This video makes me so happy. As a teacher who has to supply so many items for my class and students it makes me happy to see parents who understand, don’t question and follow through with supplies. It’s tough when you run out of Kleenex in Dec and have to beg and plead for kids to bring some in. Thank you! Happy Back to School!
This definitely helps we are doing back to school backpacks with school supplies for some of our struggling coworkers. I am pretty sure this will allow me to get a lot of stuff for the kiddos within budget!!!
Hey everyone. I wanted to share what my public school (I work there and my kids attend) sends out: "Donations of supplies are not required, but always welcome. Most items will be pooled and distributed as needed throughout the year. Thank you!!" Then the list is printed below. We send this letter at the end of the school year to give parents a big heads-up. If your school is making you feel that donations are mandatory rather than a generous, much needed help, you may want to talk to your school's principal.
We are finishing up this week. I have a few uniform bottoms coming in the mail from children’s place. School supplies will be from Target, Walmart, and Dollar Tree. I’m also making a little gift basket for the teachers too
I'm another mom who tries to send in everything asked for, plus extras. Not everyone in our community is fortunate enough to be able to provide school supplies for their kids so I always send extras. ALSO while we are all out buying supplies, consider purchasing an extra box of granola bars to donate to the class for kids who dont have a snack
We get our list from either the school online or some of the stores have the list( Missouri). We try to send what we can afford. Yeah it's important to give what you can because teachers have a lot to deal with and supporting a class financially gets difficult out of pocket!
Thank you for stopping at Staples and Five Below! I saw a few of the last minute items I need to get for my daughter. Her list includes both class and art box supplies and while it seems like a lot, I do have a lot of educator friends and the schools just don’t get enough money otherwise. So I too just send what’s all on the list and just make sure to save for it yearly!
My twins are 4 and it's their first year in all day school. The lists are only about 10 things per child. In the US we don't pay our teachers nearly enough and I know not all parents can afford to get everything so I don't mind buying what's on the lists. My parents did it for my sister and I, now it's our turn 😌
Our 5 year old starts school this Monday. He goes to a charter school. This will be his second year. Majority of their list is “community property”. So I guess it helps make up for the families that can’t afford to send everything on the list.
Lol....you have self control....I would have totally gone for those erasable highlighters!!! Yes for bible study....I would have been erasing in the name of the Lord 🤣🤣🤣
Just a FYI I live in Canada and the Salvation Army missions collect school supplies and back packs and gives them to families in need. When my kids were small I used to buy extra basic school supplies and send them in to give to the teachers for those who were in need.
My daughter actually started school on Monday the 29th and we live in southern GA & I’m still shocked at how much you had to send in our list was literally about 20 things including the extras(paper towels, paper plates etc)
I've started on clothes and shoes. We don't get school supply lists until meet the teacher day which is the day before school. And on our lists they have the required things and then the suggested things. I usually get both.
Hi Gia, I love your videos. You keep it real and are a natural. Also back to school is my fav time of the year as well. I wait till it gets closer to school opening and then buy. My local Kroger sells supplies and they will have great deals in the next couple weeks. Sometimes I will buy more and donate or send extra to the school. Good luck to your adorable girls with their new school.
Hey Gia! I just want to tell you again how much we appreciate how open you are and honest with allll your videos. I hope your girls have an exceptional school year!
I absolutely LOVE back to school shopping!! My daughter loves it as well. Her list was very small this year (4th grade public school) and I managed to get everything in one trip to Walmart for around $30. I’m kind of sad it’s over already. Haha. So now we are going to focus on clothing and some new boots. I shop mostly second hand, but usually invest in a few new pieces for back to school. We did already score a great pair of sandals at Walmart for only $7! She needed some new ones that have a strap around the heel for school. :)
Hi, Love your channel. My oldest daughter attend a charter school from Kindergarten to fifth grade, this is the norm with school supplies. I live in Brooklyn NY and every back to school year this was our list. It can be pricey when you have other children to also buy supplies but as you stated you plan for this. I'm like you I buy all the items on the list.
My son is starting kindergarten and the school prefer that we pay $30 for the year for school supplies. We are going to try it as well as buy some back up supplies.
Ooh I was looking for colored marble notebooks. My Walmart’s and targets only had them in black orange and green. I need to stop in 5below now for the pink and blue one. Hopefully they still have them.
We are 5 weeks tomorrow from the first day of school. Not ready AT ALL to start shopping/looking. Our list will arrive about the week prior. Kindergarten was the MOST expensive by far. That year was $150 for just one child! A public school/not Charter! It has been much more reasonable after kindergarten.
the concept of buying supplies is odd to me like you said, in the uk we do not need to do this but i love watching your back to school hauls x 2 weeks and 6 days till school goes back for me (scotland uk) not that i am counting :) haha x
Wow!!!! That list is serious. When my son was younger I always over shopped a bit more but that is a lot now. I would not have survived this. Lord I pray for parents with multiple children. I appreciate you because if I dare have another child, I will sure save throughout the year to be ready.
Girl, Kroger ran there 12 count colored pencils last week for .49 cent. They actually ran out on the sale date. I spoke with the supervisor and got 5 boxes of the 24 count for .49 cent each. Winning.... I totally forgot about Five Below for headphones. Thanks.
Just an FYI charter school operate with a lower budget per student verse a traditional public school. Teachers need every ream of paper ,every ziplock and pencil.
I just looked at our girls school list and one had like binders and notebooks it was like 3 things. The other had a longer list. It was like one Kleenex, hand sanitizer, pencils, ziplocks, clorax wipes. But it also said that once the school year start the teachers will have less of what they need to bring. so I'm not sure back to school shopping list what they actually do need some seats two seater differs some just going to get the basic supplies. Typically we have to send a pencil box with supplies in them. We did need book covers for my daughter who started third grade last year. So I'm guessing for 4th grade she will need them again and then my other daughter is going into second.
I did back to school shopping yesterday, and I got almost everything. I still need to get liquid glue, that I thought I had, 2 more composition books, because I am trying to find marble composition notebooks 100 sheet count. Of course my daughter wants different color marble ones to tell them apart for different classes. Other than that all we have left is to buy new tennis shoes for school, which I will probably go get this weekend.
I think that your list is totally reasonable. Not out of the normal at all. I assume that they expect everything on the list. I always send extras and get large sizes (Costco) of most things and still only spend less than $100 plus backpacks/lunchboxes for three kids.
We go to public school- 10th, 8th, and 5th grade this year- in Texas. I always thought we had to send in a lot for back to school but your list is crazy! 13 reams of paper- wow! By the way, we just exchanged a pair of headphones at 5 below because they stopped working after we had them for a week. Go figure!
As a former teacher, let me just say that I understand that it seems like they're asking for a lot of copy paper. However, if you had only 20 kids in your class (and often class sizes are much larger) and only had to make 1 copy for each child for every day of the school year (typically 180 days) you would need 3,600 sheets of paper, or most of one box (assuming, there are 10 reams in a box, which is typical). Then if you assume that many parents can't afford to send all their supplies in (or won't, even if they can afford it) and teachers typically end up having to buy copy paper. The schools should supply it but it's becoming more and more rare for that to happen which makes me so angry. Can you imagine an office where the CEO said you have to bring your own copy paper in?
That finger paint soap is worthless unless they have changed it since I bought it like 2 years ago. The kids should be able to paint on the bathtub and walls but it falls right off, so no pictures. I live in the US and I'm still surprised with schools that ask for all of the supplies, schools where I'm at don't ask for anything.
Where are the teachers even storing all of these supplies if every child is bringing in that quantity? They probably should have split it up and asked for half now then half after winter break.
Your school supply list = Welcome to Charter schools. From my experience, charter schools receive less funding than regular USD schools therefore they rely heavily on parent donations. However I believe supply donations are blessings to our children and their teachers regardless of the type of public school. Keep doing what u are doing!
GIRL, I LOVE YOUR BACK TO SCHOOL HAUL, SUNDAY SETUP.GIRL MY KIDS ARE GROWN BUT I STILL BUY COPIER PAPER AND I LOVE PENS, PRAY FOR ME ILOVE COLOR PENCILS.WHEN TARget have notebook be 75 cent.I stock up.
Last year my son enrolled his daughter in the elementary school he went to because her mother refused to send her to school. I did all the school supplies which were alot for pre-k then 2 months later her Mom moved into an apartment across the street from another school & demanded my son take her out of school to be enrolled in school across the street. So I am not for hearing about school supplies but what are you gonna do. This also included no uniforms to yes uniforms. Anyway enjoyed the vid. And I have another going to pre k this year. Here we go again!!!!
We are almost done We don’t get a list until the first day of school But I always buy the stuff I know the always ask for because if we don’t we won’t get the sale prices And I won’t pay full price for crayons if I could’ve gotten them for .50 a box
Its not a charter school thing to ask for more supplies. Ive gone to both public school and charter school. Public schools ask for more in my experince.
We bring in the supplies in my school and the school has extra but in case u dont have enough money the school does a what u need and tries to get everthing for the ones who need. My teacger ran out of paper and said if we brought in a pack of paper extra credit i brought in 2 packs and halloween decor 50 extra credit tgis is how how i kept that high B. Which i got a reward if i kept As and Bs

I agree! Thanks for watching!
I always re-up consumables like Kleenex, Clorox wipes and paper towels. I ask what they are running low on for the new January semester
I buy for my grandson, I had to buy triple of everything, I don’t mind if it helps others who can’t afford to buy school supplies
This definitely helps we are doing back to school backpacks with school supplies for some of our struggling coworkers. I am pretty sure this will allow me to get a lot of stuff for the kiddos within budget!!!

You know that ,"yes girl", notebook is all you.😆😉
We are finishing up this week. I have a few uniform bottoms coming in the mail from children’s place. School supplies will be from Target, Walmart, and Dollar Tree. I’m also making a little gift basket for the teachers too
I used to send everything on the list also. When my kids were little. It really does help the teachers
I'm another mom who tries to send in everything asked for, plus extras. Not everyone in our community is fortunate enough to be able to provide school supplies for their kids so I always send extras. She definitely needs it! Her list seems agonizing!! She better have self control for the things she doesn't need 😂🤣
Lol, I'd like see how that would work.
Just a FYI I live in Canada and the Salvation Army missions collect school supplies and back packs and gives them to families in need. When my kids were small I used to buy extra basic school supplies and send them in to give to the teachers for those who were in need.
Did you just say “ mechanical pencil sharpener?” 🤣
My daughter actually started school on Monday the 29th and we live in southern GA & I’m still shocked at how much you had to send in our list was literally about 20 things including the extras(paper towels, paper plates etc)
It blows my mind that you can keep all these prices straight in your head! Happy “New Year!”
I’m a numbers person😂🤣😂
I've started on clothes and shoes. We don't get school supply lists until meet the teacher day which is the day before school. And on our lists they have the required things and then the suggested things. I usually get both.
Finally someone who does not disable the coments
I live in Australia our back to school is late January to early February. I love your Channel and all you videos
My kids school district started supplying school supplies a few years back for the elementary and middle school kids. Thank God for that🙌🏾
Love to watch this type of videos!!! Thank you!
We are getting a five below this fall. Thanks for the sneak peek!
I purchased the erasable colored pencils last year. My youngest child really enjoyed these colored pencils.

"We can make a drinking game!" 😂 what are we drinking?
😘😘😘
You're spoiling me with these hauls... Lol
😘😘😘
Have you thought about ordering them online and picking up the markers in the store?
That wouldn't make for a good video, LOL
But you can see more in the the store and the price so you know what’s a better price
Bout to sit and watch this right here!!
Thank God my kids are grown. I do buy my grandson his school supplies and clothes.
The girls are so stylish!! Too cute!
I am done! 🙌🏼
I do enjoy back-to-school shopping though and catching all the good deals without all the crowds.

@Hailey Carnley I live in North Carolina, but I live close to Virginia and there's doesn't start until this weekend!!
I looove Five Below. I'm all about back to school time for my own office supplies lol. Gimme a few years before my kids need it!
FYI target, Office Depot and office max do price match.
the concept of buying supplies is odd to me like you said, in the uk we do not need to do this but i love watching your back to school hauls x 2 weeks and 6 days till school goes back for me (scotland uk) not that i am counting :) haha x

Those silky crayons are brilliant so easy for our kids that have special needs some find it hard to hold and lean on the page there just so smooth
Just an FYI charter school operate with a lower budget per student verse a traditional public school. Teachers need every ream of paper ,every ziplock and pencil.
And its usually community use. So, students share.
Rosa Ramos wow!!! So sad that schools don’t provide for their educators.

Great job Gia and Charles ! You did it! Good luck to the girls for a new school year !!!!

We bought headphones on Amazon that have held up nicely and they fold for about 10...one cord.quit working but they can be replaced!
I think that your list is totally reasonable. Not out of the normal at all. I assume that they expect everything on the list. I always send extras and get large sizes (Costco) of most things and still only spend less than $100 plus backpacks/lunchboxes for three kids.
Yes! My daughter goes to a charter school and her list is long and plentiful compared to my son.
We go to public school- 10th, 8th, and 5th grade this year- in Texas. I always thought we had to send in a lot for back to school but your list is crazy! 13 reams of paper- wow! I don't mind buying extra school supplies either. I'll help out anyway I can!

I live for your puff Jia!! I think we need a puff tutorial girl!lol
I love the Flair pens!
I dont mind watching back to school shopping, but I dont want to do anymore shopping lol :)
We live in IL and the list were online pretty early . We just waited for the stores to put the items out.
Girl!!! thank you for this video and your last video it has saved time and money. keep them videos coming girl.
We got headphones from amazon prime (free shipping) And they were a little pricey but they lasted over 3 years and still work brand new.
The new storage goes really fast around here. Somehow people know when they first stock and run and buy them all. 🤷🏻♀️
We got our school list when the school sent out the report cards... I've had their list since the middle of June LOL. LOVE your channel!!!
Yes I love your vlogs thank you so much for sharing 😘💖
😘😘😘
Thanks for going to Staples so now I don’t have to! 🌸
I buy a lot for my kids too (I have 3). I also buy everything on their list to donate to their class
I really feel like Walmart had amazing deals this year!!
YES!! Walmart is my favorite store for back to school then Target!!
Where are the teachers even storing all of these supplies if every child is bringing in that quantity? They probably should have split it up and asked for half now then half after winter break.
I've taught in three different public school districts and I have never seen a list that extensive! It must be because it's a charter school.
Hi Jia. Love ur vids. Could you please do a video on your experience and tips for applying to charter schools?
Im in NJ and think that your list is pretty wow! That's alot. And i also send everything on the list with extras, so I get it!
I went to a charter school for 4 years and I had to get more school supplies then a regular school
the bathtub soap from crayola is totally safe :) the kids i babysit use it!
My kids got their school supplies list on the last day of school in May
My sons almost 2 but I'm so ready to go back to school shopping lol

Love your hauls!! I'm just getting started.
Thanks for watching😘
Omg I haven’t been to our 5 below store, but I will surly make a trip this week to get my kids some headphones!
We are almost done
We don’t get a list until the first day of school
But I always buy the stuff I know the always ask for because if we don’t we won’t get the sale prices
And I won’t pay full price for crayons if I could’ve gotten them for .50 a box
I always send in the whole list for my son
Are Ticonderoga pencils the same price on Amazon as they are at Costco ?
My teenagers are on the second week of school.
Its not a charter school thing to ask for more supplies. Ive gone to both public school and charter school. Public schools ask for more in my experince.
The new baskets were up front at my DT. I wish I had a five below where I live ;(
25:53 How did you find those white erasers I really need them, I heard They erase really good. I’m going back to the dollar tree 😆
I spell wrong but 😏💃🎵
I got my daughter 2 pairs of headphones from 5below and they broke... so be careful especially if she's hard on things 💖
They both are🤦🏾♀️
My 2 year old loves the finger paint by crayola
Omg yes go to Aldi
Walmart has CrazArt washable markers for 50 cents!
Staples kinda high? Staples are high! I go to Target for every back to school year and Five and below.
I love your hydrated curls! The school supplies list had me shocked. Are these common requests from the public school?
Yes girls! The curls were coming thru with the moisture
Our school doesn’t give us the list until the Thursday/Friday before school starts..
Whaaaaaat?!?
Marriage & Motherhood I know. Its crazy. I asked the school what supplies he would need for TK and they told me nothing. I know that cant be right lol.
