The Orokin Void ambient audio
Composed by Keith Power
Hauntingly ethereal. A hymn to a dead and gone civilization, echoing through empty halls.
good statement
MegaTRT twins arent orokin
From what I know, only the big one out of those twins is orokin, she possessed the body of the queen and in war within *spoilers* she wanted to possess the tenno because she was tired of living in that body. The little one is still grineer I think.
The big one and little one were identical twins born to Orokin parents. As the Orokin prize uniqueness they would have been killed as infants, save for their fathers intervention. When the Orokin empire fell, they convinced the Grineer that they needed leadership and were kin due to this. Under their rule, the Grineer empire rose to prominence, but the bodies of Grineer could not house them for long. They achieved Continuity many times, but always looked for a better way... or rather, better materials. Then you came along, Orokin stock, uncorrupted and pure save for your exposure to the void. What better materials for continuity could there be then something Eternal? So they schemed and plotted to attain you for themselves, the younger letting the elder have it.
Then either you kill the elder, have the elder killed, or in the most cruel decision, leave her to rot in the body that is collapsing around her with every labored breath. So the younger collects Kuva in hopes of saving her elder sister and mistreats the Grineer below her, as the Orokin once did...
I think I've seen you before, do you watch babypopcorn?
“Some Tenno say that if you take a step back, and drink it all in...the Void sings its melody to you; The melody of the lost Orokin.”
I give DE credit, they did the advanced race suddenly disappearing cliche with gratis and made it much darker than most sci-fi genre's do.
The Orokin didn't ascend to a higher plane of existence or even sacrifice themselves heroically to spare the lesser races of some catastrophe, they were butchered and driven to extinction... By us.
And the only remaining Orokin are Cowards Living like roaches in perspective of theyr old ways.
Good, and the Orokin should stay that way for what they have done
@@bustanut5540 sorry this is 3 months l8 but I feel like the orkin should be brought back. I'm mean cmon we can get more of this like songs and maps
@@h2hades123 don't get me wrong i would like to bring them back, or at least a handful but the slaughter at the terminus most likely decreased their numbers so much that eventually they died off without the ability to replace their bodies. Kind off like the Isu in assassins creed (which were the orokin but if they created humanity) that die off after their numbers were decreased a lot after a apocalyptic event.
The orokin technically killed themselves though didnt they? They caused the infestation with their own bio-technology experiments and that caused them to be wiped out almost entirely, i thought (Im not super well versed in Warframe lore, my apologies if im wrong), then upon returning from the void, the tenno hunted down the rest of them for what they had done
From 1:31 it gets strangely beautiful.
When i solo the void on Ivara with her "perma stealth", you hear almost only this song. It makes it feel really weird to slaughter thousands with such a soft and tranquil song. It's the only time in the game i question the amounts of killing on this game and the reason behind. Just with this song.
Weird feeling. This game is always about speed and everything goes so fast, but it doesn't when this music plays.
This song is special.
I hear this beautiful piece playing while in stealth mode too. So beautiful. I am wondering what kind of instrument it is
+a It's a pad and strings(Preferably we could say cello staccato but in the musician and producer world we'd call this a pad)
After reading too much into the lore... Lotus is just a genocidal maniac that's too lazy to kill things herself.
I know not of what will be introduced in U19 but I hope that U20 will give players an option to rebel against lotus
Raveparty2814
She even wanted to erase the Tenno from existence, but changed her mind after forming a bond with them ( from the Mirage quest, and Natah quest).
Now, she's psycho space mom xD
I'm down for that! I just founded a roleplaying clan and that kinda quest would be remarkable!
The beginning gives you an image of what it is at the moment with the ghostly chants and drums: abandoned, hollow, forgotten. But at the start of 1:13 it soon takes you back to those golden halls that were filled with life, a society that always looked up to paradise and prosperity but then it diminishes at 2:50...returning you to the golden, wonderful and empty halls of the Orokin.
Allow me to add to this. The beginning first features the tower in all its glory with the raw void flowing around it. The camera then dollies past a window to the gilded empty halls of the tower, continuing where your idea started.
I do not see the Orokin in such a way, they looked to perfection and tried to create a paradise for such a small, select few at the expense of others. Not even doing well and leaving others behind, as a Libertarian I do not see anything wrong with *that* but, they created intelligent and sapient species to enslave. They also took what they wanted from others, they created the early "golem" Warframes and DAX Soldiers to take property, wealth and intellectual capitol from other cultures.
The mess the Origin system is in now is directly the fault of the Orokin, the Grineer are rebelled slaves, the sentient are rebelled slaves, the Infestation was a bioweapon and the Tenno, which are mostly rampaging around in a multifront war are another of their hubristic blunders.
@@Tuberuser187 And then there's the Corpus, the survivors of the Orokin's corrupt reign.
1:24 This floored me when I first heard it in-game. I stopped killing and just stood in a corner for 5 minutes getting feels...it sounds so warm, so loving and so hurt as if its the voice of all the slaughtered who are forgiving me for killing them..its the emotion of a goddess pouring into your tenno, letting their machine parts feel love and pain and peace for once..I might be over-reacting but what a powerful song in a violent fast game. Up there with my top 3 angelic peaceful songs in all of gaming (along with peace of akatosh from oblivion and journey (vocal edition) from destiny 2)
You have a very beautiful mind. :) You really put the feeling into words.
I know this comment is two years old, but as someone who just yesterday finished Journey (and was absolutely amazed by it) were you talking here about the track called "I was born for this"?
@@liraaell Did you reply to wrong person? I was describing this video's song and specifically part around 1:24 :)
@@minilabyrinth Oh I know you did, but you also mentioned that this OST is up there with "Peace of Akatosh" from Oblivion and one of the soundtracks from Journey, so I'm wondering which one you were thinking of ^^
@@liraaell Oh lol I was talking about ua-cam.com/video/0s04PzIJ8SY/v-deo.html its a track from Destiny 2 called Journey
Only song to crazily bring me back to loving emotions. I honestly can't explain it.
bro.... its like the game FELT different, it made you FEEL and I cannot explain it what it was
@@authorizednull5187 what you feel is the indifference 🤣🤣🤣
1:24 Really hits me. I enjoy this piece so much.
+John C. Saccomandi III I know its so serene...yet so epic.
+John C. Saccomandi III it reminds me of unreal so much
It makes me think of elevator music
lol elevator music will never be this chill
There are two kinds of people.
If you want to hear these in-game, do this:
Go to -Tower 1 exterminate.- A Void extermination mission.
Kill everyone.
Wander the halls alone and bloodied with the music set to max.
enjoy.
Terenin Or go here lol. Just saying.
The Chairman True, but I was thinking about how this might work out in-game. :P
+Terenin I did a T2E and got into a secret room (the one with the extending bridge) and stopped for a while to go AFK a little and when I came back I heard this song... I loved it so much I had to find the song.
Sándor Varga And now you did :)
Enjoy :3
"Tower 1 exterminate" Oh those were the days, of endless farming. Good suggestion by the way.
Masterpiece of a sound. This is the part of the OST when I realized the Warframe OST was truly something special.
This song gives me a feeling I can't explain
I imagine this song playing during a flashback sequence where ti alters from an empty husk of a tower to a tower brimming with life. Watching a lone Tenno walk through the derelict tower with short glimpses/jump cuts of the tower brimming with life. It just ends with the lone Tenno standing at a extraction and before leaving having a memory of the tower still filled with life before leaving.
I would love that!
Dude i was thinking about that right fking now then boom i found your comment
What a great timing
This song represents everything that was good about the orokin, before they let their comforts and curiosities consume them.
There is nothing good about the Orokin.
@@jaeheealbertchoi4920 There was, they valued truth and science and lived deeply philosophical lives. However the immense power they received from the void and their research corrupted them to the core.
@@aaronfaloon4186 absolutely agree!
@@aaronfaloon4186 No matter how grand a civilization is, power will always corrupt all the same. A tragic end for the Orokin.

This game is really under appreciated
yeah, I mean its free to play, updates regularly, and sure its sorta pay-to-win but you can play just fine without having to buy Platinum
wtftv42 Considering you can easily earn platinum without paying a cent I'd say it's far from pay to win.
A few days of farming can get me a couple hundred plat sorta easily (then again I got a shitton of void keys).
I just spend money cause I support DE and the game! :)
+Disturbed246810 hell they even give you discounts on plat, up to 75%
+TheDeathDistributor Yep. People usually wait for those before buying a ton of plat lol.
***** couldn't have said it any better
Man, screw relics. I miss the void.
Man, I remember when I first dug out my first void key, a T1 Exterminate. This music brings back memories.
I want to go back to that time.
@@Regrelin same bro i just stopped playing for some time and when i came back i didn't see void keys , i was fucking confused
De , give us void keys bacc
Yeah, now you got me thinking back to how special those keys made the void
When Warframe was good
It's worth noting to all of you stealth players out there, that the part at 1:24 (we all know what part that is, the best part, the reason you're here) gets LOUDER as you near an enemy. This goes for out of stealth, whenever this song is playing, that the little synthesizer part becomes more and more dominant in the mix as you get closer and closer to enemies. Just thought you'd like to know.
Bummer I dont have infinite stealth
@@Capellix0001 ivara
I use rhino for stealth guys
Im a Loki Prime main
Actually though? I didn’t think the music was that dynamic, that’s awesome!!
Warframe has the most beatiful soundtrack ever. Who's agree?
I often play Void missions with Loki. I set the volume of sound effects low, and in-game music fairly high. As Loki, going invis muffles and reduces the volume of all the sound effects, so when this song comes on, it can be heard easily and clearly, and it's a nice, occasional retreat from the fast-paced action.
+Jaunty Jackson Try Ivara, almost guaranted a full run with this music if you're doing this right

after +10 hours of listening to this it still gives me goosebumps
dyrak55d I really love Orokin Tower. Not just because it dropped prime parts :P, but that place is a place of awesome wonder and awe, grandeur, majestic, yet gloomy, and intimidating.
one thing I always wonder, why the tower seems still look clean after being abandoned for centuries. Does the neural sentry system made the captured grineer and corpus to sweep and mop the floor when no intruders came?
+KoeSeer Well...its more of the location I feel...remember its in the void, a place where, and I quote from excal's codex entry "Science fails"...so their may not be dust and such in combination of no inside contamination (via the sentry cleaning the corrupted) and no way for dust to come in from the outside unless the grinner and corpus decide to piss off the tower
this soundtrack made me start meditating as a hobby
but please no new age bullshit. train throat singing so that you can vibrate your body to tones and then you can try some of corpus indoctrination soundtrack :P
Karl Heinrich Marx that sounds like new age bullshit
I don't play warframe anymore....yet,I love the game...whenever I listen to tracks such as these,it just sends my thought into the past....really emotional and soothing to listen to.....
why you dont play it ?
The game....no..the developers- they just got so bad for me.I mean, look at it,its really had some potential, yet I just feel like they are throwing it all away with repetitive grindfests and absurd difficulty systems.Sooo much good things, though for me,the bad things are currently overtaking it...not to mention some ethical problems.
such a shame , i find it still enjoyable
I don't feel like this actually, I really enjoy the game and love every new update. Maybe it's just me, who didn't play the game in the old times.
Nah,if you enjoy it,then its great for you.I agree its a wonderful game, and that too,a memorable one.Its just that I sort of see where it is going. And where it is going,is sort of...well,bad for me.
Play this music while you read the codex lore of excalibur, mag prime, and stalker. You can almost hear the war between the orokin and the sentients. Most powerful music ever designed for warframe. If warframe ever had a campaign, imagine if this was the ending credits scene. Thanks for uploading StallordD
Couldn't agree more. This universe, even the little amount we've seen so far, is such an interesting space fantasy. I can't wait for them to give us more detailed story. Amazing work so far, DE.
yeah, we need "travel to centuries before" quest line. I want to see how the world looks like in Orokin era.
We seriously need a campaign in Warframe. 2015! It's about time.
After they fix/finalize parkour and map design elements.
rivengle Well they have a huge story you can spend hours and hours reading and watching videos but a campain would be nice. But first ASH PRIME
Drvader. SkullTrooper I have, but I want to *play* it!
Latin lyrics I've translated online:
Domi Quia Emi Eu (Brought home)
Domi Quisei Emi Eu (Who brought it home)
Pace (Peace/old Latin) (pronounced Pah-chey)
albertdentfan Close, but there are a few mistakes. Firstly, "Emi" means "Bought" not "Brought", like "Caveat Emptor" = "Buyer Beware"
Second, they're saying "Chrysei" not "Quisei". "Domi Chrysei" = "House of Gold"
"Eu" is not a word. It could be closer to "Eius", but that still doesn't make sense.
I'm working on my own version, but it's not finished yet.
***** The dictionaries I am using say Eu is indeed a word but depends heavily on context. It is an exclamation of sorts
As to Chrysei I agree. House of Gold makes sense.
albertdentfan I did see the meaning for "Eu" as an exclamation, but I didn't think that Powers would use waste a perfectly good syllable on an exclamation that didn't contribute to the meaning. Maybe he did, but I wanted to find a more appropriate possibility.
I guess it could be Quisei, but it's too hard to tell.
Yeah, I was wondering as to why he would put Eu in as well. I guess we shall have to work together to find the meaning. I encourage you to contact the composer on Twitter too. He finds peoples theories on the lyrics amusing it seems and gives hints.
albertdentfan what if the orokin primarily spoke Latin
During a void mission I like to go to a window and just watch the beauty of the void while this song plays. It's not always about the action..
This is like the most ominous and majestic vibe in the game. When I first heard it, my interest in the game was renewed. When I waltzed through the Void and heard that, the goosebumps, and my eyes grew watery. That was incredibly awesome.
It stopped me in my tracks the first time I noticed it
@@carrosivejones1969 Same, the music really did a good job of stopping you and realizing the nature and importance of the place you are in, its the first part of the game that really kicks the player to start thinking about the grander story.
For real, the app Shazam identified this by name. What a wondrous time to be alive.
"Return to me, my brother. For we broke the walls of rivalry, and created the bonds of friendship. Though you may be lost...I'm coming to find you"
Is that a real lyrics for this song? Because something like that was actually presented to Keth and he joked away with "You're close, but try to understand", so community still doesn't know the true lyrics

Absolutely Stupid that this song makes me tear up. Things were just so different back then
This soundtrack always makes me wanna cry. God, so many memories on this game...
Wonder how this looked before. imagine Countless people walking these hallowed halls adorned in the finest golden lined silk, the exotic refreshments given to passers by, Ayatan clad Dax guards appointed to protect the most beautiful and powerful, and the tenno heading to their schools of focus.
In comparison to any other game franchise, the Lore of Warframe FASCINATES ME!!
1:10 Sssssh ! The Orokin empire is dancing among the stars...
Amazing statement
Played Survival, and before another wave of enemies come and this song plays, it almost feels like you and your teammates are the last Tenno.
Interestingly enough, in the Stalker's codex entry he refers to the old Orokin as "Our Cold And Gold Masters" same as the title of the song.
metrocop1000 I make up all the titles for these. I used his codex as the basis for this one.
Oh, alright. That's pretty cool and clever.
so calm... so deep...
This song is making me cry.
"Listen here, little one, and you hear the Ghosts of The Void sing their song...listen...."
This is so original, i thought ive heard all the sounds all the instruments, rithmes and tones this track is something so far from everything ive ever heard before and it proves that original music can still be created.
Paradox Asma this is meaningful. Thank you.
I love that this plays in challenge rooms,
It's like the song its self embodies patience and curiosity.
It feels like the room its self wants to see what youre going to do.
The splendor of the Orokin Era, veritable fortresses and yet still showing the great wealth and architecture of the now-lost culture. Untouched for centuries, the tower has been waiting for you to arrive...
An interview said that the orokin are not elimated. But gone like vampires in the day. Hopefully next big update will be orokin
For those arguing if it is latin or not it is CONFIRMED to be latin lyrics by the composer himself, Keith Power: twitter.com/keith_power/status/581205389728837633
Upvote this as proof. He wouldn't give a direct translation when asked (as he is obviously enjoying watching people work for it) but the direction of the translation(s) thus far is close enough. Depending on the direction, it can be taken that the Orokin might still be around, but asleep, or it could be referring to the guardians awakening to defend their "homes".
For more translation info see what the person asked him and composers twitter favorites give clues as to closeness of trans
albertdentfan Totally agree... latin is a very difficult language and translating it into modern languages proves to be very difficult at some times, because there is no 100% translation for it. Latin language even has a time form that is completely odd to us. Every language is unique, each one of them has certain words and sentences that cannot be translated for 100% into another language... in german it would make sense, in english it sounds like nonsense.
Let me give an example:
German: "Du gehst mir auf den Sack" (-> correct translation: You get on my nerves)
English: " You go on my balls" (direct word translation)
I guess this is the same case here... these words make sense in latin but are hard to find in english language thus precise translation is almost impossible... most of the times latin sentences have many meanings... which one is correct?
@@RavenWarrior90 you go on my balls

The rap-tap-tap is _everywhere_ !
Did a stealth riven challenge in the void earlier. The dissonance between this track and the slaughter of a hundred corrupted who don't seem to care about their friends dying is eerie.
Its therepuetic
this song almost made me feel sorry for those orokin

+B0necrusher Man24 tenno orokin too right?
+Bobby Henson Putra yep Orokin children
nope tenno are children that was exposed to void energy and ended up being able to melt faces off by waving hello
Actually, the Ten-Zero didn't have any children on it when it was lost. The fact they were there was a complete enigma. They were human, for sure. But Orokin? Not all humans were Orokin.
six years are over and i hear that song every day idk why.
I really feel that the title *Cold and Gold* fit this song a lot better than *Ghosts of Void*. I still tell people my favorite track in Warframe is Cold and Gold. I really like that as soon as I log into Warframe and any time I'm in my orbiter this is all that plays.
Deadsnake989 haha same this is the best somachord tone
this music is soooooooooooooo soothing, i could listen too it all day

Man this song brings me back to 2014 when I first entered the void I will never forget it this song is so amazing
this is so chill while you're just wandering around looking for caches. One of my favorites and I listen to it all the time.
If you want it on your orbiter do the octavia quest, put loot detector on, go to the void and scan somachords until you you get the ghosts of void song
@@PanzerVIILowe yeah, i have it. It comes up on somachord a lot :)
How come its so soft? :T Feels weird Killing millions to such calm music lol
+Michael Hunt Because this is the "calm" version of the void soundtrack. You aren't going to be killing many people in high tension combat during this.
ahh okay
+jamie hunter No, not really. Notice how I specified "high tension?" As in high alert? Open combat? What a vast majority of the frames would be engaged in?
+Michael Hunt Besides the fighting stance music of the Void being a different, little less calm, the point of the music is that the void is supposed to be a place so obscure and clean of every disturbance but you that it's supposed to creep you out. That's why the void is coloured in ivory, gold and cyan. Three colours that represent the strict but calm order. Collective mind, idealistic "purge" to cleanse the universe etc...pretty cult-ish.
+Michael Hunt This is were the beauty of the void lies.
I was wondering what was gracing my ears as we ran through the empty towers. This is some Howard fucking Shore mastery here!
Is it bad if tears are streaming down my face because of the very serenity of the music ?
+Bawal baba Yes it is!!! People will never look at you the same again!!! jk

It does it does. Been having the same effect on me since today morning, Bawal
I know this was 3 years ago but my mom died a number of years ago and the middle part of this song came on and I just started weeping thinking about her. So you're not alone.
I'm a new player and first time I ran into this ambience I just stopped in the mission to listen. It's so pretty!
I remember this, there was a point during the Fortuna update that this was the only song that would play on the launcher for the next 2-3 years, this is also what plays in the Void missions.
1:25 is nice but really really depressing, reminds me of my dad who passed away from cancer, it instantly changes my mood when I hear it, that is why I avoid void missions
This game's soundtrack is beautiful!

yes
I long for the day that the words that these mystifying Orokin voices are speaking, get translated.
There was some effort towards that a while ago. It came out to something like: "Holy council, take us. Holy council, bless us. Holy council, take us. Peace."

I know this comment was 4 years ago and I'll be surprised if you respond but if you do, what's your thoughts on the game? How far did you get and how's it made you feel with all of the lore in the game?
Jeez, right down the middle, the song makes you think this is a Tenno Christmas anthem.
Nowadays we call it Tennobaum. :D
The beauty of this song is amazing
I can see the orokin living peaceful lives amongst each other when I hear this.
Then we go and kill all of them......
We the Tennos are really bad people if you think of it......
So were the orokin though.
iRateAt308 Yeah ur right
The Tenno, from what I understand were borderline war slaves. They were used to protect the Orokin but the Tenno had their own social hierarchy.
+Omar Osman The Ancient Orokin created the warframes in which the Tenno used to fight the Sentient. Once the Sentient started to lose ground in the "Old War," their last attempt to save themselves were to corrupt the Tenno and use them to destroy their masters, The Orokin and then kill the Tenno off. This is where Natah comes in, or otherwise known as "The Lotus." She used the Warframes to destroy the Orokin but instead of destroying the Tenno, she took them for herself and escaped the Sentient and put them in stasis. Centuries later, the Tenno are awakened (Warframe era) to restore and maintain peace in the Universe. The Lotus uses the Tenno to run missions for her to do just that.
from all warframe ost, this one makes me feels like... i don't know, empty.
Miss the old Void and the keys giving the sense of ancient and ethereal feels to it
Makes you relaxed and stressed at the same time this is really strange.
I just noticed that the middle section is in 7/4 time. Cool!
What a weird time signature, but you're right

I love exploring the void. It's different than rest of the game. It feels like I'm uncovering something long forgotten. But also like I am profanating this place, like I am not supposed to be in here... Walking around the hostile yet so beautiful place, uncovering the riches held within.
Aand then the corrupted come back and they ruin the feels.
I think I can hear the old starchart ambient sound...
the 'huuuuuummmmmmm'
It was their lack or moral constraints that let that power morph into greed and spite. Everyone can hear the corrupting influence. Only some listen to it. And even fewer nurture it within themselves

+LittleWhite Turret ahem play 2nd dream quest plz
frames can't talk but someone else can
***** well it's not intelligent speech
warframes do have some sort of their own conciousness but they can't act on their own while transference is active, but when it's not active the warframe's "nature" comes out, something similar to rhino prime's codex, where he's described as a beast
valkyr's cries are probably remains of alad v's torture, the warframe itself is probably stronger and more "resistant" to transference than others i guess
+Prax xor I agree. I have a theory on how they created
using dark sector as a possible source along with other hints
I believe the warframes do have sentience.
the oriken are called selfish and greedy and have history in experiments it seems
so what if the warframes are virus spliced humans moulded and mutated to fit a certaint criteria of usefulness. then have there free will stripped from them via neural sensors and are used as puppets for the tenno too channel there power through
+Prax xor and they are outfitted with arguments to a point they are mostly a android.(hints wy we build them)
+LittleWhite Turret so maybe they have gaind sentience by bieng connected to the tenno? Like a side effect or do you think they they just naturally have sentience
Thank you so much for uploading these!
It's really strange, even though that soundtrack is not that epic, it somehow touches something deep inside, you listen and just think about various things and it's meaning. Just amazing what a simple Soundtrack can do, especially from 1:15 on
I was stuck in a loading screen for 25 minutes all I could hear this song.
1:14 on the magic unleashes. wow... Thank you!
Heh, I think it's pretty cool that this song's time signature is in 7/8; it's intriguing, considering how this is the main theme of The Orokin, who somewhat revolved around the number, seven (7 executors, 7 trials... I'm sure there are more examples, so please comment and let me know!). This may very well have no correlation to anything, but coincidence or not, it's interesting!

Everytime when I go to one of the Orokin towers I try to imagine how it must've looked during the prime time of the empire. With this music playing I try to envision how the towers look when they're bustling with hundreds if not thousands of people roaming the great golden halls of the tower.
valkyr+maxed out shadow step = sometimes this music triggers in t2survival
So glad I got this on my Somachord. One of my favorite tracks and I let it play on repeat in my ship. It's one of the calmer tracks in game but it's still rather haunting.
this music reminds me of unreal almost makes me want to cry cause i grew up with unreal and its abit sad that such a good game is slowly disappearing. But warframe brings back some unreal which is another reason why i cry abit cause it brings back good memories.
