I went there in 1982 February in a bullock cart the next day Bahavanam Venkatram Reddy sworn in as CM of Andhra Pradesh. I was 10 years old. It's an amazing memory for me. We were in Achampet in those days.
Before hunting was banned in 1972, this forest was favourite for Shikaris from Hyderabad/Secundrabad area. It is a pity that in the name of deity/idol worship pilgrimage, these mostly illitrates are trashing this ONCE a prestine forest. Endowments departnent should remove ALL DEITIES located inside forest area and put then in other existing temples outside and away from forest and let it return to its wilderness habitat.
