- Review of the DYMO labelmanager 160 handheld label maker. Easy to use and light weight. uses 6 AAA size batteries or a optional A/C adapter. I'm using a universal adapter with a polarity reversing cable as the unit uses a different polarity then what the adapter put outs.
You can choose the print size from size 8 to size 24 depending on tape width. You can print multiple lines and it automatically centers the text. Uses D1 size label cartridges and uses up to 1/2 inch width tape.
Took some experimenting to get it to work for labeling wires but what I did was just printed the word twice before cutting the label that way when wrapped around the wire it's labeled on both sides.
Make sure when you put in the cartridge it is firmly clipped in by pressing it firmly and you should hear a click.
That is why it is so noisy when you printed.
The clip is by the print head and has a symbol on.
To remove the tape if it was inserted properly you have to move it to the left with your finger
That will definitely do the trick. There may be a way to change the text size, you can make it smaller to save tape. The P-Touch I have can do 2 lines also, but doesn't auto-center, or at least that I know how to do. Getting the DYMO brand tape is probably expensive, chances are there are a million and one Chinese knockoff brands out there that will work just the same.
The refills I got are China knock offs. I ordered a P touch version of this unit with China knockoffs that say water resistant uv resistant. Will have to do a comparison.
That would be nice to see. Glad you've already ordered replacements, that was a smart move.
@@lexmarks567 It’s a year later...did you ever compare them? Outcome? Thanks.
Didn’t show how to use the different options. You just showed how to put the cartridge in. Didn’t need to know about the adapter.
