Rather, it's so that they can comply with the DEI requirements put on them by donors to receive ESG money. For a long time these companies have been double-dipping, selling their games _and_ getting big ESG donations. *The most important thing about this whole situation is that the ESG money by itself is insufficient to prop up these studios.* Otherwise, they would simply continue to churn out DEI slop until people accepted it as the new normal. There's no reality where a game called "Unknown 9: Awakening" does well. That's a name you give to a pretend game into another fictional setting, one that's sole purpose is to decorate a wall as a poster or advertisement. That's like reading the pretend brands in a video game snack machine. I don't know if I've heard a less engaging title.
What is it with those games having an unbearable colour palette? So many have vomit-inducing colour schemes in their art styles. Did they hire colourblind people as their artists for DEI hires?
It's being taught in game design classes. College/university teaches you to follow instructions, not be creative. It's the same reason why so many western animation uses the CalArts beanmouth styie.
The funniest part about the low player count is that they were literally giving the game away for free with new AMD hardware. If you look at the Steam reviews, you'll see "product received for free" on most of them. People got this game for free and _still_ hated it.
I think that DEI is being done wrong it can be done right it’s just the people who are doing it have ill intentions. If I was a consultant let’s a say to a marvel project I would go into looking for what they need instead of changing the story/characters like I’m not make Hawkeye a black guy/who identifies as nonbinary I would look for a character that fits that role.
Uhh DEI will never work. If you want to introduce a character do it because you like that character. Diversity Equity and Inclusion for the sake of it is stupid. Also you have to listen to your audience that actually buys the games. IF players don't want it, maybe don't make it.
@ okay I mean I’m just saying if I need a diverse cast for movie example marvel I’m not changing already established characters for the sake of diversity instead looking at already established characters to fill that role.
DEI doesn't work because it's a quota system with points and a character hierarchy. That means you'll never satisfy the checklist requirements. It's just something that will never ever work.

Please keep Sweet Baby Inc. around, they're single handedly saving modern gaming! Think about it, if they help shut down all of these activism companies, the only ones left will be the good game companies that want to make good games.
Graces F stayed peak at least
Now everyone SHOULD know.
The funniest part about the low player count is that they were literally giving the game away for free with new AMD hardware. If you look at the Steam reviews, you'll see "product received for free" on most of them. People got this game for free and _still_ hated it.
Too much work done while assuming success instead of working to ensure success
I mean at least they admitted it was a total failure. Immediately beats the crud out of the Dustborn devs
(2:31) The character model here would have been acceptable in 2005. But 2024? Do they think the gamers are stupid?
Gamers keep winning and the best part it costed nothing and required no effort
Everything is going as I have forseen it.
I wasted a lot of my life trying to get a job in the gaming industry. I am relieved now that i failed...
