I spoke to a husq rep when they first came out with the 535 and tried pushing him to talk to management and have them put it on the pole saw , what do all you people think ?
I have an older 535LS, I noticed they changed the newer 535ls/535lst to a smaller shatter and m10 connector vs my older one had an m12 connected and could fit the larger t45x head. I used my old one for overgrown ditches, it’s finally wearing out so I got a 535ls and LST to see how the new ones work with the smaller t35 heads or if I need to use a larger speed feed head with them. I use 525lst and mark 2 versions on cemeteries…best lightweight weedeaters on market no comparison. The echo 2620t isn’t nearly as refined…it weighs almost as much as newer 535lst plus the echo is cable drive and vibrates too much. Stihl fs94r is cable drive but lighter and smoother…if it wasn’t so under powered it be better but can’t keep up with husky, if it was more powerful it would need a shaft drive to lower vibe. Most other Stihl trimmers are junk 4 mix except the 240r which I have with 10” 3 point blade for when I have stuff too woody for 535ls. Then of course the 560ce with 14” 3 point blade, will lop off small 2.5 inch diameter trees with ease.
I typically use Echo Black Diamond, but the 525 currently has some Titanium xPro line in it. Will be switching back to the Black Diamond when it runs out.
can you fit speedfeed450 onto 535?just not a fan of hasqi head. im looking into buying a 535, weight is not a issue as i use stihl fs131(1.3kw)/shindaiwa t303ts(1.3kw) daily, from datasheet 535 is same weight as t303 so i think i can handle it.just need bit more power (1.5kw) for some thick stuff daily.i have some 3weekly mowing clients do need power to deal with edges.
The quick and dirty answer is: FS94R is my go-to every day trimmer, better balance and hand feel (to me), the 525LST definitely has more torque though and is my go-to when i get into heavy stuff or need to throw on a brush blade and go to town on some thick stalky brush. Both are great and are on the trailer atm, but I definitely use the 94R more.
Awesome, thanks for the reply. I've got a fs240r for heavy stuff so the 94r sounds like it will compliment it then. Seems like people are really like the 525lst though hence why I asked the question
@@NoNew42 That's probably because it's only counting the weight of the power head. If you added a trimmer head to it it would probably be heavier than the 94R. Great versatility, but having the extra connection hardware in the middle of the shaft makes it a little bit heavier. KM94R is 8.8 lbs, the KM trimmer head is 2.6, so 11.4 lbs total. The 94R is only 10.1 lbs (all numbers pulled from Stihl's website).
Personally I run 2 535LK's and wouldn't swap them for anything! I find the balance is very good, and being a combi, you can switch heads in seconds. I bought extra heads, meaning I can go from light trimmer line to a clearing saw in seconds!
Same issues with 535. I have the LS. I have barely used it since I got a 525 LST. It doesn’t bog on anything, but it sucks down gas, and will wear you out. I think part of the torque problem is related to the handle design, as it has rubber isolators in it, which lets the handle twist. It’s just enough that when you hit the gas, it will twist and give it momentum and it jerks on your wrist, arm, and shoulder. The 525LST is so much more comfortable, without the fatigue and really, haven’t found much it won’t cut through without ease.
Mathematically, horsepower equals torque multiplied by rpm. H = T x rpm/5252, where H is horsepower, T is pound-feet, rpm is how fast the engine is spinning, and 5252 is a constant that makes the units jibe. So the gearhead doesn’t create power w different gearing. Power is ultimately coming from the engine. There are losses all the way to the delivery point-at the grass. At high rpm but no weeds there is little power because there is little torque. As you keep high rpm and move into heavy weeds torque and therefore power goes up. There’s only a maximum engine power output. It can be delivered with more torque and less rpm or vice versa. Kind of like a motorcycle vs a dump-truck. Motorcycles have relatively low torque and develop power at higher rpm. RPM not RPMs. Revolutions per minute is plural. Don’t need another s. It’s tautology.
I wish husqvarna made a 30cc combi trimmer, I use the 525 and its often underpowered for my needs but I know a 35cc is going to be abit much. Still going to get one 🤷♂️
I just picked up the 525l lacks power is the lst ver give more power actually
Thank you! That was just the advice I was looking for.

Husqvarna makes a speed feed trimmer head it's like a auto speed feed trimmer on a Stihl

I have the 525ls. Love it. Has more power and a solid drive shaft relative to the 525l but does not have the torque gear reduction.
Any problem running .105 line in the 525LST, like bogging the head down?
I have never personally ran .105, but I would be very surprised if it couldn't handle it just fine.
Those are very good weedeater husqvarna so what line you use on your trimmer heads sir
I typically use Echo Black Diamond, but the 525 currently has some Titanium xPro line in it. Will be switching back to the Black Diamond when it runs out.
Cool i have a 525l husqvarna in its very good too
I am 6'5 and the 535 lst is light and gets the job done imo.
I'm 5'6" and slept in the Holiday Inn last night. How would it do for me? 😂
Any idea difference between 525LST and 525LST mark 2 ?
I don't know a whole lot about it, Exterminator Lawn Care has a video about it i believe.
A litteratur mor Power

I'm sure it won't have any issues with it. The kit you buy with the speedfeed heads have adapters for the different brands.
I run the speed feed 450 on my 535 but I'll probably upgrade to the 500.
You need to use a brush cutter blade with the 535 lol the thing is a beast but you won't ever find any line that wants to go through thick brush
Good stuff
Get an echo 2620t for your heavier stuff I use a lst also love it's super light weight but feel it just falls short on the thick stuff.
would love to try one (actually a lot of the echo stuff), but the nearest Echo dealers are both two counties over in opposite directions....
I just bought the 525 lst not happy with the power and taking it back to get a 535 lst

Get the KM94R. Same power but it’s the lightest weedeater available at 8lbs

I agree completely, I actually just listed my 525L for sale, as it has sat all last season. I lean on my 94R and the 525LST.

Try the new 500 speed feed head
Husqvarna makes a 130L model
