    This is our second K-Classic. We had our first one for many years, so when we had to replace it, we wanted nothing else but this exact ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf model. We use it for about three people everyday in the morning. The taste and quick brew is one of the reasons we like it so much. There are so many choices of brands of coffee that we would grab what was on sale and test the different brands from there. I would definitely recommend trying different brands of coffee to find the ones you like the most because there are brands that quite frankly taste horrible.

    The reason it comes out slower and hotter in the beginning is Keurig’s version of a “bloom”, it’s to get the grounds saturated and let off their gasses, then it’s ready to be brewed(the faster stream).

    Just found your channel today because I saw a Facebook add and bought this. I was at someone’s house a few ago and had this unit and I couldn’t understand why their coffee tasted some much better than mine. I now know, and there really is an “art” to brewing coffee properly with a Keurig and of course having one of the quality brewers. Great channel! Keep it up, I’m sure they’ll reward you someday.

    I have just a regular Keurig machine. I take the Kirkland brand bold and brew on a strong 8. I get a 30 ounce cup pack it with ice, and pour the coffee immediately over it. This leaves roughly about an inch and a half of room at the top for cream. I top it off with cream maybe a pump or so of vanilla..... guys I promise you this cup of coffee is strong. It’s not watered down. If you put it in a double wall stainless steel cup, it will stay strong throughout the day.

    Now I understand the details of all of this. Gosh, coffee is more complicated than i thought! I CANNOT WAIT for your cold brew video; that is the only way i drink it! Hubby is purely a hot coffee man, but not me. Iced all the way. Thanks again!

      Man coffee can get complicated and I'm not even close to coffee-snob status either, there's people out there that would not be caught dead with a Keurig in their home. I believe thoroughly in the 80/20 rule, do the easy 80 and get an excellent cup, good enough, the extra 20 is usually too much effort for regular day-to-day coffee drinking... especially when you got kids to deal with constantly like myself. For me I'm a hot coffee guy but I still appreciate a good cold brew from time to time. I'll try to get to that vid as soon as I can. Good to have you watching MissAmelieMarie! :D

    Just stumbled across this channel while looking for videos on the over ice option. Just bought a K-Supreme off amazon yesterday after I unboxed a Keurig mini that was a christmas gift a few years back over the weekend only to find it doesnt work. Going to attempt to repair it, the ready to brew light on that one doesnt come on but for the kitchen the having to add water every time wasnt that great but it would be great to use in my workshop for myself if I can fix it.
    I personally like both iced coffee and regular coffee but was curious about how it functions, I added quite a few "over ice" K-cups on my wish list to try as I use up what I currently have.

    I bought a 100 pack of Comfy 20 oz Clear Plastic cups and lids (similar not what you get from the coffee shops). Our LG refrigerator has perfectly shaped square cubes for the iced coffee. I use Nestle’s Italian Sweet Creme Coffeemate to flavor it. It is awesome and has saved me a ton by not spending close to $5 a pop at my favorite coffee shop. I can’t tell the difference and my biggest problem is keeping my 5 year old from sneaking sips.

    I wonder if using the strong button with say 4oz or 6oz option would result in a stronger iced coffee than this option? Nice detailed video, thanks.

    • @TopOffMyCoffee
      @TopOffMyCoffee  4 роки тому +3

      Ohh I'm glad you brought this up Ziad, as I was testing it didn't occur to me that the 4oz or 6oz option on the K-Supreme Plus with the strongest setting pushed might be an option. The strongest setting on that machine gives the most amount of water-to-grind contact time of them all - a full 1:45ish on the 8oz setting. Assuming the flow rate is uniform then the 4oz flow rate would be about 0:52 and the 6oz flow rate would be about 1:17, making the flow a pinch slower than the over ice flow rate of 1:03. The only difference is the split speed the over ice setting delivers at different temps. You are making me think of way too many tests to run, lol. I think the over ice setting is probably just fine although if you had the supreme plus and wanted a smaller iced coffee then that might be an option brewing with the 4oz button with a lower temp setting. Food for thought.

    The trick for doing ice coffee is to have huge ice cubes so they don’t melt so quickly. I make pour over iced coffee this way.

    • @TopOffMyCoffee
      @TopOffMyCoffee  3 роки тому

      True, that helps, smaller cubes have more surface area and will melt faster. Biggest and easiest tip though is to use a lot of ice, the more ice the better and the faster the brewed coffee will cool without a lot of melt.

I use the McDonald’s K cups and I added a little Italian cream taste terrific and I don’t drink coffee for fun just to relax, I drink it to stay awake when I go to work, I’m not wanting to go to Starbucks or anywhere just to drink a cuppa coffee as if it’s soda rather have soda😂

    I went from the elite to the supreme plus because of the lessened foot print, larger reservoir and reservoir handle, but am disappointed that it’s not as hot, takes much longer to brew, both due to it not staying on after 5 mins of use. Hard for me to accept, but I like the added benefits.

    • @TopOffMyCoffee
      @TopOffMyCoffee  4 роки тому +4

      Honestly, I think you are right, If you had the supreme plus and brewed a 4oz or 6oz coffee on the strongest and possibly the hottest setting then you'd get the most water-to-grind contact brew time and then manually pouring over ice all at once after it cools down a touch to minimize ice melt. Someone else said they like the idea of straining the ice out after it gets cold but I think that may be overkill, too many after-brew pours. lol - I have no problem with iced coffee but I'll just continue to personally drink mine hot. :D

    I'm not totally convinced these new machines have much of a resouvour - powering right down does not effect the time it takes for it to get going - at least I cannot notice a difference. It makes them nice as no warm up like the 2.0 I had .. and even when I did like cups in a row it still had to do that warm up. I will be trying "ice tea" .. just have no idea how to approach it .. cartridge or just tossing a tea bag where the cartridge goes. Then sugar or lemon - how do people do that? I wonder what the "ice tea edicate is"? We might as well do it the proper way - being definitely MORE a coffee person myself - but coffee I like hot - ice tea I can easily tolerate.
