be happy ! Have a long life ! Peace ✌️ Ps: time to drills awesome Flip and Down like you said !!!
The true and authentic name of the punch to which you call the uppercut is the Avenger of Kinsmen. Legend has it, when a fighter pure of heart lands one, even the dead will rise to show reverence.
can you plz show us how to do the footwork of how to punch and move , I always lose balance because I don't know how the feet movement goes while boxing
Do the feet stay flat footed while throwing uppercut or do you teach to pivot foot or raise heel? When you threw them it looked like you were flat footed more. When the kid threw them he pivoted with foot, At least on the right uppercut he was. Thanks Man. Best of luck
when you move your head weaving side to side after you punch you said to move it into your shoulder as you move.. i tried this and got dizzy and lose track of target in front of me? am i doing it wrong
They should have had the camera on though top and bottom of the kid so I could have seen his foot positioning.. I know peek-a-boo style squared up, not your regular boxing stance
For future reference like you're telling somebody to be quiet with your finger on your mouth that's the sound you should be making as you push the air out while you exhale as you strike sh sh sh ,
@@NoWePlay you square up in peek a boo style and you're only job is to move forward and attack while dodging coming punches with head movement, footwork is more necessary for out boxing style
Awesome tutorial coach, very informative can you please do one on the peekaboo style footwork.
Yes...please do
I would also be very interested in the footwork

Jason Taylor you can't explain it, you just have to learn it.

Think of a whip when punching.
Loving your channel thanks for wisdom and guidance. Cus was one of the greats. Greetings from the Caribbean.

i love your video. i think it's very educational tutorial
Incredible Coaching!
I've changed my whole style of boxing to the cat skills .its more aggressive and like street fighting
Same here, used to be a slick defensive guy like SRL, but this is like the universal combat style for dealing with any kinds of martial arts and styles.
bloodndestroy yes sir bro..this style helps in street fighting mma or any style..its brutal
bloodndestroy to me its also less wasted motion and movement..its easy to learn and more realistic
Word man
Cat style? You mean Cus style?

Superb Boxing Style! 👍
Thank you! 🖒
Legend Lives! ☝
I'm enjoying your video's
Great video Sir!

Is there anywhere to buy the peek a boo boxing gloves or clothing?
I too enjoy when Nick shows up sometimes taking hits😅
Is it me or have i just heard a snap at 3:26?
Kenzo Ivc thought it was just me

Would you happen to have any students who are trained by Dan Inosanto?
can you plz show us how to do the footwork of how to punch and move , I always lose balance because I don't know how the feet movement goes while boxing
Love your videos Joey :)
What's wrong with the wall? Why are there two holes?

@8:42 those drills suck but definitely teaches you how to breath and not swallow your air, and not to panic when you’re getting body shots.
please do a video on footwork
when you move your head weaving side to side after you punch you said to move it into your shoulder as you move.. i tried this and got dizzy and lose track of target in front of me? am i doing it wrong
thank you so much
The Willie Bag numbers are 1-Left hook 2- R hook 3-L Uppercut 4-R uppercut 5-L Body hook 6-R body hook 7-Jab 8-Straight
How does the arching uppercut and leaping hook work? mike tyson used these alot.
Not gonna lie to you I want to know where the gym is at so I can join
Catskills, New York. I don’t think he is training anymore, unfortunately
1965. For the light heavyweight title. The man in my photo is the man the bag was designed for. Mike Tyson said the same thing.
Thanks coach!!
Can you do a video on footwork
Yo, who was the real life bodybag? Lmao! Dude was getting ate up in the ribs! That's crazy. Lol.
Ya, Where can I get one of those!?
Qwertyuiopasdfghjkl Zxcvbnm,. Ya, Where can I get one of those!?
You should definitely do a video on shadow boxing! My trainer doesn't teach well like you do
Can you do footwork?
You show how to do every technique correctly.
I'm so using this

Sleepy Finlayson thank you!
What's with the students sticking in their elbows too close together with the guard? Hadley never demonstrates it like that.
This gentleman should have been Mikes trainer after Rooney got fired.
Really?
Young blood getting it in
For future reference like you're telling somebody to be quiet with your finger on your mouth that's the sound you should be making as you push the air out while you exhale as you strike sh sh sh ,
Cool video but its kind've a waste not showing the whole body as you demonstrate the technique.
Seems the kids left was stronger then the right uppercut. Idk.
Your student is telegraphing his uppercuts a little too much.
I thought the same, he drops it and slowly before throwing it, if I was sparring him I'd be looking to take advantage of that
Lol well yeah, they're practicing uppercuts. No one normally throws lead uppercuts, it's part of a combo.
Do footwork
Footwork is not that necessary with peek a boo style
@@mercer13b wtf thats not true
@@NoWePlay you square up in peek a boo style and you're only job is to move forward and attack while dodging coming punches with head movement, footwork is more necessary for out boxing style
