This looks like a great gimbal. Not only the active tracking, but being able to change settings on my S5ii with the DJI app is huge. Plus, that dial to adjust the plate under the camera for balancing should be in every gimbal by every manufacturer. This gimbal is on my B&H wishlist now.
Another great video. I just ordered a GH5 M2, thanks to your plethora of detailed videos on the GH5 series. How many of these great features are available on that camera?
Active track has been there since years for Lumix S5 series cameras but wish they introduce active track in wireless mode and also allow us to track anything where the focus is set locked except the face.
@@GeekyNerdyTechy Yeah, definitely cool. But seems liken no one explored this tracking feature enough in Lumix+Dji. I want to hear more potential, like is it possible to track anything else other than faces? DJI being part of L Mount alliance, they provided this feature since their 3 series gimbals in S5.
The DJI RS4 is a great pairing for any recent Lumix camera thanks to the active track technology! Thanks to DJI for sending it out for my review and testing. Great review Shane, I didn’t know about the follow mode for Lumix cameras maybe that was added after I bought it but I’ll have to check that out. I bought the RS4 about two days after it was released back in April this year (almost bought the RS3 before I noticed a DJI announcement coming up later that night). I also owned a Ronin S which I bought back in 2021 but I hated it. As you mentioned it weighed a ton and I found it was impossible to balance a camera on it as it flopped around without axis locks. The RS4 on the other hand is amazing, very easy to use and balance. I also looked at the RS3 Mini as an option but was worried about payload and clearance for my S5II especially with something like the DJI Mic attached so I went with the larger gimbal and I think that was the right choice. I also use a 3rd party briefcase handle and definitely recommend it.
Hi Jack, cool! I will check out the news. I think I am a bit out of loop with the new releases and yes, she's in plenty of my review videos of cameras, lenses, etc.
Have you compared this gimbal to the Zhiyun Weebill 3S? At least that's the one I've been looking at to get for my GH6 when I get it in the next couple weeks or so...
I haven't tried that but it should work with a face detected in the frame. How well it works at 200mm is yet to be seen haha. It should be usable at 70mm as 50mm worked pretty well. It's quite a fast pan so I would imagine 200mm might be stretching it a bit in terms of how smooth it looks.
@ Great break down! Yes 200 wigs out like a maniac on rs3pro. If ya ever get notified of a fw or if the rs4 pro has better capabillity id like ta know!Thank You
Hey, I just bought a S5II with Sigma 24-70 f2.8 II. While checking the settings, if i set exposure mode to M and turn the aperture dial, am getting rattling sound. Is it am issue or how to fix this. In P mode that noise is not there. Also, in P mode i hear that type of sound if i zoom in ir out the kens. Any thoughts? Appreciate any help here.
Aperture is a physical mechanism that opens and closes. You can hold it up to your eye and see it move. You usually hear it click, but it shouldn't be rattling. It sounds like the lens might be a tad lose potentially. I haven't used that one before but check the forums or reddit and see if anyone else has had the same issue. P mode bypasses the Aperture ring (or at least sets it to automatic) so it might not be as obvious potentially. Some aperture rings are louder than others, but a click when you move it is normal.
You’re welcome 😂
No way I could have done that 😅👍

I am going for the RS4 pro combo for my S5iiX and Rokinon 35-150mm lens. It's bulky lens and I think the RS4 Pro can handle the payload

Hi SASH. I've put a link in the description to the compatibility chart for you.
It would be a quick 3D print to make a cover for that terminal outlet.
@@GeekyNerdyTechy much appreciated.

Thanks for the heads up! I never had this on my old Ronin S (or never knew about it), at least. It's a cool piece of tech. 🙂

How much difference or similarity is there between the RS3 Pro Combo and the RS4 Pro Combo, when using Lumix cameras?
I haven't used the other one, but hopefully someone else can chime in at some point in the comments.
Just saw a video "Panasonic Lumix S5R - Flagship for Videographers? Forget Sony A7R VI" and at 01:37 is that the better half?

Any ideas if this would this work with Lumix S5D in combination with dji lidar and cheap old photo lenses (like old pentax primes with adoptor)?
im concerned about the weight balance when mounting a heavy lens for s9z which wide zoom lens better for s9 mount on dji rs4?
Just check the specs and see if the camera and lens falls within the weight requirements .
When using active track, you have no USB-C port for SSD 😢
Intrested to know if you have tried active track at 100ft w 70-200 2.8?

So it looks like DJI caching up to Zhiyun WEEBILL-S Gimbal Stabilizer + accessories from some time ago.
Attach your phone flat to a video head tripod for force mobile it’s way smoother and way better control
Great tip, thanks! :)
