You can buy elastic with the holes woven into it at a store that sells notions. I bought some for maternity pants. Looks the same as the elastic used in children's clothes (as you featured at the start of the video)
I just tried this on a pair of non-elastic dress pants and it worked perfectly and was so easy! It only took me an hour by hand. Thank you for the tutorial :)
Thanks so much! I have a pair of adult jeans someone else modified in this way and they're my favorite jeans... honestly the only jeans I wear anymore. I'm psyched to try this on other jeans I want to wear but am afraid of over-correcting with darts!
Ik this is super old but still. Since this is done with elastics I kinda doubt that. However, seamstresses usually add panels to achieve a bigger piece of clothing than what was originally there. Maybe search instead for easy ways to install clothing panels and you may have better luck in your search. Good luck and I hope this helped!
I did this alteration and found it helpful to sew around the edges of the slits and also around the edges of the slits made in the elastic to reduce fraying.
That could be a trend for you to get into. Menopausal women would appreciate it. When I was pregnant I would put rubber bands around my pant button and it would stretch as I stretched
Dear Shanna. Great idea!! The only that bothers me is that you are not pronouncing the ts in your speech. There are 2 ts in the word, so they are important. You're a smart girl and talented, speak like it. Not every sentence should be a question either. Sorry, I don't want offend, just let you know so you can sound more professional as I believe you will be a success in whatever you do.
I disagree and hope she isn't hurt by your comment. Girly (Shanna), your speech and inflections are fine. There's a way of speaking and behaving in every setting and this is your UA-cam channel, not an interview. So not only are you not expected to be professional, I actually think just being yourself is much better because it's more relatable to your audience. Just be yourself girlypop!
This is very clever. I agree with you that they should put those buttons inside the pants just like the little kids pants. That would be very helpful
I CAN'T believe how easy this looks! I needed your video. THANK YOU for making it super user friendly w/o a sewing machine!

Well that saved several pairs of shorts...Thank you!
Soo glad I found your tutorial. Been wanting to try it on my grandson's jeans.
This rocks! I was just talking with my roomie about needing elastic in some of my pants. Definitely going to try 🙂

This is GENIUS!!!!
I just did this on my Jeans and now they don't fall down every time i move. Thank you for your video !
There is elastic available with added slits like buttonholes, along the whole length
Hi Shanna!! Could you maybe do a tutorial on how to make the Blossom Pointelle Slip from the Victoria's Secret x For Love and Lemons collab?
Great video ! I am going to try adding elastic to the bottom of a crop top … to make it similar to a bra… so it won’t ride up.
Needed this, thank you!
Can this be used on jeans that are too tight on the waist?
That's great; thanks for sharing!
This is such a good idea and works wonders! Thank you
Thanks for the creative idea! This one’s unique and helpful
Amazing tutorial, thank you 👌
IDJDJDB this is so smart and creative🥵✨
I was just watching this thinking how you kind of reminded me of my friend, then I noticed you have the same last name 😯 cool video :)
Can this be applicable for enlarging tight jeans to make it a bit loose

Thank you for this!!
would this help if the waistband on my cargo pants are a size too small, and allow them to fit?
Diy sweat pants!!
Can you make a diy bustier top tutorial? 🥺🥺
yes pls 🤩
What brand are your jean shorts?😍
Hiii i just wanted to know if the holes you cut on the inner waistband stayed intact? Since a slit was made, didn't the denim fray over time?
I did this alteration and found it helpful to sew around the edges of the slits and also around the edges of the slits made in the elastic to reduce fraying.
Thank you
Did u make that top 😍
no, I thrifted it!
Thank you!
I ❤
Shanna i love you from Indonesia
Hi, thank you so much for your support :))
I don't understand how some people easily get the elastic through
