    Really interested in the exhaust and filter. Can you clear up a couple of points please? The video shows 53 bhp and 55ft/lb vs standard 51.5 bhp and 53.5 bhp. RE's official figure is 47 bhp. Normally you'd expect real bhp to be less than claimed bhp however the graph says "extra fuel" so has the mapping/ecu been worked on?
    8bhp over standard is a lot and very worth having on a 47 bhp machine and would put it on a par with an original 850 Commando which (when running) was an awesome machine.

    I installed the Bandidos Pitstop Belt Drive Conversion Kit and love it. The front to rear sprocket is different and gives more torque but decreased mileage. Would installing this air filter give me better fuel mileage? Also some say when putting high flow air filter on we should run at idle for ten minutes before riding for the ECU to adjust to the air filter. Do you agree?

      Hi, Yes works well with standard exhaust and no re map required. but to get the best from this bike you really need to change the exhaust system as it is horribly restricted. if you had to put bike in for warranty you can simply put the stock filter back in, only takes a few minutes. but most dealers are buying these to fit for customers so I cannot see it being an issue.

    since it allows air to pass through well, so it allows dust to pass through, before you put on the filter, look through it, you will see small holes.

    Hi George, I'm from Australia and have noticed some pre-detonation when riding at higher altitudes (800-1000 meters) I was running 91 octane fuel at the time but do you think using this air filter would help to prevent pre-detonation by making more air available?? I have also started using high octane fuel (98 ron)

    • @ferrumignis
      @ferrumignis 5 років тому

      Engines suffer from pre-ignition and/or detonation; there is no such thing as pre-detonation. Detonation typically occurs under high engine loads, in this case allowing even more air into the cylinder will make things worse.

    • @PrateekLalShah
      @PrateekLalShah 5 років тому

      Can't say anything about the 'pre-detonation', but using higher octane fuel on this bike is a waste of money. It wont make any difference whatsoever.
      In India at least, and I think the specifications are the same across the world for this bike, 91ron is recommended by the manufacturer, and that's more than sufficient. Typically higher octane fuel is needed for engines with high compression ratio, which this bike doesn't have.

    Since ordering a DNA filter which i look forwards to .

    Q should I have concerns for this with a DNA filter ?

    • @charliekiger
      @charliekiger 2 роки тому

      That's what I was thinking, too. K&N Filters will outperform stock, until their first clean, then they'll run just like the stock filter, then after the second wash you're better off with a paper filter as far as keeping out contaminants. "Lifetime" product that lasts twice as long as the OE part. However, if he's correct about the OE filter being 25-30 bucks, and this one is less than 60, you're better off. I wouldn't go past 2 cleanings before replacing their "lifetime" filter.
