    Beezy went in, thats what love of hip hop looks like, track for track word for word he knew it all and then some. THATS how you know someone loves hip hop and its so genuine. Great vid guys.

    I do believe that Illmatic is one of those rare albums that actually ARE perfect. I mean, there's really nothing bad to say about it. It's not super long and it's not too short (unless you'd just want more), beats are amazing, lyricism is God tier, storytelling is some of the best in Hip-Hop history, it's a clear 10/10 LP, and those don't come around very often. There isn't a single weak track, in my opinion.

    • @sampletext8614
      @sampletext8614 5 років тому +6

      I'm not interested in a fight, I'm just starting a conversation:
      I thought Halftime and One Time 4 Your Mind had weak spots. And I think the production of the beats is not as diverse as it could've been, in my opinion. The World Is Yours is defenitely one of the best songs of that year, and It Ain't Hard to Tell Is a great closer. Oh! And yes, the lyricism is definitely a 10/10 no question. But Illmatic has always struck me as not that diverse in production. The hook on One Love I dislike. The base on One Love, Halftime and One Time 4 Your Mind are not, to me, as good, as Memory Lane, for example. Ready to Die is more my thing anyway. I just wanted to hear your opinion! Because I'm not as convinced as most people about the perfectness of the album.

      sample text I have few reasons why this album is held to a high degree in music history.
      Give thorough details on why you feel the way about the songs you listed.
      It’s all conservation really.

      @@sampletext8614 It may sound like the production is all the same if youre not too familiar with this brand of hip hop. Its like that for me with metal, all metal sounds the same to me and thats just because I dont really listen to it a lot. I actually think the production on Illmatic is diverse enough. You got the grittiness of ny state of mind, that spaced out beat on lifes a bitch, it slows down with one time 4 your mind, you got the loud boom bap on halftime and it aint hard to tell...

    • @mamba4817
      @mamba4817 Рік тому +1

      @@sampletext8614 Cohesive albums don't need to be extremely diverse.
      It's all about the execution in what your doing.
      Id argue it's the perfect amount of diversity.

    Totally agree with Myke. I'm from California, never been to New York, and when I heard NY State of Mind, I imagined being surrounded by dirty New York project buidlings, for some reason they were yellow, chipped bricks, partly cloudy weather, and the events happening in front of my eyes. It's totally mind blowing.

    Guys lay off Myke. Both of us were laughing at B's enthusiasm. You just can't see me with the way it was shot. We shouldn't have to explain this to you all since B knows this but since it is a big deal for whatever reason, I guess we have to address this instead of you all enjoying the review. Focus on the video and not made up nonsense please. Thank you.

      Yeah I don't blame feefo for listening to I Am first even though that album is decent compared to his worst albums but its no where near his best. Being born and raise in New York Its easily go me to make the correlation Nas Words and the Imagery I'm just surprise that Feefo didn't couldn't connect with as strongly as Myke, Feefo, and Kinge but Feefo has always been a little bit Different in that regard I guess Illmatic doesn't "Bump in the whip"

    Usually I don't do this but after watching this channel for nearly three years (Section 80 Review got me hooked!), I must say that all of you involved with DeadEndHipHop are doing something incredible and commendable. The fact that you go into detail with so many topics surrounding the culture is astounding. I think one of the absolute best parts is the stark contrast in your opinions, which creates a brilliant vibe for debate and entertainment. Tbh even if y'all quit tomorrow you would have contributed so much. Today just topped that off, and I was happy to see Beezy430 talk on something which probably changed his life perspective on music as it did mine. I have to admit though despite Illmatic being the raw classic but Stillmatic tops it IMO.

    Feefo was really showing his youth and inexperince to the magnitude of the album. HipHop perfection was created on illmatic. The album showed the industry lyrical growth. That you can be street and have a vast vocabulary when it comes to lyrical content. Nas picked the torch up from KRS-Oe, and Rakim as the lyrical leader of that generation.

    • @Sedrick
      @Sedrick 10 років тому +6

      Because it is also their most, or just one of their two most forgettable albums. Classic albums are NOT made just because a classic artist made them and the album is old. ATLiens, Aquemini, Stankonia, and even Speakerboxxx/The Love Below are all far more deserving because they are all great classics. The point of classic album reviews isn't to celebrate a big artist's first album.

    • @BhrisBenoit
      @BhrisBenoit 10 років тому +1

      Sedrick Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik is considered a classic album by many people, and also considered one of the best Southern Rap albums ever. It was this album that made OutKast and Southern Rap somewhat relevant in comparison to the East, West and Midwest.

    Illmatic is the album that made me fall in love with Hip-Hop. I didn't hear it 'till summer of 2006 though; I was born in '91, and I was about to turn 3 when it came out, plus I wasn't allowed to listen to rap until I got older.
    But this album (especially "The World Is Yours," my favorite track) made me understand and appreciate the genre. This album helped me hone my craft as a writer and poet, and anytime I find myself stuck creatively, this is one of the albums that helps me get back in my zone.
    Great review.

    I stand corrected a bit. It was cool for feefo saying he didn't love it like most people did, especially since this is one of those albums the hip hop community would chastise you for if you said anything bad about it. its cool to here beezy so animated too

    I never understood why people loved Nasty Nas until I listened to illmatic. Classic rap at its best.
    And then when he dropped Ether, Nas definitely has a spot in my top 5 inspirational and lyrical artist.

    This was the album that made me fell in love with hip hop, before I liked Hip hop but it wasn't something I would get into until I was around the 8th grade and my cousin's cousin (not part of my family nor blood related) got me into nas and illmatic and from then on I loved hip hop buying vinyl records and made me who I am today.
