    Sambar, Rasam, Dosa/Idli/ upma / Pongal (popular In Tamil Nadu) are cooked on a daily basis in a typical south Indian home. It is our staple meal.
    Eating papad with Sweet (Payasam) is also new to me (I am from Tamil Nadu). This is not a common practice. It totally depends on individual's taste preference.

      In kerala, paayasam and papad are eaten together as shown in the video. Aldo, paayasam and ripe small banana are eaten together.

    There are different varieties of sambar. It all depends on the combination of vegetables with which it can be prepared!!! This variety is called "Kadhamba Sambar" which is prepared using multiple vegetables.

    Dear Iman,
    I make sambhaar every week because my kids love it. I studied from a Tamil school in Delhi so I can read and write tamil.its the most healthy meal.
    I am basically from Uttarakhand but born and braut up in Delhi. Delhi one can get softest idli. I make it once in a fortnight. Aur Iman you are like my mom she also gets her hands burnt in kitchen very often
    I use a sil batta and not a mixie.

    It’s very difficult to include all these vegetables in sambar obviously as it’s very less quantity at home 😅. But when I eat sambar in famous restaurants or at marriage functions,temple etc they are so flavourful and tasty. Can’t be prepared such at home. I lived few years in Tamilnadu and visited other South Indian states but tbh, Tamilnadu sambar is best I think. ❤from Gujarat.

    Yes, we make sambar, at least a couple of times every month , in the USA. However we use ready to use masala powders, and a blender to grind pastes. Also a smaller number of vegetables in the sambar… typically carrots, potatoes, radish

    Sambar, Rasam and Curd are a must in all South lndian food. And is made fresh daily. Without these 3 dishes no South lndian meal is complete.

    Vegetables are what you want to use. Its your choice. But daal is must and other preparation. You can get sambar masala in market.

    Sambar is a very common dish in South India. It is an everyday dish in every homes and restaurants. A lunch without sambar is impossible. For breakfast also sambar is a must if it is dosa, idly, Pongal etc. Also there many methods of making this. Always there will be minimum 8-10 vegetables used in it.

    Ji Haan South India ke gharo mein is tarah se sambhar easily banta hai aur kai gharo mein roz Banta hai. Chawal ko sambhar ya rasam ya buttermilk ke saath aur gravy wali sabzi ke saath bhi khate hai. Taley huwe papad aur payasam ya seviya bhi khane mein hoti hai aur itne masalo ke saath sambhar ka taste laajawab hota hai

    Kerala we eat chaaval with sambar pappadam pickle and with other vegetable curries...payasam with banana is a must ...during festival seasons during our marriage mostly we make sadhya....idli with sambar is my favourite breakfast.....😊😊😊

    Yes, Sambaar is quite common in Indian cuisine, and it is not difficult to make, in fact it is very easy to make. And it is pronounced as Saambaar not sambar, which is the problem with lot of North Indian people. Saambaar can be made with just any single vegetable or with 2 or 3 vegetables.The small onion which you saw them putting is called Saambaar onion or shallots, and drumstick is eaten by sucking the pulp and throwing away the skin.
    Saambaar is made in different ways in different south indian states. And the oil they used was Sesame oil which is used for making Saambaar. Making Idly / dosa Uthappam etc is all very easy and can be made with 1 batter itself. We have varieties of tiffins like upma, Wadas, Adai, Pesarattu, etc, we have so many healthy varieties that eating everyday only bread is absolutely out of question. The Saambaar made in the video was very different from the way we normally make, for many of us don't add raw mango and garlic to the saambaar. And i was also surprised to see a lady eat paad with Payasam or kheer. And Kheer also we have many different varieties. Indian cuisine is mindblowing.
    We also love to have curd rice without which no south indian meal is complete, for it is very cooling especially in summer, we would carry it in our tiffin box to school,colleges and offices and enjoy it during lunch time with some lemon or mango pickle.
    Learning to make Indian dishes is easy peasy with the youtube, you just have to write Indian food and you will get countless channels there and with step by step instructions.
    I myself have a FB page where I post pictures of dfferent dishes both south indian as well as north indian with recipes.
    In India we also get ready to make fresh Idly / dsa batter which can stay in the fridge for 5 days.

    South Indian food is very different to North Indian food. Shouldn’t compare the two. Even Biriyani has its origin in Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh - another South Indian state that has its state language - Telugu - sung in every part of the world right now after the Oscar win for the Telugu song - Naatu Naatu. We are Dravidians and are proud ones at that too.

    Each state has different taste.. but the masalas will be be the same.. there are many many varieties. We south Indians every other day we prepare sambar.. with rice, idly, dosa.. most of the villages people do the hand grinding masalas.. I would like to suggest one more channel please react to that videos also.. "" life in wetland "" the channel is from kerala.. surely you will like it.. even one tamil channel " traditional life"".. in Andhra you can check "food on farm"if you like to watch village life you will surely like these videos

    sambar, or kolambu, resam, porial and curd with rice and appam or papaya. Every day. I am a pure vegetarian. So we don't eat eggs or meat. We only consume dairy and vegetables

    Basically sambhar is of different kinds, in many sambhars onion and garlic were not used, even if you go in local mess of Tamil nadu you get raddish sambhar, pumpkin sambhar, very wide and diverse taste you find there

    Moazzam pl know we never use peas nor kairee raw mango in sambar pl know this fact
    Don’t get misled also we don’t use Palak
    Chana daal is never used in sambar Dear imaan it is toor daal which Hindi people sometimes say arhar ki daal
