Benefits of Eating food with your hands
    1. When eating hot food, your hands will experience the heat and tells you whether the temperature is ok for you to eat or not. Otherwise if its too hot and you eat your food with spoon.. your tongue and mouth will burn. Many would have experienced this with soups as we can't use bare hands for soup.
    2. Your hand size tells you how much food fits in your mouth at a time. If you use a spoon for some it may be right size for some small and for some big... you would have seen kids struggling to eat food with large spoons at restaurants.
    3. Rice, lentils used to have some small rocks.. when you are mixing food with your hand...you can catch them before chewing and damaging your tooth... when i ordered food online, couple of times have seen stapler pins in food... my hand caught them before it reached my mouth...
    4. Your fingers will tell you whether the food is cooked well or not. like rice, daal. whether food is hard or soft... whether food is hot or cold...
    5. When eating food with spoon, for every bite the first taste you experience is of the spoon.. either metallic or plastic... not the food taste first...

Eating with hands make us not only taste food better but also feel the food.
Eating with hands actually improves metabolism and food gets digested easily.
A combination of sitting on floor cross legged, which is called sukhasan, eating from banana leaf with hands improves metabolism and those who eat like this will not only enjoy their food but stay healthy too because several digestive issues arise not only because of wrong food we eat but the way we eat it.
The modern lifestyle is making the man unhealthy, almost every second person suffers from constipation.
Also, cutlery is an added expense.
Many nonvegetarians argue that vegetarians doesn't get enough protein. All pulses are rich in proteins.
Raw mango and coconut are used as ingredients in several dishes in South of India.Coconut is used in desserts too.

Actually while eating with hands, your food shouldn't be all over your hand or even your palm! The extent it reaches at most is just 2/3 of your fingers and eating with both hands is prohibited🚫! That's the basics that's taught to all(at least according to what I know) Indian kids!
The people in this video are from an old age home and some of them seem to have some sort of coordination problems :'( so their eating looks messy
Edit: people who make videos on eating challenges mostly exaggerate whatever they do, so believe me that's not how they eat at home(that so if they don't wanna be called an animal by their parents/siblings)

Ayurvedic texts teach that each finger is an extension of one of the five elements (also washing your hands before meal is mandatory):
    Through the thumb comes space
    Through the forefinger comes air
    Through the mid-finger comes fire
Through the ring finger comes water
Through the pinky finger comes earth
When you eat with your hands, you are supposed to do so by joining all fingers together. This is believed to improve our consciousness of the taste of the food we eat. Not only are you feeding your body but also your mind and spirit. When you touch your food with your hands, you’re creating a physical and spiritual connection with it. You’re also much more present in the moment. When food is touched with the hands, there’s automatically more careful attention placed on it - what the temperature is, how much you can carry, how the hand must be held in order to keep the food in it.

Eating is sensory. And, in using your hands, you take the sensory experience to another level. You add another whole sense-touch. Since so much of taste and enjoyment of food is about texture, your hands function as another way of exploring the feel, the consistency, the make-up of your food. It is not harmful to humans, it, in fact, protects us from many damaging microbes in the environment. When you eat with your hands, the flora in the fingers is swallowed. It is beneficial for health and for various body parts such as the mouth, throat, and intestine, and it promotes healthy digestion in the gut.

I have eaten with both Hands and Utensils (as most of us Indians) and I can with a 100% confidence say that whenever I'm eating food with my bare hands, I can sense more satisfaction like more Endorphins and hormones are getting released which, in comparison to Utensils, feels way more satisfying and fulfilling and gives a warm feeling and makes you feel closer to your food. Westerners and mainly Americans have this stigma around eating with hands and sanitation, because you're eating out a lot. When you're at home and cooking your own food and at the end eating it with your bare hands, I promise you will be the most satisfied you have ever been with a meal.

Sago is also used across south, southeast and (usually southern part of) east Asia as a desert or carbohydrate. Some examples (other than from the video) is sago gula melaka, which is sago with palm sugar, eaten in southeast Asia, or as a carbohydrate in Okinawa (although the one from Okinawa is from a cycad instead of a palm, and because the cycad is poisonous, the sago needs to be washed repeatedly to leech out the poison).

I mostly use spoon when I am eating. sometimes when I eat yellow daal with rice it feels sticky & messy which I don't like. but I like it with kadhi, chhole & Rajma - chawal❤️. Also as a north- Indian, the way these people were eating was bit wild for me. By wild I mean they were putting whole fingers & they were eating so fast 😅. In a restaurant I would be horrified if I see people eat like that (In North India) while I know it's common in South. But that would be normal for me, if they eat with hands in langar and Bhandara. May be Not All five fingers, in Some area people used only 4 or 3 fingers except thumb. (Like in western part of india : Maharastra, Gujraat and Goa....North Eastern Indian along with WB and Odissa)

Jaby that is nol doll it's dal /pulse/lentils. Some pulse need to soak for overnight or 8/10/12 hours for getting soft before cooking. And some of pluse/lentils are very soft like moong daal ,arhar/tur daal ets they are very soft so they can be soft if you soak them just few minutes or half and hour ago before cooking .it will melt easily and become a fine paste and after that you can manage the consistency of dal like thick or soupy.
