One thing I don't do is combine the spaghetti and sauce together. But that is my preference. I Like to put the spaghetti on the bottom, then the sauce on top. Then CHEESE. Parmashen or Aged Tasty cheese. I would use Mozzarella but, it has no taste to me. But I do this because I make large batches and then zip lock portions in the freezer with the sauce. Good when the newphews nieces come over. Or for us when we want a easy dinner or lunch. Just make the pasta and reheat the frozen spagetti sauce from the zip tie packet. Easy!
Some people add sugar to reduce the acidity of the tomatoes etc. Its not common in Spaghetti Sauce, but some do it. Our tongues are all tuned to different things. Tomato sauce is Acidic and Sugar counters out the acidicness. I don't add sugar, but alot of people do in certain countries.
