Black Country, New Road - Bread Song (unofficial video)

Black Country, New Road might be described as pre-rock band, touching on chamber music, jazz, and any form of pop that used strings, woods & horns as primary instruments. Among the 10 songs on "Ants From Up There" (their 2nd album released in 2022, via Ninja Tune), two are instrumentals and five are at least six minutes long. Isaac Wood (lead vocalist & guitarist), and his bandmates, manifest every glimmer of hope as a heaven-sent beacon and every letdown as a plunge towards the void. On "Bread Song", Isaac Wood ponders the vulnerability of eating in bed while desperately squeezing his phone as if it can make his intentions more direct and compelling.
But, on 31 January 2022, he announced his sudden departure from the band four days before the release of this LP2, citing struggles with his mental health. This resulted in the cancelling of their first US tour. Today, as we speak, the band is still playing, touring and releasing without him.
