    Hi Quentin, i did exactly the same with my Interceptor. Mine is a 2023 Euro5. I checked mine at top end for performance and it was great. I aslo blocked the space between the frame and Airbox to only let in cold air. Ok, keep the rubber side down and stay safe.

      Interesting, thanks! I still have my INT650 with no intention to let it go.

    That is an interesting observation about the DNA air filter. My interceptor 650 is still not fully run in yet. I have the DNA triangular clamp installed, but I am still using the original air filter as it is still clean. I notice a throaty roar when I open the throttle, but I have aftermarket silencers also (Hitchcocks Enfield stainless), which look great and are louder than the stock pipes, even with the baffles in. I will try to observe the difference when I change to the DNA filter at about 5000 kms. I enjoy your videos!

      Thanks! Lots of combinations to try. I rode my bike completely stock for over 3,000 miles before I bought the DNA. By that time I was very familiar with the power curve of my bike. I could take or leave the throaty roar down low, but, by the seat of my pants, I could feel that loss of top end surge. It makes sense that the bike would just be too lean with the throttle wide open and all that unrestricted air coming in. Going back to the OEM cover solved the problem, and smoothing its interior, I believe, must reduce air turbulence, reducing power dips at certain throttle openings. I can clearly feel these results.

      @@QuentinsMotoVlog I was hoping that the ECM will adjust for air filters and slip-ons. My bike is Euro 4 and so it might run a little richer than a Euro 5 version I suspect. Good job with smoothing the OEM snorkel.

    I have heard that using the booster plug helps with the fuel air mixture so it’s not so lean, I haven’t installed my DNA yet I wanted to install both at the same time

      I think they’re worth doing, especially the DNA. If nothing else, you get a very nice induction roar.

    Well done to you, practical solution. Don't need the induction roar........

    If you tune it it wil be fine at the top of the rpm range, more air needs more fuel. It is way to lean whit that open cover. I like you solution, its clean. Love the video btw

    You can also get a plastic air filter intake that allows more air through.

    Hi Quentin, when you fitted the filter with the engine cold?? you then need to start the bike an don't touch the throttle let it idyll for 12 minits to warm up , what happens is the computer reads the change yourv made IE oxygen sensors, manifold sensors etc then it remaps the fuel injection, because the air flow has changed,, same thing also if you change the exhaust mufflers cheers JK

    • @QuentinsMotoVlog
      @QuentinsMotoVlog  2 роки тому

      Thank you. I knew that. I did let that warm up happen both times, first when I installed the DNA with their bracket, and again when I replaced their bracket with the OEM bracket smoothed out on the inside.

    So did you decide to live with the power drop and throaty sound ?. What were your reasons for reverting back to using the steel clamp? Thanks

    • @QuentinsMotoVlog
      @QuentinsMotoVlog  5 місяців тому

      In the end I decided that probably the DNA designers know a little bit more about air flow than I do, so I went with the triangular metal bracket. The bike has a nice flat torque curve and the high end is still there when I want it. And I do love the sound! I also added the temperature sensor relocation kit from Hitchcocks but I honestly don’t feel much improvement from that. It’s cold outside, so maybe in the summer it will make more of a difference. Thanks!

      It works pretty well. I eventually went to the standard dna triangular bracket and I’m very happy with it.

    Hi, could you explain mi better what did you do with the snorkel. Thanks a lot 😊

    • @QuentinsMotoVlog
      @QuentinsMotoVlog  9 місяців тому

      Sorry for the late reply! Just saw this. In the end, I ditched the snorkel altogether and just went with the triangular bracket DNA provides to hold the air filter in place. Very happy with that set up now.

      Hi @@QuentinsMotoVlog, what made you decide to go back to the triangular bracket over the modded original snorkel? I'm trying to decide if I mod the original for free or buy the bracket to make the change reversible.

    A vid of you "dremilling" off the protrusions would be useful.

    • @QuentinsMotoVlog

      Yeah, I'm just too lazy! Ha! Look, if you open the left panel you will see three philips head screws holding the stock air filter cover in place. Remove the cover and look and feel inside it. You can't miss the rough seam I describe. If you have a Dremel, you know how they work. I put a small grinder on the Dremel, held the cover in my left hand and used the Dremel in my right to drag it back and forth over the seam until it was smooth to the touch. I hope that helps!

    Q, i will be trying this trick on my 650 meteor. I think your saying to remove the center split piece in the old snorkle, have i got it correct? If i have it wrong, please correct my mistake and tell me what part i need to remove! Doug🏍️👍😀🧸🐻🤓

    • @QuentinsMotoVlog
      @QuentinsMotoVlog  3 місяці тому

      Yes, I think so. The idea is just to smooth out the inside of the snorkel so the air flows smoothly. Good luck with it!
