Nice cold start. That Onan sounds great. I also wouldn’t worry about that smoke on startup, like jdraupp said, I think that’s just normal for the old girl. 👍
She sure started up easy. Wish my 318 would start like that...it was always a little difficult to start and now it has lost spark after sitting for several months. I'll have to look into it before the snow comes. We will be plowing in no time.
Feel like white smoke from an Onan is fine after sitting that long. If it’s blue then that might be an issue. Like how it popped right off though. Usually I have to crank a bit to get it primed.
Yep cranked over right away and I don’t even shut the fuel valve off when it sits. Some say that helps to keep fuel from draining back out of the fuel lines but I’ve never had an issue.
@@outdoorpowerhouse I have to turn mine off and it does help. Even with it off if it sits a few weeks I have to crank a bit. Found that the best way is to crank for a couple seconds, let off, then crank again and it usually will pop right off. Love my onan.
Try a suicide knob, once you get used to it you will love it. My 318 does that same cold start, just got to hit her sweet spot on the throttle. Nice machine
I’ve had them and don’t care for them. When not using the knob I tend to have it hit my forearm and it gets annoying. The only reason I was sort of shimmying the steering wheel was to not shake the camera around too much.

I’m not worried about it, when I was using it for all of the work and mowing here it hardly used any oil at all.

Yeah snow will be on us before you know it. Any idea of your issue, points, coil?
@@outdoorpowerhouse I have the P218G so no points. I still need to troubleshoot but I am afraid it's the ignition module under the flywheel.
Yeah that’ll turn into some effort to fix, hopefully that’s not the issue.

@@outdoorpowerhouse Roger that... I grew up on them started out as a little one on Dads JD112 and our old farm tractor JD 620. Enjoy your Deere.
She started up nicely, is it the B43g?
Yes, it’s a B43G
@@outdoorpowerhouse nice I have one myself, lovely sounding engine
Do you still the 200 series tractor?
At the moment I don't have any 200 series. That does change from time to time, I occasionally pick one up to tinker with, etc...
