On the other hand, the railroad industry (which provides technology, construction, and rolling stock) in the United States is dead, and what little remains is decades behind what is currently offered in the international market. 1) Education comes first. Don't worry, take care. :) 2) Trump sees everything as a business. Geopolitical alliances, healthcare, now the postal service... it is no surprise he sees transportation the same way. 3) I'm sooo happy NYC is going forward congestion pricing.
3) It will not make any difference until there is a viable alternative. Here in The Netherlands there is an ongoing struggle to get "rekening rijden" implemented; a system that would charge you extra for every mile you drive. The problem is that basically every company already refunds the cost of driving to work so they would just refund the additional charge too. And if they add a toll on some road, people will simply avoid that road. The *only* way to reduce traffic, and I do mean the *only* way, is to provide an alternative. Good public transport. Sadly that is expensive, it's much more profitable to tax drivers.
